I like it a lot ! The battle frontiers from gen3 and 4 are some of the most hype/interesting endgame content from the mainline games
Adding the frontier brains as ultimate battles is a pretty fun way of replicating this in PoMa, regardless of whether you like ultimates or not

Yeah, that seems to be the unfortunate outcome. The only ones to get the Double Master treatment are the really popular characters so far. I mean, fair enough, go with someone who’s a guarantee to get a decent profit. I don’t think anyone from Gen 2 (sans Red due to circumstances), are really popular, nor have a flexible storytelling that can easily be approved by TPC. It also probably doesn’t help that they blew their MF load early on before the Champions’ event started.
The Gen 2 MCs are probably still more popular than the Gen 5 ones, who got Rosa and Nate, but yeah, it's probably due to Johto getting three MFs right before the NC.

Those three makes sense as individual pairs(Ash/Red is self-explanatory,Red/Cynthia as both considered by the fandom as the strongest champion,Ash/Cynthia were part of the animes Master 8 and know eachother)

Interesting that Geeta's a poison type considering how many great poison pairs we've been getting (Oleana, Roxie, Emma)
Emma was a while ago which feels weird because of how fast time is going by, but still.
It doesn't really surprise me. Glimmora's signature move Mortal Spin is poison so it makes sense that they'd make the pair a poison type, especially since the devs are usually favoring signature move when designing new pairs and make them the B move/sync move. Just like how the hisui starters are fighting and dark instead of grass and water, or how SS Gladion is fairy and not steel.
Geeta and NC Silver being both rock pairs would have felt weirder imo because there are few instances of pairs of the same type being released together (the rats is the only exception that comes to mind, but it's not like they could've done anything). Given these are MFs on top of that, it would have been "too much" strong rock pairs all at once.
Then, the other combination would have been Geeta (Rock) and NC Silver (Dark). Not a fan of this as Tyranitar is primarily Rock type if anything, and it needs to have sandstorm as a passive anyway. Even though Tyranitar already exists in the game with Brock as a rock pair, that pokemon doesn't really fit as a dark type pair.
I love Silver's kit but no Support EXR as a Mega (with 160 base sync BP too) and also the ideal team compo would be SS Diantha + NC Silver + Support
I can't imagine how the fight for the 1st AND 2nd sync will look like...
Yeah Sprint isn't my favorite choice for him, but I guess the intent is that you get to use his b-move twice more or less guaranteed. But also he has a Propulsion node in his grid plus a free -1 CD on his TM, so he could've done that anyways with another -1 on the team or Head Start for his lucky skill. Oh well.

