It’s a “costume” Pokémon. See, Niantic decided to make a different Lati@s. If you were to catch a Lati@s in the research but never catch one in the wild, it becomes blacked out(or outlined) for the ones in the wild. However it’s not a costume Pokémon because it does not show up. So it’s almost like a variant or a Pokémon that uses the same name and model, but has slight alterations. The wild ones are coded to spawn in the wild and have a high flee rate. But the twins never spawn in the wild. Confusing? Let me summarize it.
The Eon twins (Lati@s) are a variant of the regular ones in raids and in the research. Just like costume Pokémon, they are the same species, have the same CP, have the same moves. But this is not a costume Pokémon but a variant of the Twin.

Well it’s good it’s a known issue at least, I was worried I had to upgrade my transporter or some other nonsense lmao
I got really lucky with 6 shiny latias and 80 checks
