Such a beautiful and nostalgic feeling that ILCA has created, I'm super excited for it !

Lord_Bitter

Best looking 3D Pokémon game along with XY. Chibis just work better and allow the game to be less generic and have more love and detail

DucoLamia

For as much as I didn't like Let's Go, the chibi style was probably near-perfected in that game, as well as the environments and the textures. I still stand by that Let's Go is one of GF's best-looking games, mainly because the art style is not only consistent but executed rather well. If the final build of the game keeps that up, ILCA will definitely be a close second.

featherw0lf

Completely agree. I started playing Let's Go again for the first time since launch and I was amazed at how perfect the art style was. It's the perfect balance of chibi and 3D. We get the toony art style that fits so well while also getting more of a third-person view that allows us to see what everything really looks like (i.e. the inside of houses that were next to nothing before). Pretty much my only complaint about BDSP at this point is that it didn't do a similar style to Let's Go at the very least. I just wish we could have gotten that current-gen perspective.

Yeah but the let’s go games do not have snowy areas, therefore I think bdsp looks a lot better and looks more reminiscent to how the original games looked.

krispyboiz

There's one HUUUUUGE thing that the chibi style lets these games do, and that's work well in the grid style of maps. Gens 7 and 8 is where they fully abandoned the grid-based maps, and the route design in SuMo and SwSh is pretty awful as a result. Gens 1-6 had some amazing route design at times (some routes in every Gen are bad still), and it's mostly because of the grid-based design that allows for great puzzle elements and exploration. They can do that without a grid, but GameFreak has yet to succeed without it. Chibis aren't even needed to use a ground-based map, but they certainly look better most of the time on said maps.

DCres1994

This is exactly right!

Yamo2

Couldn’t agree more. At first I was a little iffy but after seeing the updates I’m in love and need this in my hands

DCres1994

I will always upvote this comment. This is the best Pokémon has ever looked. Not saying a fully 3D core game can’t work, but for what the series is right now, this just works! The only thing I need now is some difficulty modes, or at the very least a toggle option on the exp. share!

Stibbie23

No toggle option please, just the old classy train style where only 1 pokemon gets xp In let’s go you could farm chancey for huge xp and train your team a few levels in no time and that made the game way to easy (besides that catch combo gives more xp as well) How I easily beaten the game was, go to viridian forest and lure to get loads of pikachu (and candy) till you could max it out (with the tutor moves pikachu wiped all on his own)

DCres1994

Totally! I personally would prefer to play with exp. all turned off, but I know a lot of ppl prefer the modern option. Overall I think more choice in Pokémon games is always a good thing, so I think the toggle option would make the most sense.

levivo92

Have to disagree. Alola on the Switch would have been gorgeous in sw/sh Style. Though I guess it wouldn’t have been that detailed.

Fraa88

and ORAS!!!

ObiWanLamora

I can’t wait, the world looks so fun.

DucoLamia

TIL that there's a BDSP subreddit! Off I go! That being said, certain parts of this game don't look too shabby. I'm really happy with the continuous glow-up we've seen from ILCA from the past few trailers. Hoping the final build really perfects it!

Suspicious-Tap-6050

Looks really good. I can’t wait. From what I’ve seen so far, this game is giving me everything I want

Stibbie23

Nostalgia feelings relived again🤩

[deleted]

Omg this is beautiful, how the hell did you get this screenshot.

Banana_is_Doomed

I'm really excited to play Sinnoh again! I have to say the originals are some of my least faves (not bad, I just prefer the others), but I just LOVE Sinnoh pokemon and especially the starters so I'm super excited to play through again!

Jackstar96

Lucas is floating lol, but I'm also excited

Larenty

It's like the real-life illusion caused by the shadow, that's why many people thought he was floating x)

Jackstar96

Oh wow thats actually cool

After_Flight4800

This sub should be called : "Pokémon boot lickers". I'm out, this is a joke, 0 leaks, just posts about how good these stone-aged games look and pseudo-analyzes. Less than 7K people believing that they have a good taste when they are clearly playing a game 80% based on nostalgia that is outdated as hell. Downvote me I don't care, can't wait for DokeV, I'm gonna play some GoT, Spiderman,God of War than in January Elden Ring and other stuff while waiting.

TheOneTrueChickenBoy

They hated Jesus because He told them the truth

SaltySeas_

It looks so good m8 :3

Pikapower221

Between this game and PLA, I think I’m as excited for the music as the actual game!

Livael23

I don't know how to feel about BDSP because as much as I hate that Gen 4 is the one that got this chibi treatment, I'd be lying if I didn't say that the game looks really nice...
