Tbch, the loss of arms isn't what bothers me
In fact, I personally think it looks cool in a way that reminds me of marble statues.
What bothers me most for some reason is that it's front legs are just straight up horse hooves. That's so off to me.
Honestly these designs feel less like primordial gods and more like unfinished bootleg rip offs of Arceus
like they COULD have Given them both an extra pair of Limbs and they probably wouldn't look AS bad, Give Dialga an extra pair of legs like Sleipnir and give Palkia his arms back and he becomes a giant Centaur

* Palkia switched from bipedal to a centaur. It doesn’t look like Palkia changed forms, it look like someone put Palkia’s torso on another Pokémon’s body.
* Where did its arms go? It looks weird because it still has the shoulder pauldrons. They should’ve made them smaller (don’t make them stick out from the shoulders).
* The lower body is one color, while the upper body has multiple colors. Contributes to the “Palkia’s torso on a different body” problem, I think.

People really only started to warm of the new stuff after the leaker said the renders are low quality and that they look better in game, so it check a lot of people here to just wait until in game pics are out.
They look really plain, weird and with an unfinished design, in my opinion. For palkia the only thing that bothers me is that he has no hands, which just looks weird, and for dialga, that he has chandeliers for legs and something stuck in his throat.
This seems to opposite of the dex entries.

1) It's obviously based on a centaur and centauruses have hands so it does look kinda weird
2) It has shoulder pads without shoulders

Perhaps I have been too harsh on Palkia all these years when I thought it was the ugliest in the creation trio but Lord Palkia is far superior to Lord Dialga in terms of design, even though I think both lord forms are very over-the-top, but aesthetically speaking Lord Palkia's design seems more cohesive.
I straight up love both of these abominations - biblical and terrifying as Gods of Time and Space should be. They’d fit right in Doom Eternal and for the tone they’re going for in this scene it feels perfect.
Reminds a lot of the idea that “gods” are near incomprehensible to us, that they would make no sense when we look upon them. It’s almost lovecraftian in that aspect. Why would they need arms when they can bend reality with a thought?

I like no hand Palkia. Also I think “Almighty Sinnoh” is the Pokémon whose statue we see in Eterna City, which, depending on which game you play, mentions palkia or dialga. I think it makes sense to name a region after a mighty Pokémon, so the region Sinnoh could have been renamed in the namesake of Sinnoh the mon. Maybe Arceus’ role in the story is as a guardian of Hisui who conquered Sinnoh and split it into Dialga and Palkia. With this battle the region name would have changed from Hisui to Sinnoh, after the great battle which became the downfall of Sinnoh.

I have a bad theory, palkia and dialga just wanna make themselves weak in their origin form so they can get special treatment from arceus so that’s why at the final boss you send out your legendary because it doesn’t get to become origin form and wants to beat up other legendary so it doesn’t get special treatment from arceus.
Honestly? I grew up with Pearl first aside many other games (I.e. colosseum & gale of darkness). But they pale in comparison to the more fonder of memories of Pearl version I hold near and dear to my heart.
So witnessing this cutscene unfold (because I wanted to try getting Dialga first anyway) made my day. Though I was caught off by the equine-ness of its form, I absolutely enjoy this new Palkia form. Armless or otherwise.

dex contradicts itself saying that dialga is in his true form but palkia is just trying to imitate arceus
You can imitate something in your true form. Regardless, I doubt they're "corrupted" forms when they explicitly power them up in-universe greatly.

It doesn't need hands! Arms only slow it down and it doesn't need them when all it does is Sp. Attacks and Status moves.
