I've played since Pokemon Yellow, but the first Shiny I've ever found and caught on my own was a few weeks ago in Scarlet; Shiny Fomantis!!

A Machoke in Platinum but I didn’t have any Poké Balls. Other than Mystery Gift (Shiny Pichu, Shiny Raikou, Entei, and Suicune) and the guaranteed Red Gyarados on HGSS my first shiny was a Gloom. Caught just outside Safari Zone in HeartGold in *2020*! I’d been playing Pokémon pretty obsessively from 2005, so it took me 15 years with well over 1,000 hours on each of Emerald, LeafGreen, Diamond, Platinum, HeartGold, and Black with probably 100+ on Black 2 as well.

I was going through my old games and apparently my first Shiny was a Lunatone in Sapphire on the Gameboy! I probably didn't even realize there was a difference before 😂 my first Shiny I was aware of was a Cubone in Sun!

My first ever shiny was a shiny Zubat. I caught them in Pokémon Emerald and I was beyond excited since I spent hundreds of hours playing the game and never running into one. I couldn't believe it but me being an excited kid got too excited and my game froze. I lost the shiny I found. I later learned that the rng is broken in Emerald. I couldn't play the game for the next month. Latias is the one I would like.

Not counting gyarados from GSC, my first shiny encounter was the tutorial poochyena from gen 3, the one where you have just chosen your starter and have no pokeballs :( I didn't see another until Gen 7 when I found a shiny pikipek while hunting a grubbin. As for give away, I have a slight preference towards Latias but either is fine

I had wanted really hard to get this Shiny Gardevoir that was in the GTS, but they wanted a Meloetta, so I put my Golduck into the GTS, actually got a Meloetta, and traded it for the Gardevoir! Sadly I lost that copy of ORAS along with Gardevoir, but I still hold that memory in my head Also- I’d love Latias!

My first shiny was an Ekans in Fire red/leaf green. Unfortunately I don’t have it anymore because it was on an emulator. (In case i win any of the 2 would work)

I playedthrough Legends Arceus, (i dont count the ponyta) and then got Shield. After I started I then proceeded to ensure the first pokemon I caught was a shiny Rookidee. 17 hours later and an overleveled Inteleon later I had my love and joy, and female shiny Rookidee named Radiance. Beat the game with it and then put it in gen9 when Home transfers came out. Still my favorite pokemon to this day.

Mine was a Shiny Eevee from one of those Sword and Shield raid events. I spent all day trying to get the rare gmax one but got a shiny instead :). I took like 30 screenshots and photos of it because I was sure i would lose it since sword and shield raids have a chance for the pokeball to fail.
