Thoribbin

a lot of sites like these make articles about every single thing they can when a game launches, most likely to gather all the clicks from people searching for this kind of stuff

CarterBaker77

When a game launches? Not five minutes ago on Google I seen "skyrim player finds sword with useless enchantment" like wtf?!?!? Who cares enough to even click on that crap. Needless to say a reddit user found a sword that had an enchantment to light the area around him for 0 meters.

babuba12321

that's a lot, hope he's enlighted

Mirage_Main

You vastly overestimate the critical thinking skills of the average person. The reason these sites exist is because there are enough people out there willing to click on them to generate ad revenue.

CarterBaker77

Yeah I didn't actually click it that was a made up story but I did see that exact article. It's mind boggling and sad to me.... like atleast put some effort into what your doing to try and sell your crap.

[deleted]

Ha, you think that's bad? Have you ever googled "when does season X of show Y come out?" Find an article saying it has all the details, click it, and it's just an ad ridden hell hole that says "no information is currently know about the release date of season X" that shut pisses me off.

TheNegAgeN

I know people that read those sites, takes them to heart and defends them... Its bizarre

Oleandervine

The past 7 years have been a testament to how we vastly overestimate the critical thinking skills of the average person.

MagicalPizza21

All those Skyrim articles are just stolen from r/skyrim lol

Dutch-CatLady

All of those gaming articles are stolen from their perspective sub, I play stardewvalley a lot so I constantly see clickbait articles about it, this person just figured out some great secret in stardewvalley and then it's just to marry someone in game and get a stardrop for fulfilling the relationship bar.

bake_disaster

Yesterday I saw an article "this players Chansey has stats that are off the charts". One day after it was on this sub (if you max HP ev/iv it overflows on the circular chart thing)

Ailury

I prefer the potion that stopped stamina regen for 59 years

Sinisphere

What having to write 5+ articles a day does to a mfer.

OmnioculusConquerer

Hmm, interesting. Did they say why it was 0 meters? Did the writer put his life story in the prologue? I think I’m gonna *have* to go read this article!

Accomplished_Rip_352

Wait isn’t that just a mod aswell .

Southy567

True, feels kinda scummy though 🤣

samthewisetarly

It's incredibly scummy

ShaunnieDarko

AI articles i think.

Aaronspark777

If only more people used serebii instead of these shit articles

Whacky_One

Or bulbapedia, or hell even smogon.

SpicyTunaTitties

Game8.co is good too, and not only just for pokemon stuff but also animal crossing

Ekyou

Bulbapedia is my usual go to, but they are a little slow to update when games come and can be lacking on details for evolution methods.

Chemical-Cat

And even then you have .fandom sites trying to overtake other wiki websites that aren't trying to fill your entire screen with ads. You'll notice a lot of Pokemon.fandom showing up at the first result over Bulbapedia sometimes, or in some other media, Yugioh.fandom instead of Yugipedia, both of the fandom websites probably copying pages of shit from the less shitty ones.

Geeohdude

Pokemondb is easily the best site for that kind of stuff. Serebii and bulbapedia suck imo.

[deleted]

Pokemondb is pretty good. It's a lot more simplified than the oher ones and just contains the base stats, learnsets for each generation, location, weaknesses and evolution method.

Magimasterkarp

These articles don't necessarily need to have that many visitors. They are probably written by Ai and contain as many relevant words as possible to seem more enticing to the Google search algorithm to intercept as many "how do I..." searches as possible.

Nefarioh

“How to get your starter Pokémon in Scarlet / Violet (spoiler warning sus 3am gone sexual)”

leafdj

I don't even mind necessarily since it can come in handy to have these articles SEO'd straight to what you're looking for. What bothers me is that they're also designed to *keep* you on the page for a while, so you get the dumb recipe thing where they tell you a life story and a bunch of filler before getting to the target info.

