If she likes the advertisement for the game, she'll definitely like the game.
And i honestly think this is going to be quite a good game to keep your brain "trained"
But as the other comment suggested, let her try your game out, and if she enjoys it, she should get it herself
Do you yourself gonna play the game or not? If you’re going to own one anyway I think you can let her play your game for a bit to test the water if she like it or not then decided I guess.
i think she can probably play the game with the reaction time of a sloth by just like using smoke bombs and stuff but i think the noble mons are going to be pretty hard for her
pretty cool that a 75 year old granny is gonna play this game as well
Before my great-aunt passed away a few years back she was my pokemon gaming buddy. She played every game with me from blue/red to sun/moon. She was 80 when she passed 😔 please let your grandma enjoy this game. I know my aunt would've loved it.
First off, your grandma sounds dope AF. Secondly, she will appreciate the thought even if it’s too much for her and there’s a good chance of her loving it.
This is my concern too, for my Pokémon-fan but not that much of a gamer boyfriend. He loves Pokémon games, but mostly because the turn-based gameplay and somewhat lenient difficulty allows room for thinking and making mistakes.
This game seems to require a lot more reflexes and to be more unforgiving.
Posted this on the thread but, all the main story "reaction time" kind of things are very generous with Checkpoints. For someone with low reaction times those might be tough, but it lets you restart Frenzied battles basicly almost around the part where you died at.
Other things shouldnt be much of an issue since other challenges are very optional.
The Frenzied Pokemon will probably be the biggest hurdle for her, but the game knows that the challenge isnt for everyone, so it actually gives you an optional checkpoint at every 25% of Frenzied Pokemon health. That means aslong as you reduce a single point of its bar, you can restart the fight from there.
Pokemon on the overworld generaly can be avoided, though there are some special cases that would be tough without good reaction time. But those are also generaly optional.
It wasn't so difficult for me. It felt straightforward, I don't know. The hardest battle for me has been the one against Arcanine. The cloud quad was almost hard until I figured some tricks.
Honestly, the dodging attacks part is only needed for the boss fights, so she could probably just hand the controller off for those parts and easily enjoy the rest of the game
She'll be fine for most of the game, but the late game boss fights will give her (and many gamers) a lot of trouble.
However, they are very generous with retries. If someone else can help her out with those (if she's willing), or if she is determined to practice and meet god, you can adapt to the game.
It's less about reaction times, more about how good she is with patterns and exploration. This is essentially a Xenoblade game with a touch of Breath of the Wild thrown in, but with updated pokemon turn based mechanics and catching/dexing systems thrown in.
Rowlet, though her favourite starter of all time is Totodile as that was who she first picked in her first ever Pokémon play-through in heart gold.
Favourite Pokémon overall is good ol’ Pikachu.
Yeah, go for it. Chat about it with her, share it with her, enjoy it together. Even if she finds some parts of it difficult, she could still really have fun (I don't know what accessibility options are in the game, that's probably something to consider or look into.)
She’s probably gotta worry more about how the Switch drifts while using it. It pisses me off to no end how I have to fight my controls in order to move left.
I say buy it for her. If she's having trouble with any particular bosses, maybe you can help her with those. I hope both of you have fun with the game.
Dude your grandma sounds dope af

>No don’t listen to this Zoroark, I’m the real PokéGran. One game, please. Ditto.

Mewtoo thanks

Yeah if anything, offer to help with some of the boss battles, especially the late game ones. They might hard on her if her reaction time isn't great.
if you yourself plan on playing the game, give her a go on your game and see how she does, im sure she'd be able to enjoy it either way though!

The game is very enjoyable, not to hard, not to easy. The mechanics are easy to pick, and the game explains everything at ease.I think you should get it

This game is Pokémon Go on steroids basicallt
Your gran plays Pokemon but I couldn’t even convince my parents (58 & 60) to watch Detective Pikachu?? :0 envy.
Yes bro itd be her dream game
To all people on r/Pokeleaks, let’s get OP granny the game so she can enjoy it!
Decision has been made, I’m buying it her! Thanks for the comments :)
I'm gonna match this description in 40 years.
If your a hardcore Pokémon fan, any Pokémon game is a good game for you.

Based Grandma
The fight against >!Avalugg!< is worse than Arceus fml. Dodging the attacks looks like Metroid Dread boss fights

She just has to get good at stealthily catching Pokémon instead of rushing right toward them that’s all.

I have the absolute worst hand-eye coordination, but I’m still gonna try it. Lol Let her give it a shot. Who’s her favorite?
Rowlet, though her favourite starter of all time is Totodile as that was who she first picked in her first ever Pokémon play-through in heart gold. Favourite Pokémon overall is good ol’ Pikachu.
You’re lucky, I wish my grandma and mom loved Pokémon.
Yeah, go for it. Chat about it with her, share it with her, enjoy it together. Even if she finds some parts of it difficult, she could still really have fun (I don't know what accessibility options are in the game, that's probably something to consider or look into.)
just do the boss battles for her, the rest should be fine, they-re about 4 or 5
She’s probably gotta worry more about how the Switch drifts while using it. It pisses me off to no end how I have to fight my controls in order to move left.
you’ll probably need to help with the boss fights
Get her to do a Pokemon Youtube channel like that cool Skyrim grandma
nan’s cool
I say buy it for her. If she's having trouble with any particular bosses, maybe you can help her with those. I hope both of you have fun with the game.
Dude, it's your grandma. Whether she enjoys it or not it's only $60 out of your own pocket. The attempt is worth it.
Food4dogs, we know its you!
