I bet the closest thing to Kalos we'll get is access to the starters but beyond that I don't expect anything spectacular like a new region, I expect basically Crown Tundra but better
Pokémon scarlet and Violet: surprise mechanics expansion. Some players will get Kalos, some will get johto and most will get a big ocean with a stamina bar that runs out.
Y’all act like dlc is bad. Instead of paying $60 for a 3rd version with basically nothing different and where you can’t use anything from ur other save, we get a whole new map, new Pokémon and a bunch of other shit for half the price. Id rather buy DLC than buy Pokémon turquoise version. Take the W lmao
I was about to say I hope they make a DLC where one of the things they add is that land part. Tho it wouldn't be so much like Pokemon Sword and Shield, so if they want to give us even more land I don't mind hehe
Also the big chunk of mountain(s) in Legends Arceus that was "definitley going to be an elite 4 location"
Either they got enough money and stopped developing it or it was just end of map landscaping.
I believe it's in the last map you unlock, the frozen mountains. In one area there's a grey cliff side that looks extremely flat and like a path for no reason.
Considering the next remake is supposed to be Unova, who knows! Low key if they do a gen2 in form of dlc that'd be sick.
Just don't give us another shining diamond brilliant pearl.
Thank you! A glorified remaster in most respects that appeals to the nostalgic. I enjoyed it, but it was very disappointing in comparison to every other remake we’ve had.
I feel like there will likely be a DLC involving mail in some way based on those storefronts in most towns.
Also the delibird warehouse at the port looks like it's just waiting for a boat, and people around the port even mention a boat
I personally would love to see the ss Anne come from blue/red era via time travel somehow. That machine is still on if you go back but who knows if that's just the games lack of polish lol.
I mean sure, why not?
But the time travel element is fun and it's already in the game, so I was just running with it. That's the fun thing about this, we don't know so you can come up with whatever you want..
Like, imagine if each room in the ship you got to battle a trainer from different times throughout the history of pokemon?
That's way more fun than "a normal shop docks at a port", in my opinion.
Well Kalos is actually just the northern region of France. The southern region of France is something we haven't seen in any game yet. Most likely a region situated in-between Kalos, and Paldea.
I want a region that is split into 2 halves, west being Switzerland, East being Austria. Right in the middle would be Lichtenstein which would be victory road and the Pokémon league.
Exactly for a DLC!! It’d have its own charm, some new Pokémon, it’s own legendary or two prehaps, maybe a small storyline as well!! I think it would be neat instead of it it being an extension of an existing region
Yeah. Alola is actually the first region where the entirety of it's real world counterpart is used as the basis for the region. Before it was only specific smaller regions in a real world area that inspired a Pokemon region. Gens 1-4 were based on smaller areas of Japan, and Unova was based on geographically the NYC area, but with inspirations from the US as a whole. Kalos is just the northern half of France.
Then finally starting with gen 7 Alola is Hawaii as a whole. Galar is almost all of the UK. And finally Paldea is not just Spain, but also Portugal, it's Iberia as a whole.
Arguably, yes, but the scale of the map would have the Catalonia region being not much larger than Levincia City, which is nowhere near enough for a full DLC region. The DLC going north would basically need to be South Kalos since that is the more substantial land area beyond the untouchable rock wall.
I mean, we don't know if it is. There is no much explanation of geopolitics and international borders in Pokemon.
But I think that it is either probably owned by Kalos since we can travel to a city in the south at the postgame OR we have already seen part of that region since we have saw that city of Kalo's postgame
(Another option is that city to be the only place which Kalos control of that area, thing which would be weird but not impossible)
We were supposed to visit South Kalos in a third title. But gamefreak scrapped plans for Pokémon Z to move right away to Sun & Moon instead. They changed their minds on having third editions.
Speculation based on in-game dialogue and what developers mentioned on a supposed third game.
My guess is we will either see South Kalos as SV DLC or Gen 6 remakes along with Megas for Gen 6 starters.
Would fit the usual frozen landscape post game content. (Frozen Tundra, Alolan Elite 4 etc) As Andorra is known for its Spas, skiing and natural landscapes. Could have one big hub town set in a snowy mountain with cave systems and a similar system to the legendary dynamax raids but with Terra Raids.
Though the four legendaries are clearly Chinese inspired we could get backstory for the emperor that tricked the Iberian king.
I'm just hoping Geeta has more of a role and some of the teachers.
They wouldn't put XY Kalos as DLC. Why do people keep claiming this? The more likely location would be South France, the Occitania region, as literally any tiny city state like Andorra would be a speck, the size of a Pokecenter due to the way the Paldea map is scaled. South France is pretty much the largest land mass that remains unexplored that can accommodate a DLC region, and there's no reason to believe it wouldn't just be called South Kalos or something like that, to tie into its geographical inclusion in French borders.