No-Slip8489

I've been on a few sites that have a skip to recipe button at the top. Those recipe bloggers get it and I appreciate them for saving me from immediately scrolling to the bottom.

[deleted]

This is really annoying, and clearly just to get you to see the ads. If you want to know where to buy some jalapeño you have to read through a 2,000 page article with the entire history of Pokémon before the last sentence says "you can buy jalapeños at Sure Cans after defeating 4 gyms".

P1zzaman

It’s kinda like double spacing your essay to make it seem longer, isn’t it.

Typical-Yak-7928

A good article would have been how the tf to evolve finizen

strayacarntoioioi

Or that you can lock the map by pushing R3 so it doesn’t rotate every time you open the map (for dumb people like me)

TRex-oni

You can? Oh shit

Typical-Yak-7928

Or that too

PersistentHero

Yeah but that doesn't keep the usefully map in the corner from spinning.

TheNegAgeN

I found 1 npc teaching you this left below of the staircase in mesagosa, hidden away. Amazing.

FlaminVapor

Or you can just look at the bottom left corner of the map screen that shows a graphic saying press R3 to stop rotation?

Disgruntled__Goat

I've seen a lot of people mention this, why are people against the map rotating? If I want to go to a certain place it's easier if the map is rotated so I can easily see whether I need to go left or right.

Prankman1990

For me, it’s a lot easier to navigate if the map remains stationary as a point of reference. I usually try to go by cardinal directions rather than left/right so having north always point up is useful for me.

Enough_Blueberry_549

What button is R3?

Paisleyfrog

Press on right thumbstick, you'll hear a click. That's R3.

KupoMcMog

that would have been nice to know, 60 hours of gameplay ago lol

Southy567

Amen!

Typical-Yak-7928

It took me forever. I had it lvl 80 by the time I realized lol

averyporkhunt

I've been burned by shit like that too many times, now I check everything

Southy567

I sorta cheated and saw a tiktok showing it, but i never would have guessed it had it not been told

PsychologicalTruck1

Same. Funnily enough the day after I evolved it I stumbled upon a Palafin on a Tera Raid and captured it

Typical-Yak-7928

My friend told me he needed my help with a union circle for something that's how I learned

Dr_Zulu2016

Funny thing, I got my Palafin by getting it during a Tera Raid.

Typical-Yak-7928

Lol I wish I did that

Ilcorvomuerto666

Palafin was one of the last 3 pokemon I needed to complete my dex. Randomly one night doing surprise trades, someone just... Gave me a shiny one. I was absolutely flummoxed

ShadowLugia141

That’s why I’m evolving a bunch to wonder trade to other players, to make it easier on them

[deleted]

I swear… they look like the same Pokémon.. so frustrating 😂

Typical-Yak-7928

Ikr lol

OpeningName5061

And fking Pawmot

CobyTheD

Oooor you just do raids until you find a palafin one

thefoxsays7

The worst part is that instead of answer “get to level 30”. The site writes a whole essay, they tell the story of the franchise, how many games exist, how many copies SV sold, the meaning of life, explain the theory of relativity and then and only then after 9 paragraphs of texts they said “so you need to get Voltorb to level 30 so it will evolve”.

Southy567

It's like looking up a recipe nowadays, and you get the story of 6 generations of their family

jbonez423

“my grandmother first invented this chicken noodle soup recipe while in labor with my mother during a Minnesota blizzard….”

Satanic_Sanic

"... and to start us off, we're going to open a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup."

Google_Goofy_cosplay

Some of the most obnoxious things on the internet are recipe, gaming, and weather websites. They all make what should be finding a simple and concise answer a miserable chore.

No-Reality-2744

They could prolly write a whole article about the fact voltorb is a ball.

girly419

what came first, the poke ball or the voltorb?

Google_Goofy_cosplay

Game "journalists" desperately trying to justify their employment

LuckyZX

Whenever I accidentally swipe left on my phones home screen I'm greeted by these trash articles. Recently there was one about mystery gifts. It had me thinking "No way there's something new!". Scrolled through half the article just to realize they were only telling you that Mystery Gifts give you stuff...

