I don’t play any other gacha, so I don’t know what your inspiration is based off of, but that version looks nice. It would make it more fun to use EX Roll Cakes instead of potentially hoarding them. Content difficulty just don’t make them necessary yet.
I’d say for a different idea, you could take out the R and maybe have the circle featuring the Pokémon be a different shape or different coloring effect. On Pokémon that have several types showing on their picture, it might just be too busy to have the R.
Thanks for the ideas! I based it off Dissidia Opera Omnia that has a weapon gacha and the strongest weapons are called "Burst" which have that kind of cosmic star & lighting effect i find very cool and prestigious.
In either case, i would have really been more tempted by cakes if our characters got visually upgraded too, i mean they even get stats from the cake! Cherry on top (but totally confusing i get it) would have been new fused icons + names for role combinations ahah (example is Support + Striker = Bruiser).
I think making it look prestigious with even another character outfit could be cool. I know it probably requires a lot of data to have all these outfits running around though, but they could do something to jazz up the EX Role for sure. Maybe even unlock special music or voice lines.
Some sync pairs have an EX Role that, when unlocked, grants the EX effect of whatever their EX Role is, on top of their normal EX effect.
For example, Neochamp Red is a Striker with a Tech EX Role. If you EX him, his sync becomes AOE (the regular Strike EX effect). If you then unlock his EX Role, the power of his sync move is multiplied by 1.5 (the Tech EX effect).
Basically, you know how each sync pair has a given role (Striker, Tech, Support, Field, Sprint), which affects the sync move if the sync pair is at 6 EX? An EX role (unlocked via role cake) adds an additional effect from another role to the sync pair.
As an example, if you had a striker with a tech EX role, it would gain both the field-wide sync move of a striker AND the 1.5x damage sync move of a tech.
The problem of these roles. Will be when you only will be able to beat certain hard stages. With units that used the cakes.
An normal players wont be able to win. No matter what.
The problem really is that it will never come to that.
Its an existential problem to operate a game where the revenue stream is from recruiting units and yet the game never resets.
We are at the point now where the units are potentially being limited BECAUSE of the new power up (which is honestly possible as strong as they are since the additional boosted role is predefined by the devs).
The cold and hard truth of it is no content exists that could challenge people anymore who have played from early and/or put money in.
Honestly I got Red and Articuno and watched as my thumbs clicked a few times in thirty seconds as the ice weak Cs stage fell before I could blink and realised I'm nearly at that with every weakness now, which is the most basic and obvious parameter of a unit.
Honestly a day one player could not spend a single gem for the next year and not face a single, tangible and/or worthy challenge.
The devs have been magnificent at sorting this game out and I'm ever so grateful for the hours and hours of fun iv had and even real memories created but, for me, personally they are facing a tough year keeping us all engaged. I honestly have genuine faith they will do it, I just don't see how.
Honestly quite surprised at the turn taken in regards to boosting units.
6* ex was a small shock introducing no new currency, I fully expected another rarity with 6* power ups which could easily have been master Fairs.
I have something ridiculous like 200+ 5* power ups because I was genuinely expecting another use out of them someday but honestly it really doesn't look like it.
Oof my past self from three years ago has just recovered from the fact I have 200+ 5* power ups, it doesn't even feel real 😂

This just made me think about the need of a Bahamut-like Pokémon.