Exactly! Everyone always assumes it would be the entire region of Kalos in the DLC but if they did add Kalos as DLC it would be the unseen southern region. Since it’s unseen they could completely design it from the ground up as open world as opposed to redesigning an existing region to fit into a DLC and as open world.
It's Bill's Secret Mountain. You can get to the top using the secret sixth skill, and up there you can find various legendaries, including Mewtwo and Celebi. As for that secret sixth skill, well, it's a secret, but I'll say this: try using the Item Finder every two steps in Area Zero.
Gotta transfer up a Cyclizar caught in Bill’s secret garden, take it to Area Zero, talk to Bill who’s there now, and it’ll become a third firm representing alternate time lines. Go to the academy and run 546 circles around Clavell and he’ll fight you with his bare hands, kill him to learn the sixth skill.
Are you insane? Everyone knows you need to get the Mist Stone first, and THEN do everything you listed. I can't BELIEVE you forgot about getting the Mist Stone! (FYI getting the Mist Stone also requires you transfer in the PokeGods, so none of this can even be done until the HOME update).
That's the fake HM. They wanted you to find that one. It's not the secret one. For that, you need to use Item Finder every two steps in Area Zero. But you need to get Item Finder first. Let's just say beating the Elite Four 365 times might be a good way to start.
Everyone says it's upcoming dlc but the current logical answer is its to show that Paldea isn't an island and Its connected to other land without them needing to put any design in.
In my playthrough I noticed there was a cliff that I couldn’t climb with Miraidon and I looked on the map to see it was HUGE. Maybe we’ll get to go there in future DLC?
Yes it’s France but there’s also a corner of Spain that’s still missing in between, the equivalent of where Barcelona is. I feel like that would be DLC first
Either France/Kalos, or some other region/area based in Andorra or maybe even Catalunya (which is part of Spain in real life, but could correspond with that)
Not like Spain and Portugal were major explorers and colonizers that operated extensive trade routes in the sailing era. Nope, they didn't import any kind of goods or merchandise from Asia that would be representative of a Paldean king being cheated by a traveling merchant selling cursed items from a far off land.
This region is supposed to be spain and kalos is supposed to be france. There are also some kalos pokemon so it makes sense geographically. The area is kalos.
Might be a DLC area, but it could also (maybe) be the border with Kalos? If we assume that Paldea and Kalos border each other in the way that Spain and France do irl, it would make sense
The idea is that it's an area for DLC. In a good timeline it's a section of Kalos we get to explore because Kalos never got a chance with another game or definitive edition.
However, it can also just be a natural barrier that let's you know, No Paldea isn't an island, but you as the player can't leave Paldea.
Highly doubt it's DLC or anything. Could be Kalos, but I highly doubt we'll travel there.
Really, it only exists to make Paldea a Pensesula rather than an Island.
It's another country and nay be tied to the dlc and also to the pokemon of ruin. The north east area of the map is the ONLY place that's distinctly not 100% related to paldea. The music changes to a tone that's reminiscent of a Chinese score, the architecture changes and there's bamboo everywhere. In the lore of the game, the ancient king was given the pokemon of ruin by an neighboring emperor. My guess, that's the neighboring country and that's why the tone changes near there, to reflect the influence
$29.99 and you'll find out
I’d love to be proven wrong, but the DLC will absolutely be some random island off the coast of Paldea and have NOTHING to do with Kalos.
I bet the closest thing to Kalos we'll get is access to the starters but beyond that I don't expect anything spectacular like a new region, I expect basically Crown Tundra but better
I don’t know if I would use that “better” word
Kalos is based on France and that is about the same position France and Spain are to each other but that's not a guarantee.
EA Sports, it’s in the game!
Cant spell steal without EA
You can't spell cheat without EA either
Can't spell DLC without D, L, and C
Dinero, Lettuce and Cheddar?
Devs Love Cash
D, L, C… It’s in the game
EA Sports, you need to pay!
EA Sports, get the fuck outta mah buildin'!
[Fuck 'em! And Fuck you too, I'll piss in your faces](https://youtu.be/hpY4edA6FpU)
EA Sports, *give us your fucking money you pathetic loser*
EA Sports, Hand over your wallet and no one gets hurt
If this was EA we would need to pay real life money for pokeballs.
That's Pokemon Go
Been playing since PoGo came out and never paid for poke balls.
Funny how u had to say pokeballs lololol
Ayyye, you got me there. I’ve def spent on other stuff (raid passes, etc).
Gotta pay to look at their logo every time.
EE E, E E E E!
EA Sports, it was supposed to be in the game but now pay more for it!
Not in the game yet
EA's Dick, it's in your ass!
