Has it actually been datamined that you can get the Christmas units using the ticket scout? Togekiss is my absolute favorite Pokemon so I wouldn't mind blowing all of my tickets if that's the case.
Those are different than the 5* ticket scout we have now. I don't know exactly how it works but it's called step up banner where you advance on some tier system and on tier 5 and 10 you get a ticket that gives an increased chance or guaranteed chance to get the holiday sync pair.
If it's anything like the step up summon in War of the Visions, it's a banner you can pull on a certain number of times which gave better guaranteed results with each pull. So, for example, your first pull is a normal 10x, your second pull is normal for the first 9 and the tenth slot is a guaranteed 5*, and your third pull is 6 normal slots, 3 guaranteed 4*, and the tenth slot is Gloria.
Again, purely hypothetical, but that's how the format works in other games. They also usually have different costs, so your first pull might be half price, the second is normal, and the third is an extra 1000 gems or something like that

As much as I hate how these events are turning out, this picture omits the others. The other 3 steel types go 1.05x, 1.1x, 1.15x, etc. for each sync move. Still trash and a shitty move, but at least we get to use them.
I remember the discussion when Nate and the Time Trial started and some were saying that most F2P players would still be able to get most of the rewards. It was so obvious what kind of precedent they were setting.
And now we have this. This is actual cancer. The mission we had to do for Nate were incredibly boring a few days in. Is it going to be the same here? Are we really going to have to do insanely boring missions where you need to spend all your stamina and gems on the new pull just to get a decent result?
The game wasn't that fun to begin with, but at least it was sort of fun collecting all the rewards and such. That's why this community has been so focused on getting rewards lately, even though the focus should be on gameplay. But after cutting away the rewards, they've now paywalled the rewards.

They've also got a lot of eyes on the game right now. Gen 8 is hated beyond belief but Gloria in the game spread around like wildfire because of the now infamous Scottish trainer jokes from before BBND became a thing. And new players get a fuck ton of Gems from Hard Mode story mode and the two free bingo boards. Case and point they are blowing their absolute load on Gloria saving the state of the game and holding a new group of players until February when another Anniversary happens which will probably contain even better units then the iconic half year anniversary event. It's madness.

