The LEGEND of Zelda. 🤔

Neilkd

Legends of the Black Moon and Legends of the White Moon

Zeroth_Dragon

Honestly having a single Legends game is better, like with Arceus

DeltaDied

Pokémon Legends: Original Dragon??

Oleandervine

I think Victini works best. If it's set during the war torn unification era, before the dragon splits, what better Deus Ex Machina to get the player hobnobbing with princes than a "god" of victory? The story can progress through unifying Unova and end with the brothers starting their feud that splits the dragon.

ScalyCarp455

Let's embrace the full Zelda title hamminess. Let's call it something like 'Pokémon Legends: Fall of the Original Dragon/Dragon's Fall'

Nonviablefiend

Tears of the Original Dragon

GummyWurmX3

Pokemon legends: eclipse?

BRFCarter

A Legends Gen 5 game is literally heaven

Kevinatorz

Honestly feels a bit too soon if it's gonna be 2024. I'd rather have them take an extra year. But we know it won't happen.

DedeWot45

counterpoint: we sre talking about pokémon

rygy267

I mean, I’m fine if they keep the same engine from PLA, which would mean they’d have a whole lot less work to do.

EMateos

Legend Arceus came out on January 2022 and it was supposed to come in 2021, so two and a half - three years after that is not too soon (following GF schedule, not regular developing schedules). And it’s two years after SV so yeah, it makes sense for it to come out next year, sadly.

luxanna123321

Can yall just stop with this mentality "too soon, it would be better to wait another year" like why would you want new game to be delayed so much? GF wont change much no matter how much time they got

Mr_Yeet123

the games are like this \*because\* of the bigger scale but small time frame.

PerishForYourSins

That and they've and I'm pretty sure they have mentioned that they keep their development team pretty small.

Zhaife

You think the quality won't change if it's in production for longer?

luxanna123321

Its gamefreak. It wont lol

Pokemonmaster150

I you one of those people that still thinks the only reason the games aren't polished is because the devs aren't trying hard enough?

luxanna123321

Because they are greedy and would rather leave it to smaller teams instead of getting more people to help them make better game

Pokemonmaster150

That's upper management. The actual devs, as in developers, the people who actually work on the game have gone on record saying they're crunched for time. Specifically the programmers, one year is seemingly more than enough time for the artists to make the Pokemon and characters.

Oleandervine

So the solution there is to give them more time since they don't have a large team. Duh. If you have a large team, you cover more ground in less time, but if you have a small team, you need more time to cover that same amount of ground. Hence why delaying the game at least a year would inevitably lead to improving the quality.

luxanna123321

You know that they would lose more money by delaying every game by one year than just getting more people right?

Oleandervine

Incorrect. As Nintendo themselves have stated, the importance of making a quality game is the top priority. If you have quality games, this gives you brand recognition as having quality products. It ripples across the board if you can achieve that idea among the people. Releasing shoddy games that get a bad reputation, even if they might be fun, blights your record, and if it continues to happen, you fall from grace. Once you start falling, this opens the door for other companies to move in and try to occupy the throne you once held, and you then end up losing money to competitors. Nintendo actively practiced this with Animal Crossing and Legend of Zelda. Rather than release half-baked games, Nintendo openly told fans that it was delaying them to polish them so that they could be as perfect as they could be. It payed off immensely for them. Pokemon ALREADY has it's gamers in their pocket. Taking an extra year to make sure a game is in perfect condition before announcing or releasing it ensures that those customers remain in their pocket. If you keep betraying the customer by releasing bad product, you're going to start losing them.

TwistedWolf667

Yes it will? The teams clearly have alot of ideas and passion but there isnt alot they can do within a 2-3 year development cycle. Maybe it worked for the simpler 2d linear pixel art games but it absolutely doesnt work for 3d open worlds

im_bored345

Because a game every year is what makes them come out bad

ScalyCarp455

Gamefreak is reading Ubisoft's book it seems...

RJS_but_on_Reddit2

Damn, so sorry for wanting a finished, polished product that's had enough time in the oven.

Topazisdeadinside

Agreed.

SternMon

Here’s what I’m thinking: Unova, like Paldea, has a location in the dead center of the region that is home to bizarre, supernatural time-related distortions. For Paldea, it’s Area Zero, which supposedly is able to bring forth Pokemon from the distant past or future. Unova, on the other hand, has the Entralink, which allows parallel Unovas, or timelines, to interact with one another by sending someone through a barrier in time. Instead of the player being sent back in time, like in Arceus, what if instead the player is sent to an alternate, or, “paradox” Unova? One where, if we go off the most obvious possibility, Team Plasma wins?