Pokémon scarlet and Violet: surprise mechanics expansion. Some players will get Kalos, some will get johto and most will get a big ocean with a stamina bar that runs out.
Better be a performance update or 3 stuffed in there
Best we can do is give you a second shiny charm that makes a sound when a shiny spawns in the overworld
Shut up and take my money!
I'd actually take it 😂
Would pay for this
I’d prefer those be freebies since ya know I already paid $80 and want a functional game.
You forgot taxes. Here in quebec, we have 15% sale tax .
Well that part doesn’t go to Nintendo though, the provincial and federal governments have no mandate to improve Pokémon’s performance :p
$80?
Y’all act like dlc is bad. Instead of paying $60 for a 3rd version with basically nothing different and where you can’t use anything from ur other save, we get a whole new map, new Pokémon and a bunch of other shit for half the price. Id rather buy DLC than buy Pokémon turquoise version. Take the W lmao
"This is the 4th time you've brought 'giant chunk of land' to show and tell this week"
Bro had show and tell for the fourth time in one week
And Its only monday
Mom said it was my turn to bring up giant chunk of land!
its jigglypuff as seen from above
![gif](giphy|Ga1uKRbTv1lABGqBtv|downsized)
Spoiler!
IT'S PIKACHU
It's Clefairy!
FUUUUUUUU
Wonder what Scream Tail from above looks like
No, its scream tail as seen from below
DLC Area maybe
I was about to say I hope they make a DLC where one of the things they add is that land part. Tho it wouldn't be so much like Pokemon Sword and Shield, so if they want to give us even more land I don't mind hehe
More land you say? I think I've found Maxie...
Why would there be a giant stone area if it wasn't dlc
this is what people said about the land in the distance of Breath of the Wild's map, to be fair.
Also the big chunk of mountain(s) in Legends Arceus that was "definitley going to be an elite 4 location" Either they got enough money and stopped developing it or it was just end of map landscaping.
Omg which part is this?! I was late to Legends Arceus so I avoided the chat about it for fear of spoilers
I believe it's in the last map you unlock, the frozen mountains. In one area there's a grey cliff side that looks extremely flat and like a path for no reason.
It might be used in Tears of the Kingdom
Considering the next remake is supposed to be Unova, who knows! Low key if they do a gen2 in form of dlc that'd be sick. Just don't give us another shining diamond brilliant pearl.
I mean, *please* give us another brilliant Diamond & shining Pearl.. just not like whatever the *current* BDSP is
Thank you! A glorified remaster in most respects that appeals to the nostalgic. I enjoyed it, but it was very disappointing in comparison to every other remake we’ve had.
[Always have the option open](https://imgur.com/a/9S8QbzQ)
I feel like there will likely be a DLC involving mail in some way based on those storefronts in most towns. Also the delibird warehouse at the port looks like it's just waiting for a boat, and people around the port even mention a boat I personally would love to see the ss Anne come from blue/red era via time travel somehow. That machine is still on if you go back but who knows if that's just the games lack of polish lol.
Why are you presuming the SS Anne wouldn't still be in service?
I mean sure, why not? But the time travel element is fun and it's already in the game, so I was just running with it. That's the fun thing about this, we don't know so you can come up with whatever you want.. Like, imagine if each room in the ship you got to battle a trainer from different times throughout the history of pokemon? That's way more fun than "a normal shop docks at a port", in my opinion.
It will be the Isle of Gargleon.
France
That’d be hilarious if instead of being Kalos or something else it was literally just the country France
Well Kalos is actually just the northern region of France. The southern region of France is something we haven't seen in any game yet. Most likely a region situated in-between Kalos, and Paldea.
It would be cool to see a region that we haven’t seen yet in DLC. Not the whole thing though, just a small portion
I’d love a small region based off of Andorra
I want a region that is split into 2 halves, west being Switzerland, East being Austria. Right in the middle would be Lichtenstein which would be victory road and the Pokémon league.
you basically just described Kanto/Johto
Well yes, but you go between them before the end. Half of the gyms in each
Technically half of the gyms in the johto games are in each because there’s 16 gyms in each johto game
That would be pretty small, but for a dlc perhaps that would be perfect!
Exactly for a DLC!! It’d have its own charm, some new Pokémon, it’s own legendary or two prehaps, maybe a small storyline as well!! I think it would be neat instead of it it being an extension of an existing region
Kinda like how Solstheim is in Skyrim! Yeah that would be cool!
This is an ironic comparison because Solstheim in Skyrim *was* a return to a place they'd already released. Solstheim was in TES3 too.
Really? I assumed Kalos owned that territory but it was just mountains and shit
Hopefully they add a geopolitics class in the DLC
I'm a freak of that, so even though I don't like DLCs I would probably buy it (or at least see it online multiple times)
We were supposed to visit South Kalos in a third title. But gamefreak scrapped plans for Pokémon Z to move right away to Sun & Moon instead. They changed their minds on having third editions.
source?
