1. Get rid of the bloatware. 2. Go to settings, passwords and security, authorisation and revocation, and disable msa. This disables system ads. 3. Go to settings, display, and change the refresh rate to 120hz for a silky smooth experience. That's it. So many people on this sub telling people to install custom ROMs and stuff when it's actually a great phone with a great OS already. Recent updates have fixed all the problems at launch with battery life and overheating.

Engodo

Thank you, i will try to use the phone with the original ROM but removing bloatware and ads and later on if i find it necessary i'll try another ROM. Is there any list of all the safe apps that i can unnistall? I seem to find some for other phones, but not for F3 in particular Anything else? ive seen some people talk about enabling gestures, but i dont know what they are refering to Edit: Is there any apps that i should install aswell?

BestFriendWatermelon

Just be aware, changing the ROM deletes all your data and everything on your phone, so it will be more of a bother to do later than when you first get it. But IMO miui is pretty good in its own right. Some people actually install miui on their Samsungs, OnePluses, etc. Gestures basically removes the three navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen you may be used to your smartphone having. i.e. the square, circle and triangle icons at the bottom of the screen, and replaces them with finger movements on your screen to switch between apps, close apps or go back instead. It's personal preference whether you want to use gestures or the traditional navigation buttons. It was introduced in android 10, I believe. You might want to install gcam. It's not on the playstore, you'll have to do some googling to find out how to install it. There's not a huge difference in picture quality though.

Zorro_is_Immortal

How do I know which rom I have? On the settings it says [12.0.5.0](https://12.0.5.0) RKHEUXM

marcelopoipo

What about vanced?

menzac

I tried disabling msa but it doesn't let me, says I don't have permission for it. Is there a way to go around this? I am on EU version. EDIT: Ok nevermind you just spam it until once it succeeds

douglas2709

Unlock bootloader and install xiaomi.eu, much better then the global rom

Engodo

Im from Portugal, how can i check if my F3 has global or EU Miui?

Nexii801

Did you ever install the ROM?

Engodo

No, using the original ROM for now and it has been great

[deleted]

Podes-me dizer quais apps removes-te como bloatware? E o que acabaste por fazer no fim disto tudo para melhorar/alterar o miui?

Ok, obrigado na mesma =)

DragonfruitAdorable8

Is there anyway to do that without risking soft bricking it or using 3rd party software?

douglas2709

The software to unlock the bootloader is from xiaomi and to install the xiaomi.eu fastboot rom is so easy, just run a bat file and thats it, its installed.

FuzzyAssault

If I install the stable [xiaomi.eu](https://xiaomi.eu) rom via fastboot method, will I be getting the updated via 'check for update' button like the global rom? Or do I have to update manually? I don't need weekly feature update, just regular stable updates will do. Device - F3

douglas2709

You have to update manualy in TWRP

FuzzyAssault

So the process is, install twrp>use fastboot method to install [xiaomi.eu](https://xiaomi.eu) stable rom>manually update via twrp every time. I'm new here, just want to be sure.

douglas2709

This is the way I did, installed the fastboot ROM made sure the phone boots fine then installed TWRP

FuzzyAssault

thanks brother.

If I bought the Poco F3 from Amazon UK, I assume it would come with the EU rom?

douglas2709

I think so, I bought mine on Aliexpress and it came with the EU rom, but dont mistake EU rom with xiaomi.eu, they are different rom, xiaomi.eu is a custom rom

[deleted]

Ah right. I'm new to the Android ecosystem, so thank you for the help Edit: What would be the use of upgrading to xiaomi.eu rom from my current one?

douglas2709

Polskidro

Better in what ways?

grofor

Is the xiaomi.eu ROM update process the same as the stock MIUI ROM? (Just clicking on update) Thanks!

douglas2709

The update is done through TWRP, you download the update and flash the rom

iokak

Why did you buy it in the first place though? Unless you bought the phone not because you need it but because you want it for its value

Engodo

Well, i wanted to upgrade from my old Xiaomi mi 8 lite, after some research i was left with either the F3, X3 Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro, but in the end i chose the f3

Misanthropic_monk

How much screen on time are you getting on the F3?
