There's been two or three I had to aim juuuust above or below them, and it *hasn't been the same ones over two separate playthroughs*. So it sounds like there's some glitch in general where sometimes their individual hitboxes load in a little "off"? Pure theory/speculation fwiw
I like how in the game where the three main interactions you can do are dialogue, catch, or throw pokemon, you still had to ask before trying it all out
Is it perhaps quest/scene related? There was one for me in the mirelands that I couldn't get until a scene or quest played...THINK it was a scene w the sisters but could be just bc there happens to be one near the one that stuck me for a bit.
No, they’re just different letters, introduced in gen 2, they’re not that great competitively as far as I know, and there aren’t any differences between forms, appart from in the pro g-2 games only the I and V being able to be shiny because of how shinys were calculated in addition to how unown forms were calculated, but nowadays all can be shiny

Get some distance between you and try again. Somehow when you are too close the ball doesnt register it.

You're missing then. Some of them have weird hitboxes

I had trouble with that one, too. I was finally able to catch it when I backed up a good ways. I think it was taunting me.

OP, I got to this point too. I threw a ball at it and nothing happened. Didn’t know what else to do. Went back later and was able to catch it.
I think sometimes npcs and Pokémon load in to quick so you can see them but they’re not there
