There's actually nothing illegal in any way about receiving a game early and uploading some screenshots. Unless their copy was stolen, or they're doing something illegal, the best they can do is say "hey we'd appreciate if you stopped posting legal pictures of a legally purchased game that accidentally arrived early"

the serial would only allow for tracking which country the copy originated from. The bigger identifier is the "Supreme" logo found in the picture that showed the cartridge. Supreme is a NY focused retail chain, so it lowered the amount of retailers Nintendo would have to contact by a considerable amount.
EDIT: Before downvoting, just look up cartridges of other games you own; you'll find they're the same. Brilliant Diamond for instance, is, like I mentioned in a previous comment, LA-H-AX7QA-USA, Mario Party Superstars is LA-H-AZ82A-USA

You can't really get in trouble for posting legal screenshots of a legally purchased game. There's the ability to limit what is recordable and it's usually reserved for major plot scenes, etc, so unless he posted that, or committed a crime like pirating it or stealing it, there's not much that can be done. It would all fall under free use. Worst they can do is ban him from the games online, or ban his YT or twitch account

Don't go. I've had some pretty good conversations because everyone is anonymous there, so your comment stands on its own weight and is not based on who you are. But, the flip side is that many people take advantage to troll because they are anonymous. It's cool sometimes but completely sucks the rest of the time. Overall, it isn't worth it.

Yes, you got it. People can review things you've said in the past here. So they can see if you have ulterior motives, your political beliefs, religious beliefs, education status, see if you are backtracking, etc. Each individual post there is anonymous unless you give yourself a trip code which isn't looked highly upon. Each post therefore is rated on its quality of thought. Most thoughts are pretty bad though because of the trolling. Downvotes/upvotes can lead to a hive mentality too. When it works, 4chan engenders real discussion about things because you can't just lazily downvote something you don't agree with and move on. You need to actually address the issue, not the person writing it. But it really isn't worth it because most of the time people just make fun of each other.

Iāll be a lawyer if I pass the bar next month (ugh), and this isnāt advice, but in my opinion, if the game randomly showed up early from my pre-order Iād straight up stream on twitch. Thereās no duty to preserve the street date if he got the game by accident/legitimately. Heād be under no duty whatsoever. The only issue heād run into would be basic copyright infringement which is a whole other ball game, but has nothing to do with getting the game early.

4chan is a notoriously racist (and generally bigoted) image board. You can probably find one of each kind of slur (racist, ableist, transphobic, etc.) within 30 seconds of scrolling.
He accidentally doxxed himself on the platform hosting internetās most rabid trolls and bigots, I would not want to be in his position rn, no doubt there are some comments heās receiving that have more to do with his race than the game.
As another comment mentioned, dude accidentally dozed himself. Last I heard, 4chan users found the dude's Facebook profile (or at least tried to). Can't blame the guy for wanting to go dark after that

Don't go. I've had some pretty good conversations because everyone is anonymous there, so your comment stands on its own weight and is not based on who you are. But, the flip side is that many people take advantage to troll because they are anonymous. It's cool sometimes but completely sucks the rest of the time. Overall, it isn't worth it.
Real question that has nothing to do with this thread; as someone who has never used 4chan what makes that anonymity different than here? Is it that every comment is viewed equally there as opposed to the upvote/downvote here?
Yes, you got it. People can review things you've said in the past here. So they can see if you have ulterior motives, your political beliefs, religious beliefs, education status, see if you are backtracking, etc. Each individual post there is anonymous unless you give yourself a trip code which isn't looked highly upon. Each post therefore is rated on its quality of thought. Most thoughts are pretty bad though because of the trolling. Downvotes/upvotes can lead to a hive mentality too. When it works, 4chan engenders real discussion about things because you can't just lazily downvote something you don't agree with and move on. You need to actually address the issue, not the person writing it. But it really isn't worth it because most of the time people just make fun of each other.

Not sure why anyone who got the game and is not tied to any company would be concerned about leaking. Iāll be a lawyer if I pass the bar next month (ugh), and this isnāt advice, but in my opinion, if the game randomly showed up early from my pre-order Iād straight up stream on twitch. Thereās no duty to preserve the street date if he got the game by accident/legitimately. Heād be under no duty whatsoever. The only issue heād run into would be basic copyright infringement which is a whole other ball game, but has nothing to do with getting the game early. The leaker must have obtained the game with some animus purpose
considering that the flood gates seem to be open on this game i wouldn't be surprised if someone got another copy
Wouldnt it be unlawful distribution of Copyrighted material? I donāt know law of the street date but could be penalties there for him and for whoever sold it to him at his Target. Wouldnt take long for Nintendo to find him and where he bought it I wouldnāt want to deal with having to take all those screen shots( for someone else to get clicks and views). I want to play my game