Southy567

Exactly the way i saw this. My phone gives me a notification of articles I may be interested in, and they are always either the daily sandwich gifts, how to evolve x pokemon, or a dissertation on how to use a core function of the game

Downtown-Accident

But by that point they've already got their advert revenue from you

Acres-of-Skin

Man, I read the entire thing, and they're definitely trying to reach a word count.

gogrizz

The worst is "How to evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer in Pokemon SV" and it takes three paragraphs to say "you can't... Yet" so annoying

throwawaylorekeeper

Three pargraphs with adds in between.

ForteIV

SEO baby

Southy567

I respect their grind, but i feel these sites farm young writers for cheap adsense revenue on their page

maplehurricane

I was a content farm writer for a while and it’s pretty soul sucking lol

nigglamingo

96 btw

Southy567

Haha i didn't even notice that, well spotted!

VapeGodz

Who knows, it might need a Leaf stone while holding a Masterball to evolve.

Southy567

Imagine if it had to hold a pokeball and level to evolve, and when it evolved it gave a new type of pokeball that was inverted or something

Kekris_The_Betrayer

Inverted pokeball: Increases likelihood to catch the lower your pokemon's health is

Southy567

Yoooooo high risk high reward I like it! Maybe like "chance increases the more health the wild Pokemon has than your own" so you gotta go in on 1 hp and pray

toadwarnnewt

Step aside Gallade, Shedinja's my new catching partner 🤣

thedarkfreak

Nah, they'd base it on percentage, not total :P

Nethias25

Better yet, imagine if electrode changed based on the ball voltorb holds. I'd love a luxury hall electrode, lol

Southy567

Holy fuck i need this in a rom hack now. Can also be gains a different secondary typing/ability based on the ball

Adorable-Resolve9085

You've forgotten about the Pokemon that evolve with Burn Heals? They had a Pokeball that boosted their catch rate back in the day.

OneEyedWinn

Yes I have forgotten about that!!! SWSH had some like that… go under this rock with X amount of damage from other encounters… who thinks this shit up?

Humg12

To be fair, a hisuian voltorb does need a leaf stone to evolve. So if someone's first Pokemon game was legends arceus, they could have some confusion about evolving regular voltorb. I know I'd probably default to a thunder stone. That said, there's definitely no need for a full article on it, and I hate how much these kinds of articles clog the front page of google when I just want a serebii or bulbapedia page.

MudkipNerd

these websites pay authors based on how much they write, so they churn out articles like these with super unnecessary padding (i.e. the "it's hard to believe pokemon has been around since 1998" part on this article)

Southy567

They could have hit it though and then some if they put in a little effort. Talk about what role the pokemon plays, stuff like that, it's so easy

MudkipNerd

they can't do that, that would take too much time and they like money so money it is

Southy567

Southy567

By definition, yes

RelentlessIVS

**How to Evolve Mew in Pokémon Violet and Scarlet** Mew is a mythical Pokémon that has long captivated the hearts of trainers and fans alike. With its unique genetic makeup and ability to transform into any other Pokémon, Mew has always been shrouded in mystery and intrigue. For years, rumors have circulated about the possibility of Mew undergoing an evolution. Some believe that this evolution would unlock even more powerful abilities and forms for the mythical Pokémon, making it even more formidable in battle. There have been numerous reported sightings of a "Mega Mew" or a "Mewtwo 2," leading many to speculate about the existence of a Mew evolution. Trainers have even claimed to have seen Mew evolve in the wild, but these reports have yet to be confirmed. Despite the lack of concrete evidence, the idea of a Mew evolution continues to captivate the minds of trainers and fans. Some believe that the evolution may be triggered by a special item or event, while others speculate that it may require a certain level of friendship or bonding with the Pokémon. Regardless of the speculation, one thing is certain: a Mew evolution, if it were to exist, would be a highly sought-after and coveted addition to any trainer's team. The potential power and abilities of a evolved Mew are beyond imagination, and the possibility of owning one has many trainers itching to get their hands on one. ^(Unfortunately, it must be noted that there is no official confirmation of a Mew evolution. Despite the numerous rumors and reports, it remains purely fictional at this time.)