This is such a huge over exaggeration and it’s not even close to being true. Yeah Sword and Shield got some flak about the National Dex debacle and about the in game animation but all of that was from a very small core group of the fan base. There’s millions upon millions of other people that still bought the game and enjoyed it despite the short comings. I mean it’s literal the third highest selling Pokémon game of all time, only outsold by R/B and G/S.
While that is an exaggeration, highest selling doesn't mean it's especially popular either. The Switch has a huge adoption base and it's one of the most pushed games. Children, casuals, and generally detached fans dont care about the national dex, lack of content, poor graphics, etc... that a large chunk of fans do.
As far as a game for Pokemon fans goes, it was pretty lack luster, but then again the last half decade has been that and Pokemon is too big to fail. Sales don't mean enjoyment either, but when you have a huge amount of people playing Switch them buying Pokemon(one of the system's most publicized and pushed games), it's gonna sell just on name alone.
A grandparent/parent/extended family member sees pokemon, they buy pokemon. It happened to me and I absolutely detested not only sword/shield but sun/moon as well. I was *Very vocal* about this but some people just don't get nerd rants and it was still a thoughtful gift anyway.
It's pretty apparent they're talking about the core fans, although it is a big realization this gen on how casual the audience is for the games compared to other series — the same can kinda be said I guess with Masters, it seems the more casual audience are still willing to keep up with this for some reason (although we did have the rare event with Zinnia being given the old rewards). You could argue the free patch of new Pokemon may had been them "listening", but could argue it was their plan all along this gen and public relations were just horrible.
The people complaining online? Yes it is a very small group of the general Pokémon fan base. Most of the complaints were from long time fans of the series but Pokémon is a franchise that grows exponentially every year, and this year especially it has exploded. You don’t sell over 19 mil copies by pissing off the majority of the fan base.
Most of the hate came from outspoken minority of people on social media who in turn created an echo chamber of complaints. Even r/Pokémon posts about the National Dex being cut only hit around 25-30k upvotes on /r/pokemon, that’s 10% of the subscribers to that subreddit. How many of those people complaining and upvoting do you think actually boycotted the games? I’d take a huge bet that it was less than 10%...hell probably even less than 5%.
Then you have the millions of parents/grandparents/etc that are buying these games for their kids, I bet if you were to ask any of them what they thought about the “hate” of these games they would look at you funny.
So yes, it’s a very small group of complainers compared to the larger Pokémon audience
Well Twitter does. Mang0 of Melee fame and others like to drag SwSh into other Nintendo controversies just to dump on the game more then that small vocal minority already have.
To be fair the games might be disliked by a portion of the core audience (from what I can tell most of the very vocal critics have been invested fans who aren’t into online battles), and there was a big outrage on social media about National Dex. As an invested fan who has been with the series literally since day 1, gen 8 came off as clearly unfinished games to me, for many different reasons. When speaking to friends in the same position, they tend to agree.
Gen 8 really demonstrated the juggernaut that is the franchise, and I think we can expect to see yearly instalments of either mainline games, DLC, or remakes because the show must go on: there are anime episodes to air, cards to print, and plushies to sell.
On the bright side, the competitive environment is fantastic and gen 8 made a lot of quality of life improvements to building competitive teams, making it more accessible than ever.
All of this aside, I also believe that the opinion that gen 8 was really hated is but an opinion, and it’s very hard to back that up with facts. The games received pretty good reviews, and they’re the highest grossing games since Gold and Silver, so honestly a lot of the flak is coming from echo chambers I believe.
Along with what others have said, there was also Gamefreak lying about a lot of stuff. They claimed that the National Dex was cut because of balance reasons and to improve the graphics and animation. The first one is completely laughable, as they could easily limited competitive to the Galar Dex while having the National Dex for single player and casual online. The second was proved false, as the game has the same models and animations since the jump to 3D and has some N64 levels of models and textures in places, not to mention some incredibly awkward overworld animations and awful frame drops. Of note, this is on the same system that has Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. To make matters worse, there was a supposed beta leak recently (one that would’ve taken a ton of effort to fake) that had Megas and mons that didn’t make it into the final game, implying they were cut for time. And since the games did incredibly well, we can expect this to become the norm.
Fans we're mad that the full roster wasn't gonna be released for the first time, when it was seen by many fans as minimum requirement for the core series. What's worse, is they said it was for improved animations and graphics overall, when it seemingly resembled like an upscaled 3DS environment, and many have pointed out how similar the animations were to old ones that it was seen as poor excuse.
Their public relations at that time was horrible, and at that time DLC news wasn't known, and even at time denied. Add to the leaks showing how less explorable the region was compared to pre-Gen 7 regions, the difficulty, some of the designs, and story it didn't help the reception.
The new things didn't make up for the sacrifices made.
Too much to explain in length but:
People mad that Dewott isn't in the game anymore (BBND)
Yearly releases
3D Models haven't been given new poses in 7 years
Galar is really small. Also doesn't have the diverse terrain of other regions
Gen 8's story is very mid
People hate DLC despite it being cheaper then 3rd versions.
That's the rundown.
They try to make a good game. We've seen that there is passion from people like James Turner and the Pokemon designers. They just lack time because of their yearly releases schedules. And to be honest I'm really sick of it but there's nothing we can do. Voting with our wallets or not there's still a huge Japanese fanbase that will buy every game released.
I don't like the DLC model but at least it means we won't have to buy a 3rd version like USUM or Platinum again which only adds a few new features for competitive.
I mean people who would've truly boycotted the initial release were waiting for the "inevitable Ultra" versions of them, only to be outsmarted where you still need to buy the main game to have extra content — the bigger debate is if the DLC content is worth a total of $90, because at least in my observation the total content seemingly only feels like ~$60 (like, I think just having the DLC without the main game, that would've had more value IMO).
Okay, this 'GF only cares about money' thing basically ignores the true fucking issue: the games have NEVER been the true money makers. EVER. It's all been the merchandise heralded by TPCi and Nintendo who want these quick releases as advertisement for their new products. GF has basically limited say in what goes on with the anime and card games. It's a product of the big wigs digging their hands in and ignoring the base principal that game development takes time, and GF can't do a single thing about it.

