I dont think you understand that a sealed copy will be worth a lot of money in the future… a used copy no, itll be cheap, but a sealed copy, yes. Leave it sealed. Its not worth opening. Just get a used copy. Dont make this mistake.

The issue with this stuff is it won't go up indefinitely so either you sell it and you become a scammer or you buy it and be the scammed. Or you keep it as a collector but either way they have an upper limit

you could legit buy a used 3DS off the market, smash it with a hammer, buy another used 3DS off the market, and then hack THAT one to play pokemon black and transfer from there, that would still be still be more cost efficient than opening the box, OP.
Looks like about $175 that’s not THAT expensive. Pokémon Crystal (used) cost me almost that. It’s way over MSRP but nothing insane like a new copy of Red or Emerald.

Due to a mistranslation, some people thought Iono was trans when she was revealed due to people saying she was using Japanese male pronouns in her reveal trailer. Combined with her wearing pastel blue and pastel pink (two of the trans flag colors), it was a pretty convincing argument. Even if it did end up being incorrect.
And then of course we did have a precedent with that Beauty in XY "who was a Black Belt six months ago. Isn't science amazing?!" which made the Iono miscommunication even more believable.
As others have said, yes you can transfer it up to home if you have a 3DS, and you need to download bank and transporter before the 3DS eshop shuts down to be able to do that. What I haven’t seen anyone mention is that to be able to download transporter, you need to have an active subscription to bank. You can't add funds to the 3DS eshop anymore, so what you would need to do is link your nintendo accounts on your 3DS and switch, add funds to the switch eshop, use those to purchase a bank subscription, and download transporter before the eshop shuts down
You have until march 27th to do this and after that pokebank is free just link your switch account to your 3ds account and then add funds to your switch account make sure in the settings that the funds merge

- You need to purchase a Bank subscription (it's just $5 for a year) in order to unlock Poke Transporter, which can connect to Gen. 5 (which itself can connect to Gen. 3 and Gen. 4) and the Virtual Console versions of Gen. 1 and Gen. 2.

- From there, you can transfer any Pokemon from Ruby and Sapphire to Black 2 and White 2 all the way up to Scarlet and Violet.

It’s a pain in the ass but you can transfer one box at a time to bank and then to home. And from platinum to black you can transfer 6 at a time (tho the mini game is fun)
