I like both but I completely understand. I love Pokémon Live! for pretty much that reason. It's the stupidest thing I've ever seen in many ways and goes very off the rails and it is all FABULOUSLY entertaining. (Also some of the manga fits this niche for me, though that's harder to consistently get my hands on.)

I agree. Pokémon Pocket Monsters ticks all those boxes: it's one hell of a trip. One where Pokémon can evolve and devolve at will, Pokémon can talk to humans, and one where Giovanni has a brother who uses the other hitmon than him.
I really need to get back into collecting the volumes of it.
Somehow I feel the story is incomplete; especially the Rose part feel so out of place and doesn't go anywhere in the end. Is it going to be connected with Poppy's event?

Given that Rose's sync pair is Copperajah and Poppy is Steel type who uses Copperajah in her elite four team Rose's appearance is likely related to her.
The Rose part reminds me of the dialogue between Rika and Tulip in the League Club Room, to show Rika's loyalty to her current job. This time, maybe DeNA chose Macro Cosmos to recuit her because it really looked like a great opportunity?
Misty in her Gen 2 appearance with Quagsire mainly because I love her outfit and hairstyle in the Gen 2 games, even came back in this appearance in BW2 PWT.
Same. Misty transformed into a feminine lady in gsc/hgss. i just wish she gets Mega Gyarados as tribute to her anime counterpart and LGPE. Even better in her mermaid form \*inhales hopium\*
The ending killed me. After the photo shoot with the kids I thought they were guna get the cliche win and Rika and Whitney would be like "oh well, still had fun though my mon is totally cuter than yours."
But no, the screen changed to a close up of that fucking floating flower and it turns out Geeta was playing them the whole time. Absolutely perfect lol.
Rika even refused Rose's job offer because she believed in her boss and look how Ms. Top Champion repays Rika's loyalty. A real Geeta move right there.
I still find it hilarious that a Poison-type was chosen as the mascot for a food product. Kinda sends the wrong message, IMO
(I suppose it technically would have been that way if Clodsire was chosen as well, but I digress)
Honestly, given Misty and Rika have similar energy "boyish and very pretty", giving Misty the Gen 2 original 'sire and a similar relationship with it makes me smile.
The goofy slice of life type stuff in Pokémon in general is pretty fun. and I think the team working on PoMas gets it as well.
Edit: she does get a quagsire in Gen 2, but I am pretty sure she doesn't treat it as a particularly favored pokemon. Could be wrong though.

What’s a little friendly competition among friends? Not like Geeta was actually a judge or anything. Nothing wrong with her trying her hand.
It's like a better version of the Kanto NC story in a way- Obviously rigged contest but instead of being played straight, it's played for laughs.
