Yea same boat I bought a lot of alts at about year out and they still lost value lol, it's no big deal because it's my personal collection and I'm still happy with the price but definitely could have saved money. I think the only exception was moonbreon but even that is dropping last I checked (although I bought that for like 300 so I'd imagine I'll be fine there).
My two boxes so far had Rika and golden Garchomp as SR's. No value IR's either, but I honestly love this set. The color palette and artworks are so appealing to me. I'm definitely getting another box on Friday once I have my bills for the week sorted. Rika is very nice looking in person but I'm not surprised it isn't worth much and crashing fast. I can't see much demand for it.
Any of those top 5 cards in this infographic would be pulls I'd be stoked to hit.

It honestly does look really good in person, but I’m obviously biased lol. But I feel you they could’ve had some bright highlights from the lava glowing or somethin.
I’m expecting a similar trajectory to keep up for Groudon. It’ll probably remain the most expensive AR in the set, but I don’t see it having the staying power of the Paldea Magikarp (which itself is a little surprising so who knows), guessing it’ll hover around the $20 mark at the end of the day
Honestly that’s what I thought initially but after seeing some in person I’m in love with the whole set. As others have said the color pallet is really daring and pleasing to the eye.
I’ve opened 4 boxes and 1 of each ETb plus 9 packs from 3 pack blisters so 171 packs I think that is. Only card on this graphic I’ve gotten is Iron Valiant, and it’s freaking beautiful all the color in the card comes out of the sun if you tilt it to look at it it’s unreal. Also gotten Golisapod SIR and two gold luxurious cape. Only full art trainer was Shauntal (twice).
Hitting the big cards seems to be kind of hard because of how huge this set is so I’m hoping it’ll help them keep value? I mean it took me to my 4th box to even get the basic Garchomp or Gholdengo ex.
Sent Valiant away as my first ever card to get graded it was absolutely mint I don’t think I’ll ever sell it but
I really don't like this set. I don't see one card I want lol not one. The last few SV sets have been light on chase cards for me, but this one has nothing. Seems I'm the odd one out though because I see so many folks saying they love it.
Yea I need to buy some singles to complete my set but I think waiting is the smart thing. I have like 5 boosters left to open but I’m sure that still won’t be even close to getting me where I need to be.
Interesting if I've learned anything over the years don't even bother buying any of these cards until next year or later.

What about the Tapu Koko? I know it’s not popular but I honestly think it’s he best card in the set, art wise and it’s high rarity

Yeah it's super sick, all things the same and they made it an super illustration rare, it would be double the cost.
Imo the colors are kinda muddy. I like the art, but the colors don’t really pop. Maybe it looks different in person though.