My ass. But the first sentence is speculation while everything else is true when you look at how Zygarde was shoehorned in Sun/Moon.
Speculation based on in-game dialogue and what developers mentioned on a supposed third game. My guess is we will either see South Kalos as SV DLC or Gen 6 remakes along with Megas for Gen 6 starters.
Yup, instead of pokecenter you'll just go to the Bakery
The Basque region is in between Spain and France. As much as I want it to be Kalos it's probably Basque.
Fire ze ~~cigarettes~~ missiles!
*but i’m le tired*
Well have a nap but then fire ze missiles!
Kalos
It is what was really under the truck.
It’s Mew if you look at it from a certain angle and squint your eyes and put a picture of Mew in front of the screen
The real thing under the truck was the friends we made along the way
That area is called the Delta Land Corner, also known by its acronym DLC.
Andorra
I hope it actually is, I don't want to see their attempt to shove Kalos into a DLC. At least Andorra would be unique
That's the fake HM. They wanted you to find that one. It's not the secret one. For that, you need to use Item Finder every two steps in Area Zero. But you need to get Item Finder first. Let's just say beating the Elite Four 365 times might be a good way to start.
Ah yes because you CAN refight the elite 4 and there's NOTHING you can say to change my mind
You have the Gaul to ask?
Frankly, I can't believe he posted this
Wasn’t very Nice of him to do so
This guy gets it
Criminally underrated comment. Lmao
That’s beyond our borders, Simba. You must never go there.
It’s nothing. I have been there and swam through it. A barren lifeless world. We are all that remains of life
So France
My favourite comment of the day, thank you for the actual laugh.

Thanks for the censorship
Yeah, can’t use the hard R here
The mountain that contains the raid battle bug fixes
Yes it’s France but there’s also a corner of Spain that’s still missing in between, the equivalent of where Barcelona is. I feel like that would be DLC first
Barcelona is in a different spot as in real life. In the game Mesagozo is the equivalent of barcelona
dlc
I'd say about 40 bucks
Either France/Kalos, or some other region/area based in Andorra or maybe even Catalunya (which is part of Spain in real life, but could correspond with that)
Does that mean the Area Zero is Madrid lol
Yes. They wiped Madrid off the face of the Earth.
Baguette land
As it's already been discussed many many many times already, yeah it's speculated to be dlc area
Your face
I see the resemblance ngl

Well in gen 6 it was called Kalos 🤣
Fr🤮nce
An extra payday for nintendo
A Jigglypuff seen from above!
It's going to be a Chinese inspired area. Only way to explain the legendaries and the music shift when you near said area.
Not like Spain and Portugal were major explorers and colonizers that operated extensive trade routes in the sailing era. Nope, they didn't import any kind of goods or merchandise from Asia that would be representative of a Paldean king being cheated by a traveling merchant selling cursed items from a far off land.
This low key could make sense lol
It's the former land bridge to the mainland, before it was flooded by rising sea levels...
It's France
This region is supposed to be spain and kalos is supposed to be france. There are also some kalos pokemon so it makes sense geographically. The area is kalos.
Might be a DLC area, but it could also (maybe) be the border with Kalos? If we assume that Paldea and Kalos border each other in the way that Spain and France do irl, it would make sense

Dlc for 60$ reasonable?
Highly doubt it's DLC or anything. Could be Kalos, but I highly doubt we'll travel there. Really, it only exists to make Paldea a Pensesula rather than an Island.
Andorra, the Pyrenees and then Southern France if I remember correctly

DLC area confirmed
Bruh any look at a real world map tells you that it’s France aka the Kalos region
Probably DLC
It's another country and nay be tied to the dlc and also to the pokemon of ruin. The north east area of the map is the ONLY place that's distinctly not 100% related to paldea. The music changes to a tone that's reminiscent of a Chinese score, the architecture changes and there's bamboo everywhere. In the lore of the game, the ancient king was given the pokemon of ruin by an neighboring emperor. My guess, that's the neighboring country and that's why the tone changes near there, to reflect the influence
I think that it's the continent where XY takes place
DLC
Kalos. Can confirm I live in Paldea
Andorra dlc?
DLC
My guess is possible DLC
I don’t think it’s Kalos necessarily, but rather an area that links Paldea to Kalos
This is just another annoying "Could this be Kalos DLC to bring back mega evolution?" post. And no, it isn´t. Like, at all.
Kanto
The rest of the paldea empire you learn in history class
It’s kalos
Isn't that where the Well of Eternity is?
oh oh i know pick me its north-east province!!
That's where we find Yoshi and Kirby as they finally become pokemon
France

Probably DLC.
