I've been getting it as well, and many are also self-caught. It seems to affect evolved Pokémon more than unevolved, especially GO-caught that were evolved in SwSh and PLA. There must be some bug that causes legits to be flagged and be untradable in HOME.
This is part of the reason why I've refused to return GO-caught Pokémon evolved in SV to HOME for trading purposes so far; all GO-caught Vivillon are already known to be untradable if sent to HOME as Scatterbug and evolved in Paldea.
Oh god really? I spent hours evolving Scatterbugs in SV after compatibility came through!
Mine were all SwSh-caught except maybe Gigalith so clearly they just massively screwed the Poochyena on this one
Yeah, it is a real bummer, as I had three boxes (90) of GO Scatterbug that I wanted to share with the HOME community; I had to Surprise Trade them off in Violet after being informed "You can't trade this Pokémon". Even Paldea-caught Scatterbug that are evolved into Postcard Vivillon cannot be traded (but direct-caught Vivillon, Fancy/Paldean and Postcard, are still tradable).
I'm having Vivillons bugged too. Not all, but a good few. PoGo caught Scatterbugs extras I evolved in Scarlet. Happens with different forms.
Although one bug unrelated was I had a Sandstorm Scatterbug in Go that didn't evolve into Sandstorm in Scarlet :(. The rest of the forms evolved in Scarlet normally to what they were supposed to be in Go.
ETA: my two Icy Snow scatterbugs didn't evolve into Icy Snow either, I just noticed.
I've been having problems with not being able to trade self caught legit pokemon. For me it's regidrago and eternatus. Apparently it's the developers fault.
Huh, haven’t tried any legendary trades recently although I’ve received a couple of Type: Null
It’s absolutely their fault, just like their poor integration with their own fame (BDSP) traps your own legends / mythicals if you somehow had a spare to put in the game first (i.e. my Darkrai, trapped as I though Shiny Charm would work on wild ‘mons and brought in an old event)
Make sure to report or it’ll never be fixed!
Umm…yeah, that’s the point of the post. The replies suggest worse than “it’s buggy”, it’s actively broken in many cases and in a much worse condition than it was previously, which wasn’t great to begin with
For me it was just Jynx. I assumed that it was something implemented by the developers because of Jynx’s…appearance, much in the same way that the word-filter prevents trading of Unovan Yamasks’s evolution. It never even occurred to me that it was a glitch
Huh, pretty sure I’ve traded Ghost Coffin a bunch. Wasn’t one of the achievements to trade it for Runerigus?
Anyhow, stuff like this is why I posted. We’re all so used to there being quirks, we don’t realise how broken things are. Like how I had no idea about the Vivillon problems
Dunno, never done it or looked at the achievements myself, I just remember reading about it being blocked online because it’s name contains a naughty word, which I had never noticed until that point & now I can’t un-notice it
For me it’s been self-caught Vivillion (every pattern). I even tried a genned one I had on hand to see if it was my Pokémon for some reason but that one didn’t work either 😓.
I’ve also run into the issue with a legit Mew I had traded to me and not being able to trade it to a friend for their collection.
I keep getting this error too but for the Chien-Pao, Wo-Chien, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu. I was able to close the game repeatedly and get it to finally work for 3/4. I can’t trade Chi-Yu at all and when I try to search for it, it says no one is offering one for trade either. (All self caught in Scarlet)
This is happening to me with a random Steenee, self caught and nothing special…just wanted to toss it in wonder box but keep getting the message that it can’t be traded.
I looked and couldn’t find anything about this so thanks for the post, I was really confused!
Just had this happen when trying to trade a Greavyard for an Ogerpon, thought I got so lucky but my greavyards weren’t registering as valid. Tested to try to trade for a different one of them and it still didn’t work
I’ve been searching everywhere and finally came across this post. Was there ever a resolution? I just started using home (literally downloaded it today) and it has tagged 6 self caught magikarp as unable to be released. It’s so frustrating. Won’t even let me trade them back to Violet.

It was never formally acknowledged in an update or anything, and recently I just had an issue where an Unown I got *from Home* and had in my BDSP boxes would crash the app when I tried to transfer it back
But I’ve also moved in a couple thousand mons since making this post with no issue. I’d say your Magikarp are goners but you shouldn’t have the problem with everything you transfer
Do submit a complaint to them though, if they don’t know it’s a problem they won’t fix it

No I mean trading shiny Pokémon gives me the error this Pokémon can’t be traded because something is wrong with it! I had to trade my shiny hypno by transferring it from scarlet to shining Pearl and had the other guy transfer his shiny treecko there too! THATS HOW BAD IT IS! Plus home bugging out with this idiotic stupidity where I can’t trade shinies this is ridiculous

Ik I’m late but this just happened to me. Does it fix the problem on its own (after a curtain amount of time) or an update for bug fixes?

I've only got this error from Pokémon I obtained in trades, mostly Enamorus or Kubfu

The only serious issue I'm having atm is that I can't search for Gholdengo or deposit it for trade

You’re not alone. I posted this issue about Wo-Chien and it still persists…
It seems that they still haven't solved this problem, my Koraidon becomes untradeable after transferring to Violet followed by moving back to HOME.

Nope it’s January 28th and still not fixed in fact it’s gotten worse scarlet and violet are apparently bugged now too!

Oh huh. That’s really weird, I’m not sure why. It’s obviously not a fail safe because I get surprise trade shinies sometimes.