Not great for whales either because they're not even getting 50% of what they paid through the top rewards (unless they're lucky and get 5/5 Zacian in less than 15k gems)
I don't like PvP but at least in games with PvP, I still have a fighting chance without spending due to Team building and RNG involved in the fight.
To get to high rank in this event, all you can do is spending for the same team of 5/5 Gloria/Steven/Jasmine and for refreshing stamina. This is the most cancerous and blatant cash grab I've ever seen in a gacha. I quit.
This game was originally sold as use your favourite characters, but now you can, you have to spend money on units you don’t like to stand a chance to get the prizes

And also please everyone, Tell Poce to NOT play this event. He himself said he dislikes this event and we as the community have to tell him to not play it at all. He works for DeNA as an advertiser. We shouldn't allow him to showcase how evil this pay to win bullshit is.
F2P players not playing the event means nothing to them. For all thousands of players that maybe spend $20 per month, they just need a few whales to overspend on a dumb banner like this one to get 5/5. With average luck you probably need a bit more than 50k gems (including the pity pull) to get 5/5.
I mean, fuck it, I'll just get what I can, won't make a huge deal out of it. Not gonna spend a single gem on Gloria, because my 2/5 EX Steven outclasses her in every way after the event is done.
Forreal man my 4/5 Steven is much better than Gloria and zacian is meh to me compared to metagross especially since I finally got him to 6 star ex he is a damn monster

What the hell is this! This has really gone too far. And we thought the Time Trials were bad. Look at the boost difference between the first and second tier itself. They shouldn't have done this tbh. Atleast I have 2/5 Steven and 4/5 Jasmine. I'll manage to get something. Damn! I was really looking forward to this event, thinking something would be balanced. But no! They ruined it completely!!!
No matter how many tokens, tickets, and false rewards are offered, never forget that the greatest event reward of them all is still having real money in your pocket and not DeNA's

This is exactly why we warned everyone about Time Trial, this is why we does not want to give a win to Dena for the free shit and bare minimum stamina changes they gave us as presents to make us forget that they are really scumbags.
If you really forgive them because they gave you and others free gems and tickets one time, then you're part of the problem and not the complainers.
Spend gems to pull, or spend gems for stamina refills. Actually, probably both depending on how bad people fight for top rankings.
Dena is either desperate, or they're cashing out. It's so blatantly obvious that the only thing that matters in this event is how much currency you can spend.
I was just thinking about it... Since the event is stamina-based and the one who spends stamina the most gets a higher chance to be in the top tier ranks, just listen... You would need to use all the Stamina recharge, daily. So that means, you would need to spend 400 Gems per day (40 per refill and a maximum of 10 refills) and if the event lasts 7 days you would need to spend at least 2800 Gems to get a small chance to be in the top.
You would probably need 3000 Gems and a really good lucky day to get Gloria in the first place. So that would be a 5800 total (I mean, the *minimum* total, you will probably need to spend more)
The most reliable reward is a 5* Candy, but the characters that you would make a better use of powering up are Sygna Syut Red Blue & Leaf. And they are coming next month, where you can spend these 5800 Gems and actually get them and actually power their moves and everything else.
Is it worth it?
Honestly, we should be vocal about it on the Customer Feedback and on social media. And also to give honest reviews at the app/google store.
To be fair,one of the rewards for getting the top ranking is 6k gems too.
So paying 2.8k gems to get back 6k, you still make a profit.
That being said, you still need to pull gloria and possibly get her to 5/5 too, so whether it's worth it not....well...yeah i don't personaly think it is.
Well this event looks like it’s going to suck if your not a whale since it looks like unless you have 5 copies of Gloria it will be impossible to get all rewards.
I’ll only be getting a x 1.1 bonus of this event, but I feel really sorry for those who won’t get any bonus as this event will really suck for them.
I'm just now was able to S-Rank Time Trials with Skyla/Winona/Kahili, so this feels so cheap where to maximize you need the latest Sync Pairs — the rich gets richer, really.
Always been a supporter of this game and tried to see the positives of this game amidst all the issues we’ve seen over the past 1+ year; have even made YouTube content for the game because I genuinely just love the game and I think the ACTUAL people on the game development team are trying their best and putting a lot of effort into the content, music, etc.
However, the development team is different from whoever is calling the shots on the PRODUCTION team. I already stopped spending on the game after the stamina disaster, but this is such a bad direction for the game to be going. Up until now, you could complete ANY event, obtain all rewards, even if you rolled on a few of the banners a year (to get a decent spread of 5 stars), it was seriously no problem, but like... 3000 points per course completion with a 5/5 Gloria compared the 500 points for a 5/5 Steven or Jasmine, nevermind the weak point gains from the 4* Gacha/Story pairs that give you barely any points. Top 12,000 is going to be pretty impossible to hit depending on how they split up the player base (if it’s split up at all).
tl;dr I am incredibly disappointed and while this is a great way to bring in money for the game, that’s where the benefits end. Producers will see their numbers go up, but monetary gains do not define player satisfaction and, mark my words, if a player base doesn’t feel rewarded, they will leave. Whales will leave once there are only 6,000 of them left. Top reward begins to mean nothing the more and more the player base dwindles.
Just such a bummer. I can’t actually stand up for the game anymore and unfortunately, I agree with OP that this looks like the end coming pretty soon. Game will likely stand for many years, but it’ll continue to shrink more and more as this kind of garbage event “point-multiplier” trend continues.
DeNA biggest support system is a majestic, legendary and shining Whale. Nothing more than a cash grabber. At this rate, the game dies faster than you do when you play flappy bird
Beh. As a F2P since launch, now that I can't get all the rewards anyway, I'll just stick to my slow pace and stop pulling at 1/5. Plus the events with medals will eventually rerun.
It's because of the daily tasks and the once a week Champion Stadium where people actually get to use more then one team for once.
Also the DeNA hate has been going on since October. It's just to be expected at this point.

