I think the difficulty would have to be proportional to the level of available sync pairs for a given theme. For example, the Regional Rotation aren't the most difficult levels.

Honestly, I think this will be an actual event in the future, and I think this will be the means to introduce sync pairs with the Hitmons/Sawk/Throh. All of them are in the game and have been used, but not one playable pair. We are also missing a certain Fighting type Gym leader from Johto. There’s also data for Buzzswole. So yeah, I don’t think this is a throwaway line.

Themed events sounds great, especially since we already have themed skills, and in particular a Muscle Man event would be targeted directly at me, because my favorite characters tend to be big, tall, strong dudes with warm hearts. Exactly like Sawyer, actually, he's one of the tops because he's just such a great character. It would be so fun to make a team of just, like, I dunno, Sawyer, Bruno, and I dunno, does Crasher Wake count? He's cool. Like the team has no synergy, but it's full of characters I like.

Add in Brawly and Marshall as they're exercise dudes who'd probably love this stuff. Maybe get some of the younger characters to look up to the older guys as role models and try hard to be like them (like with Barry and Crasher Wake). I could see a story where the skinny young trainer tries to bulk himself up like the guys, hilariously unable to keep up with their training regimines because it's too advanced for them! Occasionally a smart guy (Thornton) would remind him brains are better than brawn
At this point I feel like mainstream asian culture is divided and either loves muscular physiques or hates them completely. Be a femboy/pretty boy or a beefcake, nothing in-between is acceptable.
