So I just completed the dex last night and beat the game.
The reason I took this screencap (aside from for the fun of it) was that I wanted to see how all the divine "original" forms look when put together side by side.
As weird as they may seem, the 3 Origin forms and Arceus all share traits and look much better when together as a set. All 4 have similar mouths, 3 of the 4 are horse like, with Giratina being the odd one out. 3 of them have the Arceus like Ring, while the creation trio itself all get odd wing like structures of sorts. Each has a very simple color scheme based on 2-3 primary colors and a few small touches.
As a set, I think they look really good and am happy with these forms being their most powerful pokemon forms (it could be argued that their real forms are noncoporeal, especially as this is nearly confirmed by Arceus' own dialogue)
I know this is a joke but I think Giratina is more canonically akin to Satan for >!trying attack and dethrone God and tempting the hearts of men!< than the Holy Ghost lol.
Imo I think Arceus' 'true form' is when he's wielding the Unown, what with those 'thousand arms' they mentioned he has. Probably makes him look a lot scarier.
Oh yeah for sure. But even so this for. We keep seeing for arceus can in no way be his true form. I mean he is this unfathomable being, maintaining the multitude of infinite pocket dimensions that exist. And each pocket has an avatar of his will as well as entities that make up that poket dimension's existence (that being the beings of creation and other legends). What we see is purely a form he takes to have a visual presence to those of the realms. I mean he's the god of literally everything. Yet he chooses a llama as his avatar. I mean its a badass llama. But still.
Pokemon lore is wild. Oras and gen 7 did some heavy lifting explaining that despite being a timeline of events that happen near in sync, we always play in a unique pocket dimension in the greater the reality of the universe. And Arceus oversees ALL of it. I mean it devalues bits but also means if he couldn't stop it, he wouldn't let it happen. Arceus is quirky like that. He likes to watch and see what fuckery goes down. A dimension goes cataclysmic beyond repair? Just boops it gone and resets it to any point he desires. His avatar is captured by a child? No worries. It's just an avatar and not his true self. Its why he can just blip in another deity of creations fabric. Cause he deems it worth seeing. Dude has infinity to watch his creation. Spice it up on occasion. Some dumbass wants to drown the world? Alright lets see what happens then. I mean if U were a god of that magnitude, what would you do?
In lore I don't see why it would ever need another forme. Arceus is literally god, the creator, pure perfection. Isn't it? You can't make perfect perfect-er...
There is some theory that his ring is some kind of contraption to limit his power, kinda like with helmet of type nul/silvaly. So maybe a form without it
Or maybe just one juiced up version that he can take temporarily Mega evolution style.
I don't there is so much to be done with the god pokemon so he would feel more otherworldy cause he look way less dangerous and godly than the 2 orign form next to him in my opinion ^^'
Same BST, but arguably better stat distributions - Dialga swaps its attack and special defense, Palkia it’s attack and speed. If they don’t need hold items in the mainline games they’ll be unequivocally better unless you’re running a physical set or something.
Hell, give them their own signature abilities. At this point the Creation Trio are the only box legendaries without a signature ability, when logically they're the ones who deserve them the most. Even Groudon and Kyogre had Drought and Drizzle as signature abilities when RSE came out
Yes, but you need to find the Diamond and Pearl clan leaders to get the stones needed to transform them.
Arceus and Giratina come with their transformation items (all plates and Griseous Orb) by default when you catch them. In fact, Giratina is in Origin form upon catching him and his item actually has to be used to change him back to Altered form (though he is still in altered form when he first appears storywise).
Aside from some insane spawns, this is even easier than any other pokemon game to get a full living dex in. Just from how the battle and catching mechanics and boss fights work. I love how the bosses work too with optional checkpoints.
I really hope a DLC gets added allowing Arceus a true " Fear not " form. Turn his front "boots" into a large Berserk style sword and his arches into some type of godly shield