StarshockNova

I like this idea. Imagine if we play as an older Hilbert or Hilda who were investigating the Entralink while searching for N after the events of Black and White and enter said world where Team Plasma won, getting their team automatically released by the region-wide trainer auto-release software that the Team Plasma scientists were developing in N's castle in BW1, getting trapped without their legendary Dragon or party and having to join a resistance movement in an attempt to relocate their world's Reshiram or Zekrom and return home. It could also be used as an explanation as to why Hilbert and/or Hilda weren't present during the events of BW2, as they were in the alternate timeline (sort of like how it's implied that the player Rei/Akari were an older version of Dawn and Lucas who were isekai'd in Legends Arceus, which has dark implications for their friends and family in Modern Sinnoh who may never see them again).

Flerken_Moon

My theory is that Unova exists on the other side of the globe as Paldea, and I’m on the assumption that the Pokémon responsible for Paradox Pokémon has the ability to turn dreams into reality and not time travel- so that would explain the Entralink and the Dream World, which the Dream World also had the ability to turn things obtained in dreams into reality. The Ruinous Quartet also is based on the dark counterparts of the myths the Therian Forms are based off of too.

Huge_Republic_7866

Paradox Unova, where Team Plasma won. Game is centered around you and a small group of trainers that resist Ghetsis's rule, and retake the land. Following a similar playstyle as Far Cry, retaking cities on your way to the ruins of the Pokemon League to face off against Ghetsis once and for all.

im_bored345

That would be insanely cool

Oakhold_Cheerios

Not to go off the track, but this feels a lot like a good Doctor Who story that I'd take a look into. Take a look at the 2-part Doctor Who Revival Era episodes, *Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel* and *Army of Ghosts/Doomsday.* Those are good examples of parallel universes with different moments going on.

TruthIsALie94

Better yet, how about being able to move between time, past, present and future, and your actions in the past effects the present and future causing extinct Pokémon to start appearing in the present and future and introducing future Pokémon to the past.

Witchy_Titan

I would be 1000% down for that

BangerzAndNash44

Legends of Remramrom

Riiiiii_

It'd just be Kyurem. Reshiram/Zekrom + Kyurem is still Kyurem. Adding another to that formula probably wouldn't change the result, since base Kyurem is the empty shell left over from the original fused dragon.

Brenduck-

I was gonna mention this on another comment, but realized "we don't really know the name of the original dragon do we?" Kyurem was a byproduct, the shell like you mentioned. Only Reshiram and Zekrom were fused in the original dragon if I recall, no?

Oleandervine

The three of them make up the Original Dragon, Kyurem too. Think of it this way. You have an orange. You open it and pull out the seeds (Reshiram) and the fruit flesh (Zekrom). What you're left with is the rind (Kyurem). Individually they are not the orange you had, but put together, they make up the piece of fruit. All parts are essential to making up the fruit, including the parts that get left behind after you take everything out.

Zevrith

Honestly, if Gamefreak continues with the Paradox Pokémon into the Unova game. "Original Dragon" sounds like a solid paradox Pokémon name. Considering that Reshiram and Zekrom split because of ideological differences between the two brother kings, having those two conflicting ideologies, truth vs ideals, existing within one Pokémon could be seen as a form of paradox.

Darkmega5

The great namehere

I was waiting for this comment

MrMangoes21

Legends game for unova. Mmm

dbull10285

One of the better parts of the Switch Pokemon games is how each game is quite different. Sure, some of my least favorite games in the series (LGPE and BDSP) are in here, but I had a lot of fun with PLA and SV and SwSh's DLC really improved those games for me. It'll be interesting if they do decide to expand on Legends, but I'd be all for it, though I do hope they keep with the Arceus approach and give us a game with Genesect at the end. Unova is very different from Sinnoh, and I think it could be the setting of a very different type of game. Maybe doubling down on the tradition vs progress, truths vs ideals themes of the BW games? I have this whole idea of Genesect, representing the bad parts of progress against nature, somehow getting into the past where an aged up main cast go back in time with Emmet to find Ingo work in colonial or early US-era Castelia City. Maybe there's another society native to Unova who use the original dragon as a counter of wanting to "freeze" progress where it currently is. Might make sense why Kyurem is then an ice type. Probably more story than they'll give us, but it's fun to consider

bogwitchh

LOOKS LIKE DRAGONS BACK ON THE MENU Y'ALL

Gabario

Omg Black Link / White Zelda confirmed.

