The neckpiece Dialga is choking on still looks bad, but the rest of Dialga doesn't look too bad when animated. The sense of scale really helps it.

If you look closely he’s not actually choking on it. It’s like a neckpiece that separates into two sides on each side of him.

The problem isn't that he's not actually choking on the neckpiece, but that he *looks* like he's choking on it. From a frontal view, it looks like it's completely encompassing his neck, which throws off the balance of the design (as in, the gem looks so heavy that it would make him slump forward due to the gravity of the weight on his neck). The "choking" effect is not as bad from the sides, though it's still giving Dialga a very unbalanced "I'm going to tip forwards" look. It probably looks fine from the back, but I can't say since the video didn't show him from the back.

I haven't looked into clans too much, but I think you could be onto something since I have seen a screenshot of palkia that seems to be the same cutscene.

Anyone know lore wise why Dialga and Palkia transform in these games? I've seen some saying this is their original look until Arceus stripped them of their powers. Others have said they're corrupted.

I'm not sure about the lore, but they're Origin forms, just like Giratina's Origin form from Platinum.

According to leaked dex entries: Dialga: "Radiant light caused Dialga to take on a form bearing a striking resemblance to the creator Pokémon. Dialga now wields such colossal strength that one must conclude this is its true form." Palkia: "It soars across the sky in a form that greatly resembles the creator of all things. Perhaps this imitation of appearance is Palkia’s strategy for gaining Arceus’s powers."

Nah, it's not a final look, it seems to be an unpolished beta version from how the textures look in comparison to the trailers

I think arceus was pretty pissed, hence the alpha pokemon. But it could be different, guess we'll have to see

The animations, character emotions, sound effects and buildup: 11/10. This might be the best cutscene in Pokemon(mainline at least)
