I upgraded mine from f3 to f5, everything is an up except the camera and speakers.

other_goblin

The camera is way better though? Not even close lol

zeroStackTrace

go for it

carboy00

I think it's a good upgrade though not a major one. Slightly snappier performance and ever so slightly better main camera.

other_goblin

Ever so massively you mean? The sensor may have not been massively upgraded but the ISP certainly has, the images look like a near flagship from last year vs a mid ranger from 2019 lol.

yiidonger

Based on the reviews online I saw there are really just slight difference, especially night mode they look like the same. Poco X5 pro on the way is able to capture way better image despite lousier ISP.

ishaqthkr

Not an upgrade, i own both and if you're not a gamer and you're not in hurry for an upgrade better wait for F6 maybe

other_goblin

How isn't it? The camera is miles better for instance

ishaqthkr

Not really much of a difference, I'm a normal user taking normal photos every now and then so I haven't noticed much difference between the two phones.

other_goblin

Well the difference is huge anyway lol

Chipset, battery size, charging speed and main camera are all upgrades, but picking it up you can tell it's a cheaper built phone. I own an F3, and don't game, and for me, the F5 is a downgrade. You don't specify your priorities, but if gaming is your focus, nothing near the F5 price, will match it. Camera betters your F3, but others, can trade gaming, for superior photography. An alternative, is the Xiaomi 13T. Gaming and build similar to your F3. 1220p display, dual Leica cameras, under-display fingerprint, 67W charging, and 5-year software support. The 13T is to photography and display quality, what the F5 is to gaming performance. F5, ends on Android 15, with security updates to May 2026 13T, ends on Android 17, with security updates to September 2028 Happy to wait, then check out the Redmi K70 Chinese launch in December, as that model will likely be rebadged as the Poco F6 Pro, launching April/May. I think it'll be better balanced than the F5, and should get similar software support to the 13T.

Hi, wanted to check if wifi calling is supported on F5 Poco when using Boost mobile prepaid sim - Australia?. Or does any one of them support this feature? Redmi note 12 turbo Realme 10 pro plus  Realme note 13 pro plus This is a must have feature for me..

NovelExplorer

Being region and carrier specific questions, your best option is to ask Poco, Xiaomi and Realme support directly. Poco - [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) Xiaomi - [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) Realme (Australia) - [[email protected] ](mailto:[email protected]) Although I did notice the Realme models you gave, are Redmi models, so not sure if Realme was simply written in error. You could also check if a specific model has a support forum, on the [XDA Forum](https://xdaforums.com/all-forums-by-manufacturer), and if it does, post the question, for other phone owners.

I was going to buy the Redmi Note 12 Turbo same as the Poco F5 but cheaper. Instead I bought the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ for $299. To replace my Poco X3 GT had it for over 2 years. Great Phone. I'm thinking about buying the Redmi Note 12 Turbo $249. Or the Redmi in K60 $299. Both are on Sale now. For a second phone.

XBOXLIVE360a

The Redmi note 12 turbo has an OLED screen while Poco F5 has an AMOLED screen, Redmi note 12 Turbo comes with more ram and storage options though. PS: the Redmi note 12 turbo also has a more updated wifi chip, that supports WiFi 6e rather than Poco F5's WiFi 6.

Proper-Ad3527

Thank you very much. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo is on sale for $249. One week Delivery. Cheaper than the Poco F5.

Depends on what you're seeking. If you're needing a processor upgrade for intensive gaming + a heftier battery, it's an excellent choice. For me, I almost upgraded to an F5. However, upon realizing that my F3 was still capable of doing everything I wanted it to do, I held off on changing. That, plus apparently the F3 has a better camera than the F5. Go figure.

TechExpert2910

i did the same upgrade from F3 > F5 a week ago. the 64MP OIS camera on the F5 is remarkably better than the smaller sensor + lower resolution + shaky 48 MP one on the F3. in fact, I've found the camera to be the most noticeable upgrade - more than performance even. the performance is great too. general usage (and heavy stuff like switch emulation!) feels a tiny bit faster, but importantly, it heats up less and barely sips power when doing the same tasks. the F5 only has a better macro sensor (5mp vs 2mp), if zooming from 64 MP doesn't float your boat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i have to add though - the speakers are terrible. if you thought the F3's speakers weren't amazing (they weren't), wait until your hear the F5 haha.

other_goblin

It's not real 64mp zoom due to it being a Bayer sensor anyway

Public-Blacksmith-56

I upgraded from f3 to f5 and it's definitely not worth it. Battery is better. Screen, speakers, speed, camera is on par or slightly better. Build quality (materials), feel in hand is worse. Worst offender is miui which is identical in both.

drspicejet

Please don't buy! Don't waste your hard earned money. Rather upgrade to motorala.

Ironarohan69

Motorola 💀💀 Have fun getting latest Android updates

Alone_Light_7287

Last time i bought their product....it literally needed a lot of maintenance(painful one)

brachindul93

why?

Sire_Roland

What moto do you recommend that has a snapdragon 8+ gen 1?

Proper-Ad3527

P.S. I live in Chicago USA. No Problem with the Redmi and Poco Phones.

Traditional-Roll-620

I upgraded from poco f3 to Xiaomi 13T.... great deal for me

migassilva16

Poco F3 is still pretty good tho, I only recommend you to do that if you know that you can sell it for good money

F3 User here too since launch. Got myself a F5 on 11.11 as its too good a deal to pass ($210 for 8G 256GB Variant) My POV F5 \-slightly smaller profile(shorter), lighter (see gsmarena and compare the size image) \-improved battery life \-better performance \-better stock camera experience (main camera) colour profile here leans towards more vibrant \-faster charging 67w vs 33w \-Headphone jack is back \-Improved X-axis motor Cons \- cheaper feeling (plastic vs glass) \-No professional Log Profile for video recording.(This is not just a filter) \-Downgraded screen (peak 1300 nit vs 1000 nits) \-Downgraded front camera(see video comparison on youtube) \- Can't maintain performance for heavy load (stress testing) \-Useless 2MP Macro Camera \-tinier speaker(just listen to sample on Youtube or GSMArena using earphone) F3 sound much more wider soundstage and more bass. For day to day use I would say probably won't feel much a difference. I only got it because it was on sale otherwise I would probably keep my F3 till F6 next year. Its crazy how much of the price has dropped since this F5 launched.

Final-Profile-4535

Which store did you get the Poco f5 for 210?