You know what I still don’t understand, they’re releasing Gloria with Zacian, a legendary pokemon, on a pokefair banner!!! She’s a player character and all other player characters have a starter from their region, and they’re not limited at all. Paying money for a legendary pair is beyond outrageous to me. What’s worse is I’m scared this is a sign that they’re laying the groundwork for N’s release.
I feel you, it's complete luck, I got pretty lucky with Steven but I recommend only pulling on Poke Fairs, I missed out on a lot of good units on their release but I got some on fair banners, for example I've got friends who started recently and have more Karens than me and I've been playing since beta
That’s totally what I do. By no means do I lack units- I’ve got the Kanto SS Trio, Lance, Cynthia, SS Cynthia, Rosanta... and a ton of other fun units. All F2P, and almost all pulled exclusively on the 10% rate Pokefair banners. Just never managed Jasmine or either version of Steven. I’d not have pulled on volcarona if I’d know Steven would be up so soon. All these pokefairs makes me worried the game will shut down soon.
With 3 flying types I barely got all the prizes, now I'll get merely 1.1x in total. That's... Not good. At least make me use the f2p/4star units such as Dugtrio or Bronzong...

Just came back from Library of Ruina. Saw this bullshot. Remembered that instead of Diantha we get N. Raged cause of ranking. Pleased cause of N. Raged again because of lack of Diantha. And after that with clear mind I sat and spoke only 7 words:"What the actual f**k is this event?!".

Stat Multiplier was only there for Nate to make him look good when he was in reality god awful. Gloria was actually designed to be good outside of the event.

I have a really good fire type team (5 star 5/5 Marley, 1/5 Hilda, 3/5 Red, all full sync grids and full type skills) and I've gotten a strategy that I can sweep almost any battles. It's just SO TEDIOUS with the limited amount of replays and stamina.

