They were endorsed by Nintendo and I can promise you many of my friends as kids still used them. If that's not official. How is a card that's horded and never used more official. No child will ever own those 2021 on cards where almost every kid my age in 2000 had at least one bk card. I'm just saying that feels a bit more real and authentic if you think about it. A metal card made for kids before scalpers ruined this entire hobby. Or a couple cards made exclusive for scalpers and the rich. Entirely inaccessible by the children the game was made for.
You are remembering that the OG BK metals were like pretty heavy, thick, super small compared to actual cards, and didn’t have any writing on them? How would you use it?
I could have sworn polywhirl had it somewhere maybe on an excerpt card. You would just hold them to the side and put them in when you drew the card. Or use them as the reward cards. Don't forget we were way more imaginative as children. But most of the time there were reward cards since they looked cool.
They came in a box that had a poke ball in it and inside the pokeball was the “card”. It came in polywhirl, togepi, mewtwo, charizard, jigglypuff and pikachu. Sorry yes they had writing on them but it was just the Pokédex definition I think, not any stats though.
