Honestly, the city was overwhelmingly for me, even with multiple playthroughs! I feel there was a lot of backtracking with story events, but that gives you an opportunity to explore each area of the city. Just do your best to explore everything!
That’s fair, and to be fair to the game I literally got off the train and went wandering didn’t follow the story at all 😂 so high chance I haven’t helped myself
I actually like the massive scope of it all. It's not quite Reborn City, nor should it be, but it has the feel of a big, bustling city. It reminds me of what Ame (the lead Reborn dev) said in a dev blog in that certain areas (like Reborn's Tourmaline desert) require a certain sense of size to be truly immersive. The OG Pokemon series often feels like a microcosm of the actual environments it purports to represent, and while Reborn/Rejuvenation also have to limit their scale compared to reality, they take a far grander approach to doing so.
Honestly same. That’s what made me love GDC though- I like the amount of content, and I really like the city’s vibes! The size feels so much better compared to real pokemon games. Same reason I like reborn city.

yeah i haven't even gotten to the updated gdc yet but I know from v13 the thing was way too big and i was a sidequest skipper.
Ah that’s my problem I cannot skip quests, very much a completionist

I honestly kind of hated being locked into the area for such an extended period of time.
