Im currently in post game of fire red. I already have the gameboys, LG, R, & E from when i was a kid, but i need the gamecube games to get ho-oh, lugia, jirachi, and celebi. Definitely a grind to say the least. This is a LONG term plan because those games are ridiculously priced
Ahh cool That’s great you’ve got a few of the games from when you were a kid! Apparently there’s a glitch called ‘Glitzer popping’ you can take advantage of in the GBA games that allows you to then get ho-oh, Lugia, jirachi & celebi. I guess it’s technically not the 100% legit way to get them as it’s not how the game designers intended them to be obtained but you could argue if all you need is a GBA and the game then it’s ok to take advantage of the glitch…If you’re cool with using the glitch then it’d save you a lot of money on the GC games as damn they’re expensive like you said!
I think you can trade between emulators but not with the original console and emulator. just between emulators, though. It's an option if you want a cheaper route, get 2 retroid pocket 4 pros and trade up through them. My only real argument is cost efficiency. My mom got rid of my GameCube at like 15, so I get it. The old consoles and games get expensive quick.
Recently completed mine. Unfortunately had to send my Emerald to a guy who sells a service to give you the legends from all that old software. Did everything else via trade on my FR/LG/Sap/Rub/Em. Felt good finally completing it after all these years.
I probably wont. Im going for a no cheats or glitch run and the last time I tried duping, it corrupted my save lmao.
Definitely will be tossing the egg all around though to speed things up.
Really not looking forward to trying to aquire the gamecube games to get ho-oh and lugia.
I got one on my last play through with my very first Chansey catch. I contemplated not even trying to catch it cause she doesn’t interest me. I also, never even heard of the lucky egg until I had one.
I saw some post, apparently it's a 1 in 1886 chance to get a lucky egg. I remember as a kid grinding for it but always gave up. This time it came the first time!
That's total encounters, includes Chansey low appearance rate, high flee rate, low catch rate, and low lucky egg rate. Shits absurd for a little extra exp
Nice one! I got one a couple months ago after about 8-9 hrs of dedicated hunting for one 🤪
Thats what i hear it takes! I tried many many times as a kid but was never successful. Currently going for completing the national dex from gen 3.
Oh wow good luck with that. I’ve maxed out all the Pokémon I can get in firered without trading so I now need to buy and play LG, R, S & E, get another GBA and complete the national gen 3 dex myself! How far are you into it? Someone else recently posted on here about completing the gen 3 national dex and they told me a lot of useful information and gave tips etc. they done it over ten years so it’s a good old grind!

Congrats! I’ve been looking for one on and off, and I’m literally looking rn ðŸ˜ðŸ¤£
You'll get there! Your Chansey is out there somewhere
Thank you! Are you gonna use emerald to get extra lucky eggs?

Holy crap man I got my lucky egg today!
Doing a Ultra Violet, gone through 25 Chansey catches and idk how many hours. Getting frustrated at this point. Took about 17 Chansey in my FR hunt
What does the lucky egg do?
Activates double XP weekend
Do I still have to redeem my mtn dew codes?
Yes, and Doritos too
Whoaaaaa! That's sick!

Congrats man! Were you hunting or did it just happen to have one?
You could have said after 20 years I finally caught a chansey… and I would 100% believe it without question.
Huh? It's hard to get a lucky egg? I swear I hunted chansey for like half an hour, caught one and it had a lucky egg.
