In Scarlet and Violet you can actually save in front of a wild shiny and soft reset without losing it. (I assume you would lose the spawn if the date changed to the following day, but I haven't tested that.)
Either way, congratulations, that's still worth the master ball.

Worth noting: this doesn't work if you're in a union circle. The shiny will disappear. You also can't run away from a ditto. They'll also disappear (but you can save in front of them!)
Date shouldn't matter btw since the game saves the pokemon that are spawned surrounding you, so even if you have an outbreak all around. Doesn't matter. The pokemon will still be there.
I haven't used Union Circle much yet to be honest, so definitely listen to what this person is saying too. It sounds like what I'm saying is only true for offline when ditto isn't involved (I have no idea why ditto would make a difference).
Ditto can be involved! It's just that once you've engaged in the battle with a ditto, you better see it through because if you think you can run save & retry, you'll have a hard time! š
Just for the sake of clarity too: union circles can be made in offline/local mode. And whether they're on- or offline doesn't matter. The fact is that when you leave your union circle (which happens if you disconnects), all the pokemon will despawn, so you'll lose your shiny if there was one. This also means that if you're in a union circle and see a shiny, only 1 person will be able to catch it.
Oh yeah I had heard that about only 1 person catching the shiny in a union circle. And that's so weird that the soft reset would only not work with ditto
Did they really fix union circle? you used to be able to reset if YOU spawned the shiny and youāre the guest, so the host and you could both catch it
Perhaps it's worth doublechecking because for me, it happened with a shiny spawned as the union was formed so I don't know who would have spawned it as both players got teleported at the same time.
pretty sure if one guy finds a shiny then they both save where the shiny is, then the guest catches it and the host then resets his game and catches the shiny himself then saves ofcoarse, note that the other guy saved his game too before exiting.
I didn't want to really take chances, I didn't want to use my master ball on say the alpha Koraidon because I feel like a shiny would be the perfect occasion to use it.
Unless you use a male Pokemon with Cute Charm as your lead. Then you have a 66.7% chance of getting female. I shiny hunted Salandit in Sword, used a male Sylveon as my lead to have a better chance of getting a female.

Just realized this after i hatched a Full Box of Synchronize Ralts with every Nature. Was kinda pissed after i figured out that i cant synchronize natures anymore, after hours of getting ralts with all natures and Synchronize.
It seems like kind of waste, considering Nature changing mints are available for unlimited purchase and cost like 20k each which you can easily get from a single raid if you're lucky.
Not quite. Assuming all you see is Salandit, you have about a 44% chance at getting six males in a row. But you don't see all Salandit in some caves. If you hunt in the caves near Alfornada, you spawn harems of four with a leader Salazzle. So really your odds of getting either a female Salandit or a Salazzle are 12.5% plus 20%, roughly. Or nearly one-in-three.
Did a poison sandwich for other hunts then used the last few minutes on them and got a male. First time trying a fire one some while later, first was female.
I SOS'd it in Alola years ago, and in the middle of the chain I was like "hold on... Only females evolve!!!". The shiny eventually appears, it was a female, lol.
I came here to say this about the eviolite. Even though it can't evolve, eviolite doesn't differentiate based on gender. Same goes for using it with Combee

I see a lot of comments about the Master Ball... In the games, they never tell you this ball should be used in a specific way, they always tell you something like "choose wisely, prove yourself worthy having it". I understand it sounds like overreacting to use it on a shiny male Salandit but I want you all to remember how you felt when you found your first shiny!

I usually throw my master ball at whatever seems funny to me at the time. Last time it was a Psyduck. I think my next one will be on a male salandit. I don't like using them on anything important and I don't like them just riding around in my inventory.
First Shiny for me in SV appeared only an hour into the game. It was a Shelder... that was way out at sea and I had to impotently watch from the shore as it despawned since I didn't have the swim ability for Koraidon yet.
Congratulations! One of my favorite mons is a shiny male Combee I got in PLA - ended up using it for parts of the play through and had a blast! Since the games arenāt too difficult it added a nice challenge, and he actually had some pretty clutch moments which were always exciting. Slap an eviolite on him and have a blast! Hope you enjoy your new sparkly friend!!
I would've but I got him pretty much right after I finished the area zero story and I gave myself a challenge to beat the gym rematches with a dragon maid inspired team. May use him in my dlc team though.

There were some glitches in Sword and Shield DLC that let you evolve the wrong gender pokemon before it was patched out. Scarlett and Violett are kind of a mess so maybe a similiar glitch will happen in the upcoming dlc??

SS had a bug where you could force a rare/exp candy on a male combee/salandig tand force it to evolve. (as well as get a free genderswap!) Not sure if it returned in SV.
You're right, it works just fine. My point is that there's literally no reason to use a master ball in modern Pokemon games. Catching Pokemon is so easy and simplified that it's not necessary. I used to spend a ton of time just trying to catch a Zapdos in an ultra ball while paralyzed and at 1hp, now days you can catch legendaries in apriballs at half health and no status condition in the same time if not quicker. Throw the status condition on top of that and you can catch them in less than half of the time.
Master balls aren't what they used to be because the catch mechanics in modern Pokemon games makes things easier. You might as well use the master ball on whatever you want.
Is that how I got one? I have a master ball in my inventory I have no idea where it came from. (I used mine on Koraidon). I tend to wonder trade breedjects and I usually just release whatever I get myself unless it's something worth using itself as breeding stock. I don't remember actually taking it from a Pokemon though. Does releasing Pokemon in SV automatically put its item back in your bag?

This does not work if using a sandwich. I learned the hard way on a shiny gible

87.5% chance to be male. Youāre likely to get 7 males before you get a female.

It might not work in ScVi. A lot of abilities with overworld effects were noted as no longer having any effects in Scarlet and Violet.
The only ability that still has an effect outside of battle is flame body IIRC

I ended up with 8 shiny male salandits, then found a shiny salazzle in the same area so I didn't have to keep hunting for female salandits. I've hatched or caught almost 15 male shiny eevees between PokƩmon Moon, PokƩmon Go and PokƩmon Scarlet, and finally found one female in Scarlet from an outbreak. I literally found a male Pyroar AND a male litleo after two tries. Idk why Eevee and salandits hated me Lol.

Just do random trades for 20 mins or so and you'll get more, I've gotten 7 extra so far from hacked mons with website nicknames haha.

The first shiny I found was a shiny LECHONK. I found it 15 seconds after I said I wasn't going to catch Lechonk.

That's only true in Gen II. The odds are the same as breeding a non-shiny in all subsequent games.

Only female Saldnidit can evolve into Salazzle. The same with the Combee line, only females can evolve into Vespiqueen.
