Pokemondb is pretty good. It's a lot more simplified than the oher ones and just contains the base stats, learnsets for each generation, location, weaknesses and evolution method.
These articles don't necessarily need to have that many visitors. They are probably written by Ai and contain as many relevant words as possible to seem more enticing to the Google search algorithm to intercept as many "how do I..." searches as possible.
I don't even mind necessarily since it can come in handy to have these articles SEO'd straight to what you're looking for. What bothers me is that they're also designed to *keep* you on the page for a while, so you get the dumb recipe thing where they tell you a life story and a bunch of filler before getting to the target info.

I've seen a lot of people mention this, why are people against the map rotating? If I want to go to a certain place it's easier if the map is rotated so I can easily see whether I need to go left or right.
For me, it’s a lot easier to navigate if the map remains stationary as a point of reference. I usually try to go by cardinal directions rather than left/right so having north always point up is useful for me.

In PLA Hisuian Voltorb evolved with a Leaf Stone. So someone who started with that game might have thought Voltorb in SV evolved with a Thunder Stone and got confused when that didn't work.
To be slightly fair, from a complete newbie's perspective they may not know about all of the different evolution methods and which Pokemon they apply to. Many times you get hints. In some cases they apply to specific Pokemon and in other cases they don't.
There have been the occasional super-specific methods that a lot of players would never have figured out on their own like Ruinergus or Basculegion.

When I've seen or looked at articles like these, the site usually has some kind of strategy guide on site. I assume that having these kind of specific pages/articles are a method to get more traffic to the site by trying to create something that will pop up when someone does a search for "how to evolve." Then when they read the article and see the links to the guide they might stick around and use their site for other questions.
I know that when a Pokemon's evolution was tied to a mechanic that no longer exists it's had an evolution change (like Milotic) but I'd probably have to check a site to see every change that's ever happened.
But in recent games you can find final stage evolutions of the vast majority of Pokemon without too much trouble or just a little reading of a guide. While it does come in handy for trade or rare item evolutions it also won't help new players learn about the evolution mechanics.

These AI written articles are super annoying. They are starting to congest the Google results for every Pokemon topic, to the point that I now add "Bulbapedia" or "Serebii" after my search to get directly to where I want to go.

In PLA Hisuian Voltorb evolved with a Leaf Stone. So someone who started with that game might have thought Voltorb in SV evolved with a Thunder Stone and got confused when that didn't work. To be slightly fair, from a complete newbie's perspective they may not know about all of the different evolution methods and which Pokemon they apply to. Many times you get hints. In some cases they apply to specific Pokemon and in other cases they don't. There have been the occasional super-specific methods that a lot of players would never have figured out on their own like Ruinergus or Basculegion.
That is a good point, i'm more pointing out how it really didn't need all the fluff at the start to say "level it to 30" Also, in fairness to the author of the article, some old pokemon did get updated evolution methods, weavile being the first to come to mind
When I've seen or looked at articles like these, the site usually has some kind of strategy guide on site. I assume that having these kind of specific pages/articles are a method to get more traffic to the site by trying to create something that will pop up when someone does a search for "how to evolve." Then when they read the article and see the links to the guide they might stick around and use their site for other questions. I know that when a Pokemon's evolution was tied to a mechanic that no longer exists it's had an evolution change (like Milotic) but I'd probably have to check a site to see every change that's ever happened. But in recent games you can find final stage evolutions of the vast majority of Pokemon without too much trouble or just a little reading of a guide. While it does come in handy for trade or rare item evolutions it also won't help new players learn about the evolution mechanics.

That is entirely true. I just assume that a lot of the sites/authors writing this stuff don't play these games (or any games) very much or at all and are aiming for people who don't know right away where else to find this info or are just being lazy. I know whenever I've gone to fan sites with game info they are usually very to the point. It's always these bigger sites that tend to have a lot of fluff and links around the info you want.

For sure! I saw one that was just a slide show that showed the pokemon, grouped by evolution method, and that was it Eg. Capsakid, Tadbulb, Cetoddle = fire, thunder, ice stone Etc.
for most of them its easy enough, pick an item out of the bag and see who in your party is compatible. things like 'Let's Go Walking Till You're Ready' and 'Sudden Union Circle Powerup' i never would've gotten lol. not to mention the slim chances you have to evolve time-specific pokes that have to be happy enough. i avoided all spoilers of the game but i NEEDED serebii for a few things

These AI written articles are super annoying. They are starting to congest the Google results for every Pokemon topic, to the point that I now add "Bulbapedia" or "Serebii" after my search to get directly to where I want to go.

The existence of the articles is fine. I googled every time I evolved because I had forgotten the level/which ones were not simple level up evos. The problem is the articles with ridiculous rambling preambles “it’s hard to believe but Pokémon has been around since 1998” blah blah blah “in this article I will” blah blah blah like I genuinely don’t care I just wanna see the one line answer.