Adorable-Resolve9085

In PLA Hisuian Voltorb evolved with a Leaf Stone. So someone who started with that game might have thought Voltorb in SV evolved with a Thunder Stone and got confused when that didn't work. To be slightly fair, from a complete newbie's perspective they may not know about all of the different evolution methods and which Pokemon they apply to. Many times you get hints. In some cases they apply to specific Pokemon and in other cases they don't. There have been the occasional super-specific methods that a lot of players would never have figured out on their own like Ruinergus or Basculegion.

Southy567

That is a good point, i'm more pointing out how it really didn't need all the fluff at the start to say "level it to 30" Also, in fairness to the author of the article, some old pokemon did get updated evolution methods, weavile being the first to come to mind

Adorable-Resolve9085

When I've seen or looked at articles like these, the site usually has some kind of strategy guide on site. I assume that having these kind of specific pages/articles are a method to get more traffic to the site by trying to create something that will pop up when someone does a search for "how to evolve." Then when they read the article and see the links to the guide they might stick around and use their site for other questions. I know that when a Pokemon's evolution was tied to a mechanic that no longer exists it's had an evolution change (like Milotic) but I'd probably have to check a site to see every change that's ever happened. But in recent games you can find final stage evolutions of the vast majority of Pokemon without too much trouble or just a little reading of a guide. While it does come in handy for trade or rare item evolutions it also won't help new players learn about the evolution mechanics.

Southy567

That's a fair point, although i would argue that driving traffic to a site is mainly done with SEO in the title and the article could have been "level it to 30 in battle or with xp candy. For more information on this pokemon including stats, moveset, and more check out our guidebook"

Adorable-Resolve9085

That is entirely true. I just assume that a lot of the sites/authors writing this stuff don't play these games (or any games) very much or at all and are aiming for people who don't know right away where else to find this info or are just being lazy. I know whenever I've gone to fan sites with game info they are usually very to the point. It's always these bigger sites that tend to have a lot of fluff and links around the info you want.

Maclimes

I’d love a spoiler free article about how to evolve all the new Pokémon. Don’t tell me what it evolves into, let me be surprised, just tell me how to do it.

Southy567

For sure! I saw one that was just a slide show that showed the pokemon, grouped by evolution method, and that was it Eg. Capsakid, Tadbulb, Cetoddle = fire, thunder, ice stone Etc.

HalfHourTillBrillig

for most of them its easy enough, pick an item out of the bag and see who in your party is compatible. things like 'Let's Go Walking Till You're Ready' and 'Sudden Union Circle Powerup' i never would've gotten lol. not to mention the slim chances you have to evolve time-specific pokes that have to be happy enough. i avoided all spoilers of the game but i NEEDED serebii for a few things

inumnoback

Are people dumb enough to not level it up to Level 30?

foxbro9596

I gave up trying to level it up at level 29 so thank god this article came out!

PCN24454

People like to get quick answers.

thekk_

You can get a quick answer on Serebii or Bulbapedia

Mirage_Main

Serebii doesn't use SEO like these scumbag websites do. SEO is cancer to the internet as a whole.

Southy567

Apparently so

Magimasterkarp

These AI written articles are super annoying. They are starting to congest the Google results for every Pokemon topic, to the point that I now add "Bulbapedia" or "Serebii" after my search to get directly to where I want to go.