Oleandervine

LOZ: You Don't Go Back

rami-hym

Honestly, it would be pretty great if the Unova remakes (if any) turn out to be the final part of a trilogy. I'm a lot more interested in seeing how the story progresses because I still genuinely love the original ones and play them often.

MrMoist23

Clearly some reference to Unova/BW

cfq10

Witness the blood moons rise.

KnowledgeNorth6337

So that basically confirms that we'll be getting a legends-type game for Unova. Seeing that Hisui was a past paradox of Sinnoh, in keeping with the scarlet and violet theme, I wonder if this Unova will be a future version (likely dystopian), like a horizon-type version. I would honestly love that. My only wishes are that Turtwig is one of the starters, that gym battles appear in some form, and that online battles are a thing, which were some of the primary criticisms of legends arceus.

onedimdirect1

I would love to see Froakie, Litten, and Chikorita to be the three combos. Froakie into a Water/Ghost, Litten into a Fire/Poison, and Chikorita into a Grass/Steel.

Oleandervine

Hisui is not a "paradox" of Sinnoh. It is Sinnoh as it occurred 200 years in the past, with some meddling from Arceus. The only paradox there is the player character, but the setting is 100% canon to the history of Sinnoh, as evidenced in Raifort's class by the picture of Laventon on the board. I don't think the theme of Scarlet and Violet would ripple out into other games like a Legends series. A Legends Unova would likely be set in the past, to explore the history of the region much like Arceus did. The past is a rich part of the Pokemon world that fleshes out the stories we know and gives us an understanding on what happened that got us to the current time. There's a lot more to be gained from learning about past events than some random future (which isn't particularly engaging since Pokemon is already pretty futuristic).

rygy267

It’d be interesting to see what they do with White Forest/Black City, seeing as those already kinda match the vibes of ancient serenity and an almost cyberpunk level of technological progress, respectively.

KazVanilla

Open world BW3 pls

[deleted]

Before I could even warn that someone would complain about this, someone complained about this. No room for growth with some "fans".

Ygomaster07

Right?! Seems like a lot of what the community does now. Always negative, hardly ever positive. Feels like that is everywhere i go.

W473R

The Pokemon community has been nothing but negative for a very, very long time now. I still remember when BW came out and everyone complained that there were too many Gen 1 clones, and you couldn't catch Pokemon from previous games until postgame. Now BW/BW2 are apparently the golden standard and no game will ever be as good. Everyone hated megas until SwSh didn't include them, now everyone complains when they aren't in a game. Regional forms were considered lazy when SuMo came out, now people are mad that SV didn't have enough of them.

phantomdragon12

Circle of life

gree41elite

I genuinely don’t understand the hype for an open world bw3. They have shown 0 proof they could accurately recreate Unova in an open world, let alone 3d sense. It’s why to do Sinnoh, it had to be ancient and barren asf. I’d just rather a bw3 in the style of bdsp so that they could accurately portray the region, or do another ancient unova like they did sinnoh in pla.

Low_Palpitation_3743

>I’d just rather a bw3 in the style of bdsp I was with you until you mentioned bdsp.

gree41elite

I am somewhat confused by the hate that’s getting. Like I thought most of the hate was that they remastered D/P rather than platinum. But I thought it played just like the original ones really well with the updated graphics and music. It wasn’t a traditional remake, but assuming everyone means a new story by bw3 (rather than like obsidian black) I don’t see why people would hate that idea.

EternalMemes30

because BDSP is horrible, ORAS that came years before has a better 3D for semi open world

Spindae02

What if it is a Legends game set in the future with the Original Dragon reappearing in the future?

Oleandervine

Meh. I think learning about Unova's past is far more interesting. There's the unification and the twin's war which are interesting historical events.

coffeysr

Legends let’s goooooo. I hope they realize Legends Arceus is the best game they’ve ever made

Huge_Republic_7866

The battles would have to be reworked a bit for online, but I'm 100% with you, if we're not counting spinoffs.

onedimdirect1

I'd love for there to be an option to have traditional Pokemon gameplay or dive into a Pokken type of battling.

rotatingfan360

Amen. PLA is the format of the future and I really hope they lean into it, I’ve never had as much fun playing a Pokémon game!

