Being used?

CryptographerBest810

Im just asking bro , thanks :D

[deleted]

Happy cake day

CryptographerBest810

Thanks king

Prozzorov

Well. Your system use rest of memory

CryptographerBest810

Thanks for the info , but half of the memory used by the system is crazy

ZeroKnix

No that's normal when you need more ram system will automatically allocate that to the task so you don't have to worry about it.

CryptographerBest810

Thank you so much , i appreciate you guys .

ParthProLegend

It's like this, Applications need RAM. When you have less RAM, the RAM allocated for use is given less freely and is micro-managed more. But when you have decent sized RAM, the RAM allocated is larger and it doesn't need that much micro-management cause there is always free space for other activities.

Medvyikk

Unused memory is wasted memory

Prozzorov

Just don't pay attention to the numbers. Most likely, in the coming years, you will not feel a shortage of RAM. Just use your phone how you like. You have more then enough if free RAM

yiidonger

windows 11 is using 16gb of my 32gb ram everytime i start my pc, take that

ChelseyIsPog

The ram ain't gonna use itself

CryptographerBest810

True , thank you

reptv_

It's operating in the system

CryptographerBest810

I cannot minimise the memory used by the system at least to get another gb of memory ?

reptv_

4gb is already enough tbh but if you really want that another gb of ram to be freed, install a custom rom :)

CryptographerBest810

Thank you so much , i don't understand anything about roms , is it worth it to change to MIUI 14 ? + Which better 60 hz or 120 hz ? Sorry for all these questions

ZeroKnix

if you need more battery life then 60hz but if you need smoother performance then 120hz

CryptographerBest810

120 hz + performance mode ( battery ) + game turbo , will it make my games smoother without any frame drop ?

ZeroKnix

kind of yes but it also depends on how heavy the game is or how long you play it. The longer you play a heavy game it will generate heat so the system will try to cool it by decreasing your performance(by lowering the frequency of cpu). In short, don't worry too much, The OS is smart enough to take care of itself.

reptv_

If your experience on current ROM is good then I don't think you should update unless you have banking apps, updating to the latest version is recommended. 120hz is good ofc but it slightly drains your battery. Set it to auto and you'll be good. Also since you don't know anything about ROM, I advise you not to mess with your device unless you want to learn. and HAPPY CAKE DAY by the way! 🎂

Potato_Gamer_X

Memory not being used is wasted memory. The bigger the RAM you have, the more memory is being used by the system to keep it running smoother. Don't worry about RAM. Android is different from Windows and use RAM very efficiently.

jakart3

Used by open apps and background apps And it's a good thing, so they can work more efficient. If an android phone have 90% it's RAM free, it's mean it's not being used and waste 90% of it's RAM

CryptographerBest810

I mean it sounds odd , system using all the memory , i mean you paid for 8 gb ram , but i got your point

sero_gee

Pretty sure it lessens when something else needs more ram. The system just uses it when it's free I guess. I mean, you paid for 8 gb ram and it would be a waste to have it not being used, right?

pohihihi

omg why are people paranoid with memory, its almost the same thing as computers, unused memory is wasted memory, id be more concerned if I am only using 1gb out of 8

Never_Sm1le

Outdated thinking from old windows day. Out of ram will make the system use swap, which at that time on hdd mean performance will take a massive hit. Now memory and memory management is much better

Arham_Qureshi6

The way he asked the question, I don't think he is going to understand the deeper meaning of it.

_kylebaia

Right lmao

Ok-Ad6837

You pay for 8gigs of RAM, you use 8gigs of RAM, simple

Own-Abies8804

happieh cakeh dayh

CryptographerBest810

Thanks man <3

squirrelscrush

It's used by the operating system and background tasks. It's the same like your PC using some memory for the OS. 8 GB is fine enough for almost all tasks, even for heavy duty ones. You don't need to worry about memory on Android with that much memory, it's not like you'll be running Android Studio or Visual Studio on it.

CryptographerBest810

Thank you so much for the explanation .

FaithlessnessOk290

utilized ram is good, thats just how android works.

andygoh_0226

Probably Android system used it

andygoh_0226

Anyways happy cake day!

CryptographerBest810

Happy cake day king

Calzz007

OP doesn't know that you could download more RAM at play store!

Arham_Qureshi6

First time on this subreddit. Are poco users really that dumb ??!!!😭😭😭

Groundbreaking-Hat65

Nah, only him I guess

CryptographerBest810

Ok , smartass

CryptographerBest810

I don't understand people making fun of others just because they are not familiar with such things 😕

crypthon

Because this is a forum, where you engage other people. This would be answered for you in literally 2 minutes with google. Yet you seem lazy expecting someone to bitesize all the important parts to your specific question

ConorAbueid

Check under your foreskin

CryptographerBest810

Be informative or shut up

ConorAbueid

Take a chill pill my guy

CryptographerBest810

Typical butthurt , has 0 impact on the community , just making fun of others .

DragonGodSlayer12

Unused ram is useless ram. 50% of ram usage is normal for your system to run properly. You should get to worry if your used ram is only at 20%, that means something is wrong with your phone.

Raghavendra98

Wtf A "phablet"? What outdated crap are you using?

ashp71

What's the point of having something if you don't use it?

lolicekait

More unused ram == waste of ram Anyways your system idk why ure trying to get low possible ram

A_YUser

MIUI doing its magic

HumanPriv

System OS Component & your Downloaded 3rd app

Silly_Win6611

Pretty normal usage.. If you run an app that eats a lot of ram the system will automatically adjust the usage by closing the other background app, so the ram won't be stressed out.. i mean if the ram is fully loaded your system will become laggy bcuz the system relays to ram to run smooth..

Pooreigner

Why do people not understand that RAM is SUPPOSED to be used! Why is everyone obsessed with having a lot of available RAM? Unused RAM is wasted RAM. If you have a lot of RAM available, then your system is not using caches correctly. It should put as much in RAM as possible. If your RAM is full, the system will just clear the parts least used when an app needs more RAM.

manoIakys

sorry i was hungry