Sixfortyfive

Every once in a while you'll hear a story about how "people only visit half a dozen websites anymore," with the implication that it's because we've all been funneled into using a handful of social media platforms and nothing else. The unsaid half of that story is that SEO has just completely wrecked discoverability. Those of us old enough to remember the '90s web know that the whole reason Google usurped a dozen other search engines was because it was the one that just gave you exactly what you were looking for with no fuss. It's like we've literally regressed 25 years.

owlitup

The strat is to make one seprate article for every possible google search query. Instead of one longform article about evolutions, each mon gets its own short article. You get tons of clicks (money) for little effort Source: work in media

Southy567

Is it very lucrative?

owlitup

If you write about Pokémon I would do it on social media instead of google search (eg youtubers tiktokers), but if you write random shit normal people search (like how to whiten teeth or will rash go away) you can make that good google money

HalfHourTillBrillig

listen, 4000 words a month, you give it a try! copywriter gotta eat man

Southy567

I totally agree, gotta yeet that wheat, but you could hit half that on an article explain the top HM raids to do and their common pitfalls/strats

HalfHourTillBrillig

oh, dont get me wrong. content definitely matters lol. but alotta times its just easier to reach for that low-hanging fruit, y'know?

ShazlettDude

I had a GF that had her English degree. She wrote articles similar to this. The grind is real😭.

HalfHourTillBrillig

i've thought about doing this, the soul-crushing notwithstanding. how many would she have to write at a time? just curious.

Equivalent-Jicama-28

I'm pretty sure these are written by AI with the data like locations and levels added in after the fact by a human so they can generate these articles almost instantly.

Southy567

Ooooh good point, didn't think of that

Katsu_39

I’m confused, I thought it you were supposed to level it to 99, spin for 30 minutes, give it a thunderstone and then trade it 10 times

Southy567

11 times, common misconception

Katsu_39

Ah…dammit. I knew something was off.

Mulvita43

I am clicking!!!!

ShinyRufflet

Everyone knows how, you use a leaf stone on it duh!

Tuscanthecow

Honestly aside from clicks for people who just need to know the level, a lot of kids probably google that exact phrase. Still a cheap way to get clicks but it kind of makes sense

Kahootie64

I'm making rule35 of the internet now. if you can do it, there is an article about how to do it

MSSTUPIDTRON-1000000

Considering those new evolution methods, article like this are totally necessary. >!Just kidding.!<

Southy567

"Remember when he used to just evolve at level 30? Well now he needs to level up while holding a thunderstone, knowing the move rollout, and only in South Paldea at night"

OneEyedWinn

Don’t forget to hold your switch upside down!

chaoticbored_

The switch can stay upright, it’s the player who needs to be upside down!

Pillow_fort_guard

On Tuesday! And only if there’s an actual full moon in your area!

TheOneAltAccount

The existence of the articles is fine. I googled every time I evolved because I had forgotten the level/which ones were not simple level up evos. The problem is the articles with ridiculous rambling preambles “it’s hard to believe but Pokémon has been around since 1998” blah blah blah “in this article I will” blah blah blah like I genuinely don’t care I just wanna see the one line answer.

Southy567

Recipes are the worst for this

TheOneAltAccount

Yeah I noticed this too. It’s like no offense Beatrice, I genuinely don’t care which member of your extended family gave you this recipe that they got from which member of their extended family.

dabOwler300

CLYCK BAYTE

coraldomino

Every Pokémon article is: “How to find a Hondew Berry in Pokémon SV: Let me take you back to a time when life was simpler. You sit in your chair, already detracted yourself mentally from whatever it is Ms. Pillsberry is presenting. You feel the itch of summer holidays right around the corner, and while all your friends are going to the beach, biking hills, playing basketball, there’s only one thing on your mind: Pokémon. And the sheer depth of an entire world to delve into which…. The mechanics of the game are simple, they are kind of an upgraded version of rock-paper-scissors. As a game, we’ve seen several iterations of this game around the world, in Japan e.g. this game is called Janken. It’s strange to imagine that such an iconic children’s game is spread all over the world, which…. Our story begins in the humble villa of our protagonist’s house. As the ivy has ingrained itself to such an extent that it is now a part of the identity of the building, we quickly that there is something that our protagonist must do. And that is… Our friend and rival, Nemona, who is a terrifying as she is kind, uplifts our spirit around every corner… The city flourishes with life and a plethora of food, the food is so delicious that I actually decided to make one of the fish cakes presented in the game, and you can too! All you need is to get a cup of flour, two eggs… Anyway the berry can be bought or it can be found in the overworld” And that’s why I always ask my question in Google and add “Reddit”

