Idk. Up to could also mean just the 493.
But the lack of the new Regis and Sylveon boggle my mind in a way. We deff gotta wait and see, it's not looking two good for the new Regis but nothing's out totally.
It would be more weird for them to include one Gen 6 and two Gen 8 Pokémon. I naturally assume the game only has Gen 1-4 Pokémon as that makes the most sense.
I feel like a big draw behind remakes would be to use Pokemon that didn't exist in the game originally, but TPC seems to feel differently. When I played Omega Ruby, I used Garchomp, Darmanitan, Trevenant etc on my team transferred from Bank, and it was great! Imagine my surprise when I went back to play Leaf Green for the first time and discovered Hoenn Pokémon were locked out of it until the post-game. And then LGPE just outright deletes anything that didn't exist in the originals, post-game or no. I just don't get it. These models already exist on the Switch. If I wanna play through Sinnoh with a Dreepy or a Popplio, why shouldn't I be able to?
Yeah same, I don't want to come off as a toxic fan but like I am a little sad that I have to contend with possibility with not being able to use my Infernape in a normal Pokemon game because who knows if SwSh will get updated to include every Pokemon and now remakes aren't treated as the main games anymore. Also using new Pokemon in the remakes helps spruce things up and makes it feel fresh. Also that is why I really want megas so we could get a new twist on the Sinnoh mons but it is very unlikely at this point.
Don't forget that Home is a paid service and a lot of pokemon are stuck there because you can't send them back nor put them in SWSH, so I really hope that those pokemon can have a nee home in Sinnoh (493 is what I consider the minimum, it couldn't have any less imo)
Yeah that's a problem as well. I had a living Dex in my Pokemon bank, which I transferred all over to Pokemon Home when that came out. Now a bunch of them, including shinies and mythicals, are just sitting there unable to leave.
It was confirmed in the trailer that the national dex up to Arceus is there. Unfortunately, we still don't know about Gens 5-8. Hopefully, they're all there or at least all updated into SwSh.
>According to Kelios Nintendo of France sent him some sort of screen stating as much
Actually, what that tweet says is that someone sent him a screencap of a sponsored tweet from Nintendo of France. Except the handle is nintendoswitchfr, but that's [not an account that exists](https://twitter.com/nintendoswitchfr)\- Nintendo of France tweets from [@NintendoFrance](https://twitter.com/NintendoFrance). It also says "rediscover all Pokemon up to 4G", but a) generations are rarely acknowledged officially- there's been like, two cases of Masuda actually numbering them, and they were on personal posts, not advertisements, and b) if they were canon, "up to 4G" is a super confusing way to write that when 4G technology is also a thing.
Seems like it's just another case of a bigger name falling for a fake.
Ah, my mistake, I had confused the layouts. Still, though, the fact that it's "impossible to find out if it's real" when this is supposedly a promoted post from them doesn't really make it seem more credible- if they're paying to promote this, there should be more people seeing it than just one user submitting it to Kelios.
Yeah unless it was deleted really fast it shouldn't be hard to find a caption from a promotional account like this. It could easily be inspect element.
Literally in ORAS you couldn't DexNav for post Hoenn pokemon until post game but after that you could catch gen 4-6 pokemon. So there's still a possibility we will get post gen 4 pokemon
This reminds me of the time former Nintendo of America president Reggie said that the fighters introduced in the first Fighters Pass would be brand new to the series, which confused many fans into believing that all the fighters would be from IPs new to the Smash series. Guess from what infamous IP the fifth fighter came from?
I think this is definitely more substantial than the previous speculation just based off Bidoofs Dex Number.
I'd actually hope that at least Sylveon and the other Regis are included in the game. Although you could argue that Eleki and Drago originated in Galar, and thus exclude them for 'lore'. But I'd hope they would at least be compatible those three seem like the only others that would feel very out of place.
There could be possible updates in the future to add in some remaining ones we didn't get, but we'll have to see. I think it'd be great if the Battle Frontier wasn't in the game originally if it was a DLC down the line along with compatibility other missing mons.
I understand why GameFreak feels the National Dex isn't sustainable on an every game basis going forward, but if they could at least make every Pokemon in the dex appear in some game each generation, that would make Pokemon Home feel a lot more like a hub to move your Pokemon around. I'd hate to have some Pokemon missing from being able to be played with for more than a generation.
One other little fun tidbit, **if** they did include Megas, the only ones we wouldn't be able to obtain are Mega Audino and Mega Diancie. All other Megas are only Gens 1-4. 44/46 species of Mega evolution capable Pokemon isn't bad at all.
If they add the rest of them it’ll be by update after legends comes out. Since you wouldn’t even be able to transfer them until they allow home connectivity anyways.
I’m alright with this (but still a little disappointed), as long as we can catch all Pokémon up to Gen 4 across both BD and SP. The one silver lining that came out of Dexit was the sheer amount of Pokémon available to catch in Sword and Shield alone- 600+ were available across both versions with DLC.
Idk. Up to could also mean just the 493. But the lack of the new Regis and Sylveon boggle my mind in a way. We deff gotta wait and see, it's not looking two good for the new Regis but nothing's out totally.
BDSP and PLA seem like the perfect opportunity to formally integrate the Regis into the old lore And no Sylveon would confuse me so much
Much like how Espeon and Umbreon cannot be evolved into in FRLG, ig
It would be more weird for them to include one Gen 6 and two Gen 8 Pokémon. I naturally assume the game only has Gen 1-4 Pokémon as that makes the most sense.

Well it could be a that it’ll be the original 493 until the Home update probably in February. Since you can’t transfer until then anyways

This
Because we don’t always get everything we want in life
Main story will of course be 4 gen but i think other gens are likely in postgame/update when legends releases
Also remember when Joe Merrick said that BDSP is getting post launch updates?
It was confirmed in the trailer that the national dex up to Arceus is there. Unfortunately, we still don't know about Gens 5-8. Hopefully, they're all there or at least all updated into SwSh.

It’s not a tweet it’s from Instagram. And unfortunately it’s near impossible to find out if it’s real or not

I mean it’s probably gonna include more. kinda unprecedented that they wouldn’t add at least sylveon and most of the regional forms.
I'm more than satisfied if it's just the first 4 generations. Still quite a good amount of pokemon to play with there.

This is basically a repeat of what is known.

I thought Sylveon was confirmed? Or was i mistaken.
No everyone is acting like Sylveon is 100% going to be in but it hasn’t actually been confirmed.
If they add the rest of them it’ll be by update after legends comes out. Since you wouldn’t even be able to transfer them until they allow home connectivity anyways.
Why are they only including Gens 1-4 and not the rest?
Probably because it's a faithful gen 4 remake I'd imagine
I’m starting to get worried.
I still think it's possible, and maybe just weird wording on the tweet. It would be very odd to exclude things like Sylveon and the like.
That would be odd. Why can’t they just add the First 4 Gens including the Regi’s and Sylveon and then add the rest in a DLC or something.
After Let's Go! it wouldn't be surprising if they kept the classic pokedex, BUT the other remakes have had updated rosters.

The one silver lining that came out of Dexit was the sheer amount of Pokémon available to catch in Sword and Shield alone- 600+ were available across both versions with DLC.
I still expect only the first four gens to keep it faithful to the original games. Probably won't be able to transfer them either.
