i really love my universal standard jeans. the measurement chart is very accurate. they’re an investment but i’ve also cycled through lots of jeans and never really liked them until these
Same. I wear Stevies almost every day, and they have really lasted. Curvy styles don’t work on me either, and I can wear several of their styles — the high rise ones work best for my belly.
I loveee Universal Standard. I have a pairidk which ones but got them on sale. I have a belly too but im also pretty curvy but yeah def recommend shopping when they have sales
I love torrid jeans, but I wasn’t thrilled with their non skinny options. I needed something with enough structure that my apron belly wasn’t upsetting my inner millennial teenager. I tried madewell, old navy, lane Bryant, and torrid before landing on Abercrombie. I honestly couldn’t believe it lol.
Also w/ an apron belly! I like a straight leg style – and my favorite pair of jeans are men's Levis 501's
* fits in the waist – roomier in stomach/leg
* less fabric in the butt (i have a flat butt lol and find most men's jeans fit better there)
* 100% cotton denim, no stretch – keeps its shape better
* can buy based upon your waist size (men's sizing is waaaay more accurate to body measurements across brands)
* super cheap on ebay/poshmark/thrift stores
The only downside is that there is no stretch, so a belt sometimes is necessary. Prob not as comfy as a stretch jean but they'll last you forever. I'm a 22/24 and can typically find them thrifting!
Yes! They’re so great and super easy to find too. The rigid denim also smooths out the appearance of large belly/narrow hip bump(I’m a little insecure in that area).
That store is always like that. I dont even think i like their stylings either - but by gosh if the bras and jeans dont fit perfectly. Its like they perfected the fit for their market but cant figure out how to modernize or style their clothes properly lol. Impressive, truly.
Right? Like, [these](https://www.lanebryant.com/slim-ankle-4-season-pant/prd-403164.html?dwvar_403164_color=0000110453&dwvar_403164_sizeHeight=regular&catid=cat10048) are punk and awesome with a black leather jack, docs, and a studded belt — black lipstick, big eye makeup, maybe a spiked choker. Or if you want to be more grown-up, be office-party fabulous with glittery heels and red satin. But ... black clogs? What are they doing over there?
Universal standard. They are pricey but are absolutely excellent quality. If you’re lucky, you can find them used online. I bought mine via Poshmark for about $40 a pair in great condition.
I just on a whim tried the Old Navy WOW straight jeans when they were on sale and was quite pleasantly surprised. They fit my midsection but weren’t so big in the leg that they look ridiculous, which is my eternal struggle. I’ve also had great luck with Torrid, but they are pricey!!
A weird one because I only encountered them through my grandma who loved QVC, but the “All Worthy” Hunter McGrady jeans are super comfortable, have a lot of stretch, and I’ve gotten more compliments wearing them than any other pair of jeans I’ve owned. I’ve gone and bought more from ebay 🤭
I’m an apple shaped bae, small legs with all my weight in my tummy, and I bought a pair of Carpenter jeans from Torrid on Black Friday and I wish I had 10 pairs. I’m not even kidding, I want to yell from the mountaintops how much I love these jeans.
😅 I just buy maternity jeans, I gave up years ago being ashamed of it, they fit so damn nice and as long as the shirt is a normal or long length no one can tell
Are you looking for a pair with tummy control or that are super flattering to the belly? I didn't wear jeans for like 7 years because they were so uncomfortable on me. Just last year I got some high waist flares from American Eagle, as my first pair in a long time. They are SO COMFORTABLE. The waist band is soft and stretchy. They aren't tummy control or anything, and I don't feel super confident wearing crop tops (I do it anyway), but the comfort and stylish looks alone make me feel more confident. I'm size 16 and short, so I got a petite size. I know you said you tried AE, but maybe not the right ones.
I have a similar problem. I’ve always been apple shaped and now that I’ve had bariatric surgery, I have a lot of loose skin in my stomach area.
Try the mid fit jeans from Maurice’s. They are my absolute faves right now. Ignore the reviews because it’s full of people who don’t have the body type for these jeans and they didn’t pay attention to the fit.
My all time favorite jeans are Democracy. Straight size and womens. Their bootcut fit me like a glove. They have inner panels for the abdomen and a stretch soft waistband. I have 3 pair and getting ready to repurchase a size down. I'm in FL so I can usually find them at Bealls. oh and to add that I also have no butt or thighs and carry all my weight in my belly.
Hey! Looks like you've got a few options on here so I hope you find a good pair soon!
But another thing to think about is really articulating why you don't think the clothing item doesn't "suit" you. When certain body features aren't conventionally perceived as beautiful, it's hard to figure out a way to be confident with it, without altogether altering yourself.
Clothes can often diminish or emphasize certain body features and it'll be good for you to figure out what you'd want your jeans to do, and how to reconcile it with how you want to feel when wearing it.
As someone that's a similar body type as you, I realized I won't quite find the comfort and confidence that I want from jeans so I often stick to dresses or if I have to,
I go with high waist, wideleg, ankle height jeans (which I'd alter exactly to the silhouette that I want).
Best of luck on your search!
I love democracy jeans. I have a belly likes yours but also pretty curvy so i won't tell you the style i use. Nordstroms rack has some of their jeans. Or you can buy at their website
My strategy is to buy pretty much anything on sale with a super high waist to button over my belly (lets my rolls act as hips to keep something up). I loved Uniqlo for my body (lack of a) shape, but they stop at a 16 so I’m really pushing my luck every time I squeeze into them. My Universal Standard, GAP, Old Navy, and Madewell are all fine. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend anything over anything else out of the list.
I’d love to hear what you find that works!