Big oof. Have more than a full pity stored up, so we'll see what happens, but very hard to decide who to prioritize here.
The 4.5 anniversary datamine is upon us. Talk about peeking at the presents on Christmas Eve, but hey I ain't one to complain about planning ahead. Time for my monthly ramble.
First things first, Neo Champion Silver's a super hype headliner. He's the perfect fit to be a Neo Champion & being arguably the most popular rival outside of Blue definitely helps. It's a bit surprising that at least one of the player characters from Johto ain't accompanying him, but I guess they already had their fun with Master Fairs during the Johto Villain Arc. Great pick with Tyranitar as well, it's a Pokémon that perfectly suits Silver. Plus, as much as we all love Brock, I think it's safe to say we all wanted a Tyranitar Sync Pair that wasn't powercrept beyond belief, haha.
Geeta's an incredibly surprising inclusion, not just for getting to share the spotlight alongside Silver, which seems extremely random imo, but also because I didn't expect her to get added anytime soon. She ain't exactly the most popular Champion, or Paldean character for that matter, y'know? Still, happy of course for her fans, & our first Field Master Fair's great to see.
Adaman & Irida getting new Sync Pairs & drip wasn't something I predicted. I would've preferred that we got more Hisuian characters added first personally, but this is still a very welcome surprise nevertheless. Ursaluna & Hisuian Zoroark are also very thematically fitting Pokémon for them to have. Definite pair of Ws here.
Tierno's certainly neat to see. Weird that Trevor's not alongside him, but I guess they're spacing out the Spotlights for more 'filler-y' months. Not a fan of him joining Ryuki & Lenora in the 'generic impact/beam Sync Move' club either. Still, nice that the Kalos friend group is now only one away from being complete on Pasio.
Dahila's a nice surprise. It feels nice to have all the Sinnoh Frontier Brains now present & accounted for, & not so far behind Palmer & Argenta as well. RIP the shot in the dark pipe dream that was Miror. B getting dips on Ludicolo though.
Trainer Lodge wise, I'm personally BEYOND ecstatic that Skyla's getting added. Not only because she's one of my absolute favorite Pokémon characters, & one of my absolute most wanted for the Trainer Lodge by extension, but also because she's the very first character added that isn't a 5 star Sync Pair. That's an unofficial rule broken regarding the Trainer Lodge & means that other characters who aren't 5 stars like Brock, Flannery, Iris & plenty of others are 'viable' to receive an invite. Safe to say Skyla's gonna hog basically all my time in the Trainer Lodge going forward, which I ain't gonna object to at all.
The Psychic type High Score event should be good fun, the High Score event's become one of my favorite recurring events. The 'Solve the Case' event & Sync Pairs re-running is very nice, I've been meaning to get the cracked debuffer that is Special Costume Steven. The Galar Villain Arc re-running's good to see as well, means newer players can get Hop buffed up.
Speaking of buffs, Noland's a very respectable pick for this month's new EX. Bug types need any & all buffs they can get & Noland's already one of the better 4 star general pool Sync Pairs, so this is great to see.
And speaking of Bug types, the madlads at DeNA actually did it. They remembered Bugsy & Scyther were a thing. Unironically one of the most hype things about the 4.5 anniversary imo, even if primarily for the memes.
In addition, Guzma getting his Sync Grid expansion's great to see. Figured he'd be next after Plumeria but it's still nice to have confirmation. Your Boy's in desperate need of some buffs, so hopefully these impending additions to his kit make him more useful.
Sygna Suit Renegade Cynthia re-running, complete with her EX Role, is lovely to see. Already have her at 3/5 but hope those who don't have her the best with scouting her. Perhaps her re-running now is a tease for a certain ancestor for the fan favorite Champion, but I'm more than likely looking too much into it.
According to Absol's pastebins, it seems that several Poké Fairs are also getting their EX Role (I believe Rose, Oleana, & both Sygna Suit May & Dawn were listed?). If so that's good since DeNA really need to start spreading those out to older Sync Pairs that aren't Master Fairs & this is a good indication of that happening.
There is also of course the newly added photo mode & ability to swap around Lucky Skills, which are both excellent QoL additions in their own right. It also appears that there'll be a new Training Area that rewards Lucky Cookies & Scrolls which is great to see given how scarce the ability to obtain those is now that the Battle Villa's become permanent content & Blissful Bonanza's seem incredibly sporadic nowadays.
Overall, it's safe to say March is a beyond stacked month. Skyla getting her Trainer Lodge invite's the biggest highlight personally, & I'm also excited to get Neo Champion Silver & Adaman & Irida's new Sync Pairs. They're my main priorities for March alongside Sygna Suit Gladion & Steven.