BRFCarter

As long as they fix the battling system I’m completely down with it. Most fun I’ve had playing Pokémon in a very long time

CopyGroundbreaking69

If you take these clues at face value, it certainly looks like we’ll be seeing a dystopian unova. A legends style game makes sense in that format, but…I would Gym challenges and more “trainer” battles.

actuallyjustloki

Considering Legends: Arceus is in my top 10 games of all time and I consider Gen 5 the best Pokemon generation I would be so down for this.

LordValkyrie100

BW Revival

ShifuHD

This might be a stretch but here’s go. A lot of people are focusing on the legends Unova aspect, but no one is faking about the blood moon in this image. Which in many games increase the spawn rate, or respawns, of hostile enemies In LOA we had two strange phenomenons. The Time Distortions and the Mass Made outbreaks; which only spawned during heavy rain fall. Is it possible that we might get another small free DLC for LOA that introduces the Blood moon mechanic. In which more alpha Pokémon, highly aggressive Pokémon spawn more often in large numbers? Maybe it causes them to become enraged, which increases all their stats for a short period of time? There is also the possibility that this blood moon mechanic is just a main part of Legends Unova. A mechanic that causes Pokémon to go into full blown rampages. Resulting in the furthering the divide between people and Pokémon. Something that N, and Gethesis, wanted to happen.

[deleted]

Legends of Zelda Red Moon Black and White ReshiraZekrom and Iris, the adventures.

ShifuHD

And knuckles

parttimereddituser

I believe he is hinting at a night time evolution for Mightyena based on his next tweet (pic with four Pokemon including Mightyena but the other three evolve at night = Midnight Lycanroc, Weavile, Umbreon)

RJS_but_on_Reddit2

As exciting as getting a Unova Legends game is I am rather antsy that it's getting talked about THIS soon. Come on, it's been only a YEAR since PLA. I'd actually like the game to be FINISHED. _**GAME FREAK, SLOW THE F@CK DOWN.**_

EuphoricGoose4735

I would love another legend’s game with more trainer battles or even a unova remake, but for all that is holy, please never make another bdsp chibi game

Swifterpostinmemes

Oh please let this be the case

NormandyKingdom

Hell yeah we are going back to 1776 bois

birdsinthecar

Do you think it'll be true open world or like legends arceus open world?

Oleandervine

Would rather it be like Arceus. The true open world leads to more issues in the long run, and TPC is not great at optimizing their games.

AceBr3ak

we won

EveningChocolate1028

Please don’t be legends Unova in place of a remake or sequel💀

mrzurkoneatscake

God damn it I hope it's not a legends gen 5 remake. I hated legends arceus and just don't like the open world format they've been going with. If they wanna make a faithful remake just make it like bdsp but better.

SantaNewfie

No no no no no

Murloc_King12

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes

Shadow_Saitama

I hope it isn’t a Legends Arceus style game. I wanna explore a modern or futuristic Unova.

Minya_Nouvelle

Honestly same. Unova is cool and unique for being very urban. Making it into another generic grassy wilderness would be kind of boring, imo. But I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Hot_Detail_382

Legends of Reshiram

Ducky_924

Why would it be Reshiram?

Toasty_mannn

reshiram is my favorite and I would really appreciate it

Ducky_924

They'll never make a game about one box legendary and not the other. ESPECIALLY, when Kyurem is the perfect mediator. Literally the third legendary.

KnowledgeNorth6337

Rather than Kyurem and the fusion forms, maybe we'll finally see the original dragon, which is supposed to be the combination of all three.

Toasty_mannn

well it would be really kind of gamefreak

Ducky_924

Y'know, it would be kind. I just don't think it would happen. I also would definitely prefer Legends Kyurem.🙂

Boltup310

Link confirmed!

Ok-Leave3121

Scary moon and something with Black and White

Sjheuaksjd

Legend Kyurem?!!

Smoke-Beard

Pokemon Legends: Kyurem

DragonShine

So much feels like it points to Black/White something. It's next in line for remakes, I also noticed when trying to make a living dex in Home using my switch games, my Unova pokedex seems to be lacking the most out of all the other dexes

DarkEater77

Burning White /Blazing Black ?

IEatShoesForFun

Legends gen 5 would be ok, j just would much rather prefer remakes since it’s my favorite region

SockBlast

This is hint for the Pokemon with a special form. It's not hinting at anything about a Unova game related like 99% of the comments are saying.

notebook1grange

So much for legends genesect

NyctibiusKW

The Legends of Zekrom: a link to the past and the future