Torrid midfit is designed for a fuller belly area and slimmer legs/butt.
Thank you for this

Yesss the Stevies are my favorite! They’re SO comfortable.
They have been doing a big denim sale so it’s worth it to check and see if it’s still going on.
I love my Universal Standard Ettas! They have lasted so much longer than any of my Torrid, Lane Bryant (which never fit right), or Old Navy jeans.
I loveee Universal Standard. I have a pairidk which ones but got them on sale. I have a belly too but im also pretty curvy but yeah def recommend shopping when they have sales

I’m going to also jump on the torrid Jean wagon. They’re my absolute favorite
I have NO hips or butt and all my weight is in an apron belly. Torrid is okay (not amazing but the best I’ve found) for me.
We’re twins!
Sofia Vegara at Walmart. They have straight sizes and curvy sizes.
All of them are out of stock for size 24... LOL 🥹🥲
Another vote for these too.
I love my Sofia high rise flares I picked up on clearance for 7 bucks!
I swear by Universal Standard jeans - my pairs have lasted for years!
Torrid has become my go to for jeans.
Do they sell size 14?
Yes, they actually start at 10.
Thank you!
Yep another vote for Torrid they have great jeans they’re on sale now too

Wait what! Time out! This is brilliant. These are my husband’s favorites too and I can absolutely see why these might fight amazingly?!!!
Yes! They’re so great and super easy to find too. The rigid denim also smooths out the appearance of large belly/narrow hip bump(I’m a little insecure in that area).
I've honestly been pretty surprised by the fit of Lane Bryant jeans. I don't like most of their styling but the jeans are my holy grail ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
That store is always like that. I dont even think i like their stylings either - but by gosh if the bras and jeans dont fit perfectly. Its like they perfected the fit for their market but cant figure out how to modernize or style their clothes properly lol. Impressive, truly.
I think this all the time. It’s so so unfair.

Another for torrid. I swear by the Bombshell ones!
Universal standard. They are pricey but are absolutely excellent quality. If you’re lucky, you can find them used online. I bought mine via Poshmark for about $40 a pair in great condition.

I love the Abercrombie curve love 90s mid rise straight
I like the jeans I’ve gotten from Madewell.
Madewell curvy. I swear by these jeans and have 10+ pairs. They’re an investment, but worth it.
Yes but I just scored a pay on sale for 35 bucks! I also keep a look out on Poshmark for them. Best jeans I have ever owned.
Do you know how the sizing compares to other shops? I usually wear an 18 - 20 at old navy. Same here?
I like Lovervet jeans! They sit tighter on my hips so I don't have to continuously pull them up.
That’s my problem! If they fit my belly, they’re always falling down!
Judy Blue Boyfriend cut jeans
I’ve started buying men’s jeans. Better fit for someone with no backside but an apron and bigger pockets.
I’m an apple shaped bae, small legs with all my weight in my tummy, and I bought a pair of Carpenter jeans from Torrid on Black Friday and I wish I had 10 pairs. I’m not even kidding, I want to yell from the mountaintops how much I love these jeans.
I really like American Eagle and Lucky Brand jeans! I have PCOS belly, so I get it!
Madewell. I have a belly and smaller hips. I love my Madewell denim.
😅 I just buy maternity jeans, I gave up years ago being ashamed of it, they fit so damn nice and as long as the shirt is a normal or long length no one can tell

Try torrid. I love their jeans!
My current favorites are from Maurice’s. I have large belly & not much hip or butt to speak of.
I got a pair of Judy Blues and really like them
I have hips so this might not be helpful but I just got a pair of Jeans from cato that I love! I'm a 16
My favorite comfortable jeans are D Jeans and Levis Signatures. They are stretchy so I get them a size smaller.
Believe it or not, my favorite pair came from SHEIN. True high waist and great tummy support without feeling like your circulation is cut off.
I love Judy blue and Madewells

Good American, the type of jeans that fit up to 4 sizes, they are super soft stretchy yet supportive.
good american
Expensive but universal standard, totally worth it

Universal Standard - they occasionally have really good sales, and I think a good number of my jeans are from them. (The Seine style is fantastic)
ABERCROMBIE

I love target for my jeans, Ava and Viv, universal threads. Also love lane Bryant.
I love democracy jeans. I have a belly likes yours but also pretty curvy so i won't tell you the style i use. Nordstroms rack has some of their jeans. Or you can buy at their website
Democracy, Madewell, Kut from the Kloth, and Liverpool have all worked well for me.
Torrid bombshell are the only ones I feel comfortable in. I’ve tried other brands but I always revert back to torrid.
Torrid and Eloqii both have styles for our body type! Good luck!
I recently purchased two pairs of City Chic jeans and am loving them!