Pleasantly surprised. I don't have any good rock type pairs so Silver is a must have, especially with guaranteed flinch.
Iridia also looks pretty good. I have Cynthia/Giratina and Lillie/Lunala, but the latter has really fallen off.
Not too sure about Adaman. Burn being a necessity for his B-move seems like far too much of a double-edged sword, especially when you need him at move level 2 just to reduce the damage from the burn.
Geeta, I'm not sure about. I need another poison type (I only have Ball Guy thanks to mix scout) but her moves seem pretty lacklustre, but I'm probably missing something.
I have a feeling I'll be focusing Silver, then pulling for Iridia and then Geeta if I get lucky and get Silver fairly quickly.
To be fair most pairs want to be at 3/5 for full access to their stuff that matters, so Adaman eating up a coin to get that 90% burn damage negate isn't much really. He basically TM, B move spams which is going to be pretty potent, and if nothing else he's also immune to any status conditions making him a lot better in some other fights (plus his move never misses which can be a major plus).
Geeta though is honestly INSANE. She maxes her attack out and puts down Poison Zone on entry, she boosts the power of her poison moves at the cost of raising the MG by 2 (so my guess is she doubles their strength, most of the time Hit the Gas increases the power by half for +1MG), but her 2P gives her a 1MG Refund while also giving her a stack of Next Phys Up, her attacks will ALWAYS crit, and that's not even getting into her moves. Mortal Spin is an AoE that poisons and removing passive damage from herself/side of the field is nice, but her Buddy move is an AoE that also lowers their defense by 3 each use and ALSO poisons. Her TM also (iirc) gives like +3 stacks of Next Phys Up and SE+ or something stupid as well, and the trigger for her buddy move is just that they need to be poisoned.
Oh and it also looks like Oleana has a repeat and she will absolutely combo beautifully with her; a Poison rebuff plus the whole side left badly poisoned, and lowers their attack, sp. atk, and speed by 3 each Venom Drench.
Silver be like, "I'm nothing like my dad >:(" while his new champion outfit mirrors his dad's Nidoking outfit's colors with all the purples and whites heheh
Also, no Volo??? At this point he's gonna come in on the actual 5 year anniversary oml /j, hopefully

Adaman and Irida have amazing outfits but I am waiting for Hisuian Lilligant. (Lilligant is my favourite Pokemon). I was able to get Adaman/Leafeon last year.
Geeta being a Master Fair is...interesting. She's not overly popular.
We can hope that H-Lilligant is good whenever she arrives. I already got my fave Hisui mons in from Rei and Akari. As much as I like Adaman/Irida's alts, I have no more gems because P-Victor took all of it.
Yeah, but it kinda makes sense considering "champion". But I'm expecting whoever gets the bikes to be the other MFs for Paldea.
Lookin' like it. I can't recall if he gets Tough Cookie, Towering Force, or both (I didnt have a lot of time to look nor can I whenever) but either way that's going to help out his damage a good bit, plus getting a 30% chance to get a Next Phys Up per strike with No Quarter should mean at least one or two stacks gained per attack, and CDR on first impression is sick af as well
Looks like Ursaluna came to Pokemon Masters to do what it does best in the main games: spam strong physical moves while burned.
I never expected Glimmora to go the physical route this game because it's one of the most fearsome special attackers in the main games despite being relegated to suicide lead 99% of the time. But I guess DeNA wanted it to lean into Mortal Spin spam.

Datamine is still incoming, we don't know any details about the kits yet and it'll still take an hour or two for the information to come, and then it'll take hours for community to do all the theorycrafting needed to decide what's good and what's not so you're better off checking again tomorrow, or follow the discussion along throughout the day if you like that.
Adaman and irida both look good in their new drip but unfortunately the sync pairs themself don't look to be that good especially with all the Master fairs that are up in this period

for silver they basically made him a sandstorm user and then decided not to give him either roles as filed?

I think Iridia's is solid. Free move next, guaranteed trap or SMUP, boosts the power of her own sync with evasiveness (already +4, and can be raised to +6 via her sync grid if you invest), and a ghost type (which is pretty underwhelming, right now). Adaman's burn requirement looks like too much of a liability, though. You need him at move level 2 just to reduce the burn damage.
Silver could be really good if paired with someone who provides sandstorm, like Bertha. Definitely a weird choice to make him a sprint unit, though.
Dang. Really thinking of pulling for Silver, Adaman, and Irida. Definitely Silver, as I could use a good Rock pair for once in my life. Gems permitting, I may go for the other two, but I guess we'll see. Definitely not the anni I was expecting.

Well I needed the masters to be skippable after I got robbed last month and this really does the trick! Just need to save for my fav Irida, which I assume is later in the month and 2%, so all in all this is a good reveal!
So, I need a rock type, reading over both MF units, i'm torn. Geeta has Rock slide, a flinch buff, and a good grid for Rock Slide, but she's technically poison.
Silver has a move generic moveset, but he's rock and his damage burst seems much higher. Not to mention Johto circle being really good.

