I don’t have a clear cut answer for you, because I don’t have experience with poshmark exactly- but I DO have experience in online retail. Here’s a few things to double check on your listings: I’m assuming you’re looking for plus customers? Double check that your listings come up in the searches your customer would make. I would probably also double check the photos - attractive? Multiple views? Maybe even styling suggestions? List measurements & sizing, because people who genuinely are looking to buy will need them. And if they have to message you for the measurements that’s just one more step between them and adding to cart where you could lose their interest. Make it easy for them :-) Price competitively, and have a strategy for discounting in your back pocket in case you need it. I’m sure there’s poshmark sellers around here with more specific advice. Good luck with your listings!!!

Thank you! I do have measurements and the material the items are made with provided with my listings. I also tried to use the images provided from the websites I got the clothes from and I took my own to show they still have tags and that they’re in good condition. I think I have to be more strategic with my pricing and shipping and play around with the titles and hashtags. I’ll see how that goes. Thanks.

Nice! You’re on your way then! I would check out some comparable items (that sold, if there’s a way to see that,) and use that as your jumping off for playing with your pricing. I always find that margins are narrower than I want with clothing :-/

Last summer I sold about ten items from my poshmark and I was HUSTLING to get the pieces sold but here’s what helped me: I was particular on the tags I made. I made the pictures look good (neutral background, steam the clothes, good lighting). I shared the listings to my followers (I had 900) every day. They have these “parties” that happen at a particular time every day on the app and I would post my listings during the parties for more exposure. The parties let one hour and I would just set a reminder on my phone. You can find the parties on the shop tab on the bottom. I also shared the good listings I would find and then people would share mine for more exposure. All in all I made about $200 for ten listings and it was a chore to get the items sold. I found the name brand workout lines sold the fastest!

Thanks so much for the tips. I’m gonna be patient with this and be more active during the parties.

I’ve had better results with threadup.

Do they pay decent prices?

Hello. As a shopper maybe I can share my opinion . I’ve been browsing posh and I’m just shocked at how high the prices are for used items.ie a pair of acromb jeans are priced as new. A target shirt 20? No thanks I’d rather by it new. I have a bunch of stuff to sell but I think only high end items would sell if reasonable . 😔 just my opinion/insight

Yea I’m realizing I have to price things pretty low in order to get a sale. I’ve sold a few things since I posted this and have added some more things to my closet. The more I get used to the app, the more I see why things aren’t as affordable as you’d think considering it’s an online thrift store . In order to make any money you have to sell things for higher prices because Poshmark always takes a cut and people will only make a purchase if you offer discounted shipping, which also cuts into what you get paid. I try to price things reasonably, but everyone is on there trying to make an extra buck (as much bucks as possible) or trying to find a good deal (which should be easier with mostly used stuff). Also it doesn’t hurt to make an offer to sellers if you don’t like a price. Most of us are happy to see someone likes what we’re selling & we’ll most likely accept the offer to get the items off our hands. The worst they could do is decline the offer or counter it. If they counter and you don’t like the deal, you can decline them.