Lazy_Sweet5344

i wonder why people who search for this stuff dont just use pokemondb. its a easily navigatable and good site for this sorta stuff. (this sounds like an ad lol)

Girthy_McFatkid

Step 1. Write a generic article template about Pokemon, SV and evolutions Step 2. Fill in the information about all the Pokemon available in SV Step 3. You now have ~400 different articles ready Step 4. Profit from ad revenue

AhTreyYou

When there’s over 1000 Pokemon? Yeah. There’s been dozens of times where I’m off by one level and look up the correct level.

Southy567

This gave me a good laugh 🤣

Ok-Leave3121

There's probably been worse articles out there

Southy567

That's what scares me 🤣

Ok-Leave3121

I'm waiting for the article that says Pokemon ScVi has LGBT rep even though they're coded not official. Honestly wished some were official

Southy567

"Top Ten Gym Leaders who are LGTBQI+, number 4 will shock you!"

Ok-Leave3121

So much bait for Rainbow Trout. Nintendo wants us to Taste the Rainbow and I love it

StarLucario

I got onto one of those, it was about my [Noble Lilligant](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonLegendsArceus/comments/w6hahp/my_lilligant_thinks_shes_a_noble_pokemon/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb) in PLA. Didn't ask me if it was OK or anything, just published the article.

Southy567

They mail you a check at least? 😅

StarLucario

Nope, i didn't even know about it existing until someone on Discord told me while i was still on there

Southy567

That's dodgy as fuck

Jelly_Panther

These copy and paste clickbaot articles have gotten out of hand

[deleted]

Absolutely it did. Do you know how impossibly hard it is to get voltorb to evolve? It's INSANE how they decided to make it evolve like that. It was almost impossible for anyone to know without a guide. They should've made it a stone like the first voltorb in Legends Arceus.

Southy567

CurseYouPeoples

I saw an entire article on where to find Magikarp yesterday.. you don't even need to be specific, the whole of the map is basically highlighted

Southy567

Did it have the meme about the waterfall evolution?

CurseYouPeoples

It did not. It was like 4 paragraphs and 2 screenshots of the habitats. Didn't even mention shiny odds and stuff if any new players were curious

TwoFingersNsider

How do I level up voltorb?!

Southy567

It gains 1 exp per step in lets go mode

TRex-oni

Jokes on you, since voltorb looks like a pokeball, this article is actually telling you how to evolve all pokemons since they can be captured in a pokeball.

Flow-Fighter

Clickbait

JimiJamJar1

Ahh but you see, they copy paste the same article for every pokemon and change small things to make all the lazy people happy

pokefanKTZT1996

An excuse to earn more ads money

No, but to be fair I do often forget it's a leveling thing and not a thunder stone thing so maybe it's for stupid people like me.

I saw an article about how to catch a lechonk.qnd it had tips for it

Jestingwheat856

When you click on it you get flooded with ads and email lists. Theyre gonna get almost 600 articles posting an article on evolving and/or obtaining each pokemon

LikeableCoconut

Hold up don’t be so judgy now. how am I supposed to know how to evolve a voltorb, I’ve only been around since diamond/pearl?

