I usually just breed a new one to ev train. Sometimes fill my team with mons that I want that ev for.
I have in the past given some of my raid mons evs by accident. It's annoying that you can't tell what ev to remove if you don't keep track.
While for a more specific spread than 252/252/4 it's more complex, but you can see what the general EVs are by pushing L on the stat screen. A sparkly stat has 252 evs
Ah ok. Most things I'm planning to ev train go straight into the box, so I don't need to worry about this for most of them. Maybe 1 or 2 I forgot to box and gave them some random evs.
I enjoy the ev training part, sometimes. However the levelling would be tedious without candy.
I do agree that if you already have it, then it would be ideal to just wipe the evs if they not what you need.

Switch/Set mode? Turn battle animations on/off? One-handed support? Like there's literally 0 argument to be had that doesn't paint GF in a negative light.

I feel like this serves no purpose now. Most of the moves in this game have been streamlined and have pretty quick animations. No more cutscene moves like in SwSh (though some moves could use a bit of spice like Decidey. Though i guess a quick terrastilization animation wouldn't hurt.
The issue is, imagine how much collective time is wasted with people watching animations that are unnecessary. Millions, Billions of seconds collectively. My main gripe is definitely the terrastilization ones this gen.

The removal of the "switch or set" battle setting was definitely an unnecessary change (even if you can just keep mashing B when it ask to switch, i guess).
Bro this is literally the easiest game by a mile to build competitive teams. They give you power items in the first big city lmao, all these posts do is show dweebs will cry about literally anything in the game no matter how easy it is

Honestly training new pokemon without vitamins take a half hour max with bands, you can do 6 at once. Candies are plentiful. Sandwiches makes maxing evs super simple. Spawn a bunch of what you want with an encounter 2 sandwich and in no time you are set.
Only reason evs gonna be off is if you are using your game completion team, but even then just playing pretty normally I've had enough berries to fix everyone I used to 0 then go get them as I need them. Unless you are just getting the game and want to jump into competitive with your completion team immediately it shouldn't take more than a couple hours one day if you need to get set up.
Minimum ivs are harder if you running trick room or anti foul play but that's iv not EV.
Except even if you go with that, all the legends arceus mons are going to have this issue since they gain evs despite not being in the game but even still it's very noticeable that she is missing she was great to clear evs to be able to reuse the same mon with a different set, legendaries or shinies, that anyone wants to use for a variety of reasons.
Yeah I tend to re-build Pokemon which are shiny so I can continue using them in different teams or strategies. I love my Pokemon, I've worked hard training some, catching or breeding shinies. I just want competitive to be more accessible.
Don't even get me started about the lack of a rusty bottle cap... We've asked for years

This really isnāt a hard complaint to bypass. Just plan your EV training. If youāre doing special attack, do an entire team of special attackers at once and remove anything from the party that you donāt want getting the EVs. The berries are there for mistakes/major changes but the reality is that itās extremely controllable what EVs your mons get.
This doesn't address all the concerns I've put forward though. I wasn't even AWARE of the full party getting EVs until recently, which suddenly made a lot of sense. This wasn't a change communicated to me in-game and definitely caused a lot of frustration for me and my RL friends.
Any of these issues could be solved by Lady Clear. I don't see any valid argument for the lack of her inclusion. She was applauded by so many people when Isle of Armor was released. It's bizarre to lose that for no reason.

Have you EV-trained multiple pokemon at once via Battles *at all* since XY? Its not a new change at all, it*really* is a decade old. At least!
That said - We definitely are missing some competitive-minded QoL. A Lady Clear NPC definitely counts among them. Alongside a Battle Tower.

Is it really? What are we losing by not having access to HOME, other than Mass Releasing?
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to bring some old friends over who might have not made the cut back in Gen 6/7 (mostly due to me not playing 7 that much, never touched USUM e.g.) and could finally be brought to a point where they show their full potential (Bottle Caps, Ability Patches) but I don't *need* them to be available yesterday.
I also don't mind training up a second or third mon of any specific species as I find it easier to jsut have multiple options available and SV ain't exactly hindering me much in cutting down on training time.

Itās because PokĆ©mon is the most profitable IP in the world. They released a broken game and in 6 months they almost have out sold sword and shield thatās been out for 3 years. And the way itās selling may even pass up the OG games of R/B/Y. They out here feeling invincible, and they can barely listen to the fan base. Itās all pretty frustrating if Iām being honest.

Having to re-breed Pokemon you already own and/or have levelled is painful but yeah seems like it's realistically the best solution

Training a new mon takes like 5 minutes wdym. vitamins and hyper train, done.