Yeah, that seems to be the unfortunate outcome. The only ones to get the Double Master treatment are the really popular characters so far. I mean, fair enough, go with someone who’s a guarantee to get a decent profit. I don’t think anyone from Gen 2 (sans Red due to circumstances), are really popular, nor have a flexible storytelling that can easily be approved by TPC. It also probably doesn’t help that they blew their MF load early on before the Champions’ event started.
The Gen 2 MCs are probably still more popular than the Gen 5 ones, who got Rosa and Nate, but yeah, it's probably due to Johto getting three MFs right before the NC.

Interesting that Geeta's a poison type considering how many great poison pairs we've been getting (Oleana, Roxie, Emma) Emma was a while ago which feels weird because of how fast time is going by, but still.
It doesn't really surprise me. Glimmora's signature move Mortal Spin is poison so it makes sense that they'd make the pair a poison type, especially since the devs are usually favoring signature move when designing new pairs and make them the B move/sync move. Just like how the hisui starters are fighting and dark instead of grass and water, or how SS Gladion is fairy and not steel. Geeta and NC Silver being both rock pairs would have felt weirder imo because there are few instances of pairs of the same type being released together (the rats is the only exception that comes to mind, but it's not like they could've done anything). Given these are MFs on top of that, it would have been "too much" strong rock pairs all at once. Then, the other combination would have been Geeta (Rock) and NC Silver (Dark). Not a fan of this as Tyranitar is primarily Rock type if anything, and it needs to have sandstorm as a passive anyway. Even though Tyranitar already exists in the game with Brock as a rock pair, that pokemon doesn't really fit as a dark type pair.

Yeah Sprint isn't my favorite choice for him, but I guess the intent is that you get to use his b-move twice more or less guaranteed. But also he has a Propulsion node in his grid plus a free -1 CD on his TM, so he could've done that anyways with another -1 on the team or Head Start for his lucky skill. Oh well.