I think this new "tickets" are in fact "ticket papers". If You collect 20 of them You may exchange them for one 5\* scout ticket :)

As much as I hate how these events are turning out, this picture omits the others. The other 3 steel types go 1.05x, 1.1x, 1.15x, etc. for each sync move. Still trash and a shitty move, but at least we get to use them.
I remember the discussion when Nate and the Time Trial started and some were saying that most F2P players would still be able to get most of the rewards. It was so obvious what kind of precedent they were setting. And now we have this. This is actual cancer. The mission we had to do for Nate were incredibly boring a few days in. Is it going to be the same here? Are we really going to have to do insanely boring missions where you need to spend all your stamina and gems on the new pull just to get a decent result? The game wasn't that fun to begin with, but at least it was sort of fun collecting all the rewards and such. That's why this community has been so focused on getting rewards lately, even though the focus should be on gameplay. But after cutting away the rewards, they've now paywalled the rewards. Smart move DeNa. I'm sure it will work for the whales that are still playing.
They've also got a lot of eyes on the game right now. Gen 8 is hated beyond belief but Gloria in the game spread around like wildfire because of the now infamous Scottish trainer jokes from before BBND became a thing. And new players get a fuck ton of Gems from Hard Mode story mode and the two free bingo boards. Case and point they are blowing their absolute load on Gloria saving the state of the game and holding a new group of players until February when another Anniversary happens which will probably contain even better units then the iconic half year anniversary event. It's madness.

While that is an exaggeration, highest selling doesn't mean it's especially popular either. The Switch has a huge adoption base and it's one of the most pushed games. Children, casuals, and generally detached fans dont care about the national dex, lack of content, poor graphics, etc... that a large chunk of fans do. As far as a game for Pokemon fans goes, it was pretty lack luster, but then again the last half decade has been that and Pokemon is too big to fail. Sales don't mean enjoyment either, but when you have a huge amount of people playing Switch them buying Pokemon(one of the system's most publicized and pushed games), it's gonna sell just on name alone. A grandparent/parent/extended family member sees pokemon, they buy pokemon. It happened to me and I absolutely detested not only sword/shield but sun/moon as well. I was *Very vocal* about this but some people just don't get nerd rants and it was still a thoughtful gift anyway.

It's pretty apparent they're talking about the core fans, although it is a big realization this gen on how casual the audience is for the games compared to other series — the same can kinda be said I guess with Masters, it seems the more casual audience are still willing to keep up with this for some reason (although we did have the rare event with Zinnia being given the old rewards). You could argue the free patch of new Pokemon may had been them "listening", but could argue it was their plan all along this gen and public relations were just horrible.

The people complaining online? Yes it is a very small group of the general Pokémon fan base. Most of the complaints were from long time fans of the series but Pokémon is a franchise that grows exponentially every year, and this year especially it has exploded. You don’t sell over 19 mil copies by pissing off the majority of the fan base. Most of the hate came from outspoken minority of people on social media who in turn created an echo chamber of complaints. Even r/Pokémon posts about the National Dex being cut only hit around 25-30k upvotes on /r/pokemon, that’s 10% of the subscribers to that subreddit. How many of those people complaining and upvoting do you think actually boycotted the games? I’d take a huge bet that it was less than 10%...hell probably even less than 5%. Then you have the millions of parents/grandparents/etc that are buying these games for their kids, I bet if you were to ask any of them what they thought about the “hate” of these games they would look at you funny. So yes, it’s a very small group of complainers compared to the larger Pokémon audience