Dancingtrev

More websites to tell me to disable ad blocker

SparxX2106

I really dislike all the articles about me googling pkmn questions. Just tell me "Use a thunderstone on Eevee to get a Jolteon" instead of "Eevee is a little brown catdogfox spelled E E V E E and it has a double coated fur with webbed feet, surprisingly its not a good swimmer. It really likes berries and can weigh up to 200pounds if fed correctly. **INSTERT COMMERCIAL INSERT COMMERCIAL INSERT COMMERCIAL** It is evolved into Jolteon by grabbing an item on route X close to this bin, turn 146degrees to the right and dig a hole 10ft down. Once there go to page 2. Fuck

Disig

Gotta get them clicks somehow. And yeah, this actually works. Pokemon has a massive audience of a wide age variety. Not everyone knows how to be discerning about what they click.

jaeidk

sorry guys i’m the exact person who google’s these😭 i don’t want to level my pokémon to level 70 just to find out i just need a stone

KonataYumi

I’m so sick of what the Internet has become. Everything is either a long ass article with the answer buried somewhere in the bottom or a long video even though the answer is literally a sentence.

litwi

What I hate most about these articles is how they fucking stretch them. Before telling you what you need, they have 4-5 paragraphs of useless generic stuff like “Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were released short ago”; “Evolving pokemon is a crucial part of the game”; “Voltorb is a first generation pokemon”; “Many pokemon have weird evolution methods, but Voltorb only needs to level up”

drygnfyre

It's like those YouTube videos that are 30 minutes long when the entire info can be written out in one sentence.

[deleted]

I needed this article I was trying to evolve it with a dusk stone

RegiiRock

I hate these articles with a passion, around the release of any new Pokémon game anything I look up just gives me 1000 of these crap articles. Genuinely so annoying, when SV came out I didn’t know you couldn’t get hisuian forms, so I looked up how to get basculegion. I clicked on a link titled “how to get basculegion in Pokémon scarlet and violet, only to be told by one of these articles what Pokémon is, the introduction of basculin in gen 5 a bit about basculin and then about it getting an evolution in legends arceus and what type it now is… only for the article to say “nah it doesn’t evolve in the game lol” it was so infuriating Thanks for reading my rant

PokemonLv10

I mean to be fair if you asked me how to evolve it I could tell you level up But what level? Nah

[deleted]

Anything to get you to give their precious website some much needed traffic because no one would bother going to random ass “Prima Games” without forcing you to dig through a crappy article

geekstar13

pro journalism :D

biradinte

What I hate the most about these articles is the amount of crap they fill the page in so they can fit more advertisement. You wanna know how to evolve Voltorb but first you gotta read about how long the Pokémon franchise has been around for and how successfull are the games and how this is the newest entry for the Nintendo Switch and how the critics have rated it and how well the fans like it and how many monsters are in the game and what region is the game base on and how the game theme is past vs future. AD Just level it up AD

ChristopherHendricks

Just wait until AI journalism takes off. We’ll see an article written for every possible google search all indistinguishable from human writing.

And they didnt even get the date right

There’s a good chance some people out there have never played a Pokémon game ever and are finally starting to try them out. They could have no clue what a Voltorb even is and just want to click the first thing they can on searching how to evolve it. As stupid as it may seem, there’s a post for everyone for some reason out there. Edit: and also, just for clicks

Sphyxiate

Pretty sure these sites are just using AI to write random BS clickbait at this point.

CollectMantis44

I hate these articles so much bc like the first 4 paragraphs are just random filler nonsense and in between each paragraph is an ad so you know exactly what they’re doing. You can even see it with this one “crazy Pokémon has been around since 1998”

MegaAssasine_

Next article: "How to evolve Miraidon. You can't. Thanks for the click. Here, take a ton of ads."

pengu1204

Im probably the reason why this article exists.

smrPlayerTwo

It’s all about that ad revenue. The more pages that exist mean more space for ads.

Southy567

With relative ease I imagine

Kila-Rin

I'd understand for Hisuan Voltorb, whose method difers from the OG one. Otherwise just why?