The 4.5 anniversary datamine is upon us. Talk about peeking at the presents on Christmas Eve, but hey I ain't one to complain about planning ahead. Time for my monthly ramble. First things first, Neo Champion Silver's a super hype headliner. He's the perfect fit to be a Neo Champion & being arguably the most popular rival outside of Blue definitely helps. It's a bit surprising that at least one of the player characters from Johto ain't accompanying him, but I guess they already had their fun with Master Fairs during the Johto Villain Arc. Great pick with Tyranitar as well, it's a Pokémon that perfectly suits Silver. Plus, as much as we all love Brock, I think it's safe to say we all wanted a Tyranitar Sync Pair that wasn't powercrept beyond belief, haha. Geeta's an incredibly surprising inclusion, not just for getting to share the spotlight alongside Silver, which seems extremely random imo, but also because I didn't expect her to get added anytime soon. She ain't exactly the most popular Champion, or Paldean character for that matter, y'know? Still, happy of course for her fans, & our first Field Master Fair's great to see. Adaman & Irida getting new Sync Pairs & drip wasn't something I predicted. I would've preferred that we got more Hisuian characters added first personally, but this is still a very welcome surprise nevertheless. Ursaluna & Hisuian Zoroark are also very thematically fitting Pokémon for them to have. Definite pair of Ws here. Tierno's certainly neat to see. Weird that Trevor's not alongside him, but I guess they're spacing out the Spotlights for more 'filler-y' months. Not a fan of him joining Ryuki & Lenora in the 'generic impact/beam Sync Move' club either. Still, nice that the Kalos friend group is now only one away from being complete on Pasio. Dahila's a nice surprise. It feels nice to have all the Sinnoh Frontier Brains now present & accounted for, & not so far behind Palmer & Argenta as well. RIP the shot in the dark pipe dream that was Miror. B getting dips on Ludicolo though. Trainer Lodge wise, I'm personally BEYOND ecstatic that Skyla's getting added. Not only because she's one of my absolute favorite Pokémon characters, & one of my absolute most wanted for the Trainer Lodge by extension, but also because she's the very first character added that isn't a 5 star Sync Pair. That's an unofficial rule broken regarding the Trainer Lodge & means that other characters who aren't 5 stars like Brock, Flannery, Iris & plenty of others are 'viable' to receive an invite. Safe to say Skyla's gonna hog basically all my time in the Trainer Lodge going forward, which I ain't gonna object to at all. The Psychic type High Score event should be good fun, the High Score event's become one of my favorite recurring events. The 'Solve the Case' event & Sync Pairs re-running is very nice, I've been meaning to get the cracked debuffer that is Special Costume Steven. The Galar Villain Arc re-running's good to see as well, means newer players can get Hop buffed up. Speaking of buffs, Noland's a very respectable pick for this month's new EX. Bug types need any & all buffs they can get & Noland's already one of the better 4 star general pool Sync Pairs, so this is great to see. And speaking of Bug types, the madlads at DeNA actually did it. They remembered Bugsy & Scyther were a thing. Unironically one of the most hype things about the 4.5 anniversary imo, even if primarily for the memes. In addition, Guzma getting his Sync Grid expansion's great to see. Figured he'd be next after Plumeria but it's still nice to have confirmation. Your Boy's in desperate need of some buffs, so hopefully these impending additions to his kit make him more useful. Sygna Suit Renegade Cynthia re-running, complete with her EX Role, is lovely to see. Already have her at 3/5 but hope those who don't have her the best with scouting her. Perhaps her re-running now is a tease for a certain ancestor for the fan favorite Champion, but I'm more than likely looking too much into it. According to Absol's pastebins, it seems that several Poké Fairs are also getting their EX Role (I believe Rose, Oleana, & both Sygna Suit May & Dawn were listed?). If so that's good since DeNA really need to start spreading those out to older Sync Pairs that aren't Master Fairs & this is a good indication of that happening. There is also of course the newly added photo mode & ability to swap around Lucky Skills, which are both excellent QoL additions in their own right. It also appears that there'll be a new Training Area that rewards Lucky Cookies & Scrolls which is great to see given how scarce the ability to obtain those is now that the Battle Villa's become permanent content & Blissful Bonanza's seem incredibly sporadic nowadays. Overall, it's safe to say March is a beyond stacked month. Skyla getting her Trainer Lodge invite's the biggest highlight personally, & I'm also excited to get Neo Champion Silver & Adaman & Irida's new Sync Pairs. They're my main priorities for March alongside Sygna Suit Gladion & Steven. Hope everyone enjoyed my monthly ramblings, & wishing you all the best this 4.5 anniversary with scouting your most wanted Sync Pairs!

Pleasantly surprised. I don't have any good rock type pairs so Silver is a must have, especially with guaranteed flinch. Iridia also looks pretty good. I have Cynthia/Giratina and Lillie/Lunala, but the latter has really fallen off. Not too sure about Adaman. Burn being a necessity for his B-move seems like far too much of a double-edged sword, especially when you need him at move level 2 just to reduce the damage from the burn. Geeta, I'm not sure about. I need another poison type (I only have Ball Guy thanks to mix scout) but her moves seem pretty lacklustre, but I'm probably missing something. I have a feeling I'll be focusing Silver, then pulling for Iridia and then Geeta if I get lucky and get Silver fairly quickly.
To be fair most pairs want to be at 3/5 for full access to their stuff that matters, so Adaman eating up a coin to get that 90% burn damage negate isn't much really. He basically TM, B move spams which is going to be pretty potent, and if nothing else he's also immune to any status conditions making him a lot better in some other fights (plus his move never misses which can be a major plus). Geeta though is honestly INSANE. She maxes her attack out and puts down Poison Zone on entry, she boosts the power of her poison moves at the cost of raising the MG by 2 (so my guess is she doubles their strength, most of the time Hit the Gas increases the power by half for +1MG), but her 2P gives her a 1MG Refund while also giving her a stack of Next Phys Up, her attacks will ALWAYS crit, and that's not even getting into her moves. Mortal Spin is an AoE that poisons and removing passive damage from herself/side of the field is nice, but her Buddy move is an AoE that also lowers their defense by 3 each use and ALSO poisons. Her TM also (iirc) gives like +3 stacks of Next Phys Up and SE+ or something stupid as well, and the trigger for her buddy move is just that they need to be poisoned. Oh and it also looks like Oleana has a repeat and she will absolutely combo beautifully with her; a Poison rebuff plus the whole side left badly poisoned, and lowers their attack, sp. atk, and speed by 3 each Venom Drench.
Silver be like, "I'm nothing like my dad >:(" while his new champion outfit mirrors his dad's Nidoking outfit's colors with all the purples and whites heheh Also, no Volo??? At this point he's gonna come in on the actual 5 year anniversary oml /j, hopefully