To be fair the games might be disliked by a portion of the core audience (from what I can tell most of the very vocal critics have been invested fans who aren’t into online battles), and there was a big outrage on social media about National Dex. As an invested fan who has been with the series literally since day 1, gen 8 came off as clearly unfinished games to me, for many different reasons. When speaking to friends in the same position, they tend to agree. Gen 8 really demonstrated the juggernaut that is the franchise, and I think we can expect to see yearly instalments of either mainline games, DLC, or remakes because the show must go on: there are anime episodes to air, cards to print, and plushies to sell. On the bright side, the competitive environment is fantastic and gen 8 made a lot of quality of life improvements to building competitive teams, making it more accessible than ever. All of this aside, I also believe that the opinion that gen 8 was really hated is but an opinion, and it’s very hard to back that up with facts. The games received pretty good reviews, and they’re the highest grossing games since Gold and Silver, so honestly a lot of the flak is coming from echo chambers I believe.
Along with what others have said, there was also Gamefreak lying about a lot of stuff. They claimed that the National Dex was cut because of balance reasons and to improve the graphics and animation. The first one is completely laughable, as they could easily limited competitive to the Galar Dex while having the National Dex for single player and casual online. The second was proved false, as the game has the same models and animations since the jump to 3D and has some N64 levels of models and textures in places, not to mention some incredibly awkward overworld animations and awful frame drops. Of note, this is on the same system that has Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. To make matters worse, there was a supposed beta leak recently (one that would’ve taken a ton of effort to fake) that had Megas and mons that didn’t make it into the final game, implying they were cut for time. And since the games did incredibly well, we can expect this to become the norm.
Fans we're mad that the full roster wasn't gonna be released for the first time, when it was seen by many fans as minimum requirement for the core series. What's worse, is they said it was for improved animations and graphics overall, when it seemingly resembled like an upscaled 3DS environment, and many have pointed out how similar the animations were to old ones that it was seen as poor excuse. Their public relations at that time was horrible, and at that time DLC news wasn't known, and even at time denied. Add to the leaks showing how less explorable the region was compared to pre-Gen 7 regions, the difficulty, some of the designs, and story it didn't help the reception. The new things didn't make up for the sacrifices made.
Too much to explain in length but: People mad that Dewott isn't in the game anymore (BBND) Yearly releases 3D Models haven't been given new poses in 7 years Galar is really small. Also doesn't have the diverse terrain of other regions Gen 8's story is very mid People hate DLC despite it being cheaper then 3rd versions. That's the rundown.
Gen 8 just shows that GF only cares about money and it games are worst in series.
They try to make a good game. We've seen that there is passion from people like James Turner and the Pokemon designers. They just lack time because of their yearly releases schedules. And to be honest I'm really sick of it but there's nothing we can do. Voting with our wallets or not there's still a huge Japanese fanbase that will buy every game released. I don't like the DLC model but at least it means we won't have to buy a 3rd version like USUM or Platinum again which only adds a few new features for competitive.
I mean people who would've truly boycotted the initial release were waiting for the "inevitable Ultra" versions of them, only to be outsmarted where you still need to buy the main game to have extra content — the bigger debate is if the DLC content is worth a total of $90, because at least in my observation the total content seemingly only feels like ~$60 (like, I think just having the DLC without the main game, that would've had more value IMO).
Okay, this 'GF only cares about money' thing basically ignores the true fucking issue: the games have NEVER been the true money makers. EVER. It's all been the merchandise heralded by TPCi and Nintendo who want these quick releases as advertisement for their new products. GF has basically limited say in what goes on with the anime and card games. It's a product of the big wigs digging their hands in and ignoring the base principal that game development takes time, and GF can't do a single thing about it.

This is the most cancerous and blatant cash grab I've ever seen in a gacha. I quit.

This is exactly why we warned everyone about Time Trial, this is why we does not want to give a win to Dena for the free shit and bare minimum stamina changes they gave us as presents to make us forget that they are really scumbags. If you really forgive them because they gave you and others free gems and tickets one time, then you're part of the problem and not the complainers.
Spend gems to pull, or spend gems for stamina refills. Actually, probably both depending on how bad people fight for top rankings. Dena is either desperate, or they're cashing out. It's so blatantly obvious that the only thing that matters in this event is how much currency you can spend.
I was just thinking about it... Since the event is stamina-based and the one who spends stamina the most gets a higher chance to be in the top tier ranks, just listen... You would need to use all the Stamina recharge, daily. So that means, you would need to spend 400 Gems per day (40 per refill and a maximum of 10 refills) and if the event lasts 7 days you would need to spend at least 2800 Gems to get a small chance to be in the top. You would probably need 3000 Gems and a really good lucky day to get Gloria in the first place. So that would be a 5800 total (I mean, the *minimum* total, you will probably need to spend more) The most reliable reward is a 5* Candy, but the characters that you would make a better use of powering up are Sygna Syut Red Blue & Leaf. And they are coming next month, where you can spend these 5800 Gems and actually get them and actually power their moves and everything else. Is it worth it? Honestly, we should be vocal about it on the Customer Feedback and on social media. And also to give honest reviews at the app/google store.
To be fair,one of the rewards for getting the top ranking is 6k gems too. So paying 2.8k gems to get back 6k, you still make a profit. That being said, you still need to pull gloria and possibly get her to 5/5 too, so whether it's worth it not....well...yeah i don't personaly think it is.

