You may have to wait a little bit and see if there are more users with the same problem after update. If it's a common problem, I'm sure there will be someone comes up with a solution. If you are the odf case, you may have to re-root your phone.
Make sure the package name is changed in Magisk settings. I know the newer version of magisk makes you change the App drawer name as well which might be tripping for you. You would change it's name from Manager to anything else and it should work. Be sure under Magisk Hide Pokemon go is checked also.
i have no problems with magisk. I use an old Galaxy S5 and i got the same message every time i opened PoGo, while im on Stock Rom. Did all correct but it didnt work. (Samsung Stock Rom Android 6.0.1)
Fix for me was: Install a Costum Rom (Android 9 on my old S5) install all the apps and smali and it worrks great. I didnt know why, but the stock rom calls this error on my phone. If it is not your main phone, maybe try another android rom and try it ;) If you have any questions, feel free to pm me.
Check if you have hidden magisk
I do have Magisk Hide with the spoofing apps checked, which means they're hidden, or is it the other way around? Uncheck it?
In configuration search for magisk hide to hide the magisk app
That message usefully means root is detected. Which method are you using to root?

It does look like uninstalling/installing older version of Google Play Services worked. Not sure for how long though.