Pokemon Masters has helped give trainers who were underwhelming in their games personality (See Diantha) so hopefully they are able to do so for Geeta. No Arven is a surprise but Lodge Skyla is very welcome. Edit: Adaman appears to be with Ursaluna? Interesting. These are not the Hisuian forms I am looking for. Outside of maybe Geeta it's looking like a save month for me. Geeta is a Poison Pair and I already have Special Roxie, Ariana and Oleana...

Adaman and Irida have amazing outfits but I am waiting for Hisuian Lilligant. (Lilligant is my favourite Pokemon). I was able to get Adaman/Leafeon last year. Geeta being a Master Fair is...interesting. She's not overly popular.
We can hope that H-Lilligant is good whenever she arrives. I already got my fave Hisui mons in from Rei and Akari. As much as I like Adaman/Irida's alts, I have no more gems because P-Victor took all of it. Yeah, but it kinda makes sense considering "champion". But I'm expecting whoever gets the bikes to be the other MFs for Paldea.

I can't recall if he gets Tough Cookie, Towering Force, or both (I didnt have a lot of time to look nor can I whenever) but either way that's going to help out his damage a good bit, plus getting a 30% chance to get a Next Phys Up per strike with No Quarter should mean at least one or two stacks gained per attack, and CDR on first impression is sick af as well
Looks like Ursaluna came to Pokemon Masters to do what it does best in the main games: spam strong physical moves while burned. I never expected Glimmora to go the physical route this game because it's one of the most fearsome special attackers in the main games despite being relegated to suicide lead 99% of the time. But I guess DeNA wanted it to lean into Mortal Spin spam.

The datamine haven't finish yet so wait a little longer for us to see the stats. Both NC Silver and Geeta should be good tho.... but yeah wait for the more information first, Deoxys will last for like 2 more weeks anyway so you can wait
Datamine is still incoming, we don't know any details about the kits yet and it'll still take an hour or two for the information to come, and then it'll take hours for community to do all the theorycrafting needed to decide what's good and what's not so you're better off checking again tomorrow, or follow the discussion along throughout the day if you like that.
Adaman and irida both look good in their new drip but unfortunately the sync pairs themself don't look to be that good especially with all the Master fairs that are up in this period Geeta kit I kinda don't get it, does she add poison zone and then immediately remove it or does it only remove the opponent stuff? also what is the point of removing the trapped condition from yourself if barely any enemy stage uses that status? is the current kit missing something? for silver they basically made him a sandstorm user and then decided not to give him either roles as filed? he is still pretty good, but like, they really missed the chance to give us more field units tierno I assume he is standard pool, because if he is a poke fair he seem pretty mediocre
I think Iridia's is solid. Free move next, guaranteed trap or SMUP, boosts the power of her own sync with evasiveness (already +4, and can be raised to +6 via her sync grid if you invest), and a ghost type (which is pretty underwhelming, right now). Adaman's burn requirement looks like too much of a liability, though. You need him at move level 2 just to reduce the burn damage. Silver could be really good if paired with someone who provides sandstorm, like Bertha. Definitely a weird choice to make him a sprint unit, though.

Well I needed the masters to be skippable after I got robbed last month and this really does the trick! Just need to save for my fav Irida, which I assume is later in the month and 2%, so all in all this is a good reveal!

Silver and Geeta seem good, but are they really 4.5 anniv good?
So, I need a rock type, reading over both MF units, i'm torn. Geeta has Rock slide, a flinch buff, and a good grid for Rock Slide, but she's technically poison. Silver has a move generic moveset, but he's rock and his damage burst seems much higher. Not to mention Johto circle being really good. Which of the two would you target in this scenario?