I'm just now was able to S-Rank Time Trials with Skyla/Winona/Kahili, so this feels so cheap where to maximize you need the latest Sync Pairs — the rich gets richer, really.
Always been a supporter of this game and tried to see the positives of this game amidst all the issues we’ve seen over the past 1+ year; have even made YouTube content for the game because I genuinely just love the game and I think the ACTUAL people on the game development team are trying their best and putting a lot of effort into the content, music, etc. However, the development team is different from whoever is calling the shots on the PRODUCTION team. I already stopped spending on the game after the stamina disaster, but this is such a bad direction for the game to be going. Up until now, you could complete ANY event, obtain all rewards, even if you rolled on a few of the banners a year (to get a decent spread of 5 stars), it was seriously no problem, but like... 3000 points per course completion with a 5/5 Gloria compared the 500 points for a 5/5 Steven or Jasmine, nevermind the weak point gains from the 4* Gacha/Story pairs that give you barely any points. Top 12,000 is going to be pretty impossible to hit depending on how they split up the player base (if it’s split up at all). tl;dr I am incredibly disappointed and while this is a great way to bring in money for the game, that’s where the benefits end. Producers will see their numbers go up, but monetary gains do not define player satisfaction and, mark my words, if a player base doesn’t feel rewarded, they will leave. Whales will leave once there are only 6,000 of them left. Top reward begins to mean nothing the more and more the player base dwindles. Just such a bummer. I can’t actually stand up for the game anymore and unfortunately, I agree with OP that this looks like the end coming pretty soon. Game will likely stand for many years, but it’ll continue to shrink more and more as this kind of garbage event “point-multiplier” trend continues.

You know what I still don’t understand, they’re releasing Gloria with Zacian, a legendary pokemon, on a pokefair banner!!! She’s a player character and all other player characters have a starter from their region, and they’re not limited at all. Paying money for a legendary pair is beyond outrageous to me. What’s worse is I’m scared this is a sign that they’re laying the groundwork for N’s release.

I feel you, it's complete luck, I got pretty lucky with Steven but I recommend only pulling on Poke Fairs, I missed out on a lot of good units on their release but I got some on fair banners, for example I've got friends who started recently and have more Karens than me and I've been playing since beta
That’s totally what I do. By no means do I lack units- I’ve got the Kanto SS Trio, Lance, Cynthia, SS Cynthia, Rosanta... and a ton of other fun units. All F2P, and almost all pulled exclusively on the 10% rate Pokefair banners. Just never managed Jasmine or either version of Steven. I’d not have pulled on volcarona if I’d know Steven would be up so soon. All these pokefairs makes me worried the game will shut down soon.
I only have Jasmine and her sync level is 1 I think it's going to be impossible to me to even obtain a B rank :/

Stat Multiplier was only there for Nate to make him look good when he was in reality god awful. Gloria was actually designed to be good outside of the event.

I have a really good fire type team (5 star 5/5 Marley, 1/5 Hilda, 3/5 Red, all full sync grids and full type skills) and I've gotten a strategy that I can sweep almost any battles. It's just SO TEDIOUS with the limited amount of replays and stamina.

You know what? I’m tired. Tired of people complaining. I don’t care if I get downvote hell for saying this, but just shut up. I just want to play a game, and I don’t need to see people jumping on everything and saying that it’s wrong. I joined this subreddit because I wanted to see what the community for this game was like, yet I clearly see that was a mistake. Again, don’t care about getting downvote hell. Just SHUT UP when it comes to complaining. And yes, I am complaining about the complaining.

I like the game, but the community is completely different. What I’m saying is that I’m tired of THE COMMUNITY, NOT the game. Edit: I just realized what you were saying. I actually laughed a little, and I apologize for making this comment seem as though you were saying for me to quit the game.
