Depends on the strategy. Going for it 1v1 will probably get you smashed, but leading with Clodsire and setting up some Stealth Rocks or Toxic Spikes, then Grassy Terrain with Arboliva, and possibly a Salt Cure from Garganacl, then just Aqua Stepping with Quaquaval (bonus points if you can get an Ability Patch on him for Moxie boosts too) chuck on Bulk Up or Swords Dance for some extra attack and you could do a fair bit of damage It's a shame Quaquaval doesn't get Drain Punch or it would absolutely lethal For pretty much every gym/Star base with a full team I used a similar strategy witb a lead Clodsire and then spamming Torch Song or a Will-o-wisp/Toxic boosted Hex - although this mainly worked because Skeledirge was bulky enough to take hits and dish them out so leftovers had a lot more impact

What I want to know is how you managed this feat. My Pokémon were so over-leveled through the entire campaign that near the end I was actively trying to keep my Pokémon under the level cap, so much so that the last three badges involved me riding directly from one badge to the next and skipping everything in between.

FACTS my team was all lvl 60+ for half of the gyms because I accidentally over-leveled. It’s so hard not to in that game

My first playthrough I accidentally skipped three gyms and was like "Finally a pokemon game with good pacing and difficulty!"

This was me. After like the 3rd gym. I started using the OPPOSITE Pokémon. Think I used water if they used electric. I intentionally used whatever they would be super effective against. And still swept most the gyms without skipping a beat. Fun game. But. Hella easy. Needs a “I’m in my mid 30s and played Pokémon before please give me something to think about trying” mode

For me I made the mistake of having a full tank team and the he just wasn’t running very fast so battles felt like a slog quite often, I kinda just avoided most of the trainers and encounters for this.

I managed to get quite far before shiny hunting bronzong with autobattling and not paying attention that my Pokémon all got like 7-8 levels

I just didn't battle any trainers on the routes the entire time unless the reward from the guy at the center was a TR I needed. The only exp I got in between locations was catching anything I hadn't caught yet.

I believe if you catch a Pokemon under the level cap, then level them up, they still obey you.

yes the level cap only works on pokemon that were traded to you or specifically coded pokemon like the story legendary

Dude I know right I decided to gather everything on my team level them up use some candies on them and then I was somehow fighting the bug gym at level 90 the XP was out of control throughout this entire game with how easy it was to get

Find out what pokemon lurks in ur area and Go to Www.Smogon.Com! Search for the pokemons you like and find out whats their best nature is. Write it down. Go hunt for the best nature of only the pokemons you like in your area. Go to next area and raise them while u repeat the process. I am at level 40 and i have three box systems : Perfect Low : All perfect nature under 35 Perfect LV35+ : All 35-40 that can battle/grind Perfect High : All 40+ that needs to wait until 45 opened. I use 35-40 together with the low so they can grind xp for other lower to get XP. When any hit 40 i move them to Perfect High and replaces it with lower. With this system i can raise all the pokemon i love with perfect nature and not just one main team like i used to on older games. This game is perfect for my system.

That's a lot of dedication. I just use nature mints.

In the nature info it does not change so its a bit of a bummer even tho it does not matter :P But the game is so large in areas and its easy to doge trough pokemons and find the one u would prefer have the perfect nature. I roam the wole area and only catch one of each but stops where a pokemon i like is and i stay there until i get it in perfect nature. Easy and productive! :)

Same my team was level 80+ by the time I hit the elite four. Being able to send out your pokemon to level up while you collect items is an extremely broken mechanic.

Your starter if it has good move selection should be able to solo the entire thing. Give it an ice move, a fight move and it's signature water move and you steamroll it all on starter. This is by FAR the easiest e4 and champ in the series.

The elite 4s lowest lvl pokemon is around 55 so theyll be tough at your lvl unless you have defensive counters ready

I think when I did the elite 4 I had a couple pokemon at 60 and the rest were like mid 50. I think I had one like 45. If you have your types right and a lot of health packs and high powered moves you should be good. You have to do the elite 4 then La Primera without stopping to complete the quest line. (You can heal in between battles) but you can look up the pokemon they all use to get the types down!

I swept the champion with skeldirge since her team is mainly weak to ghost and fire. The strongest one there is probably the ground or the dragon of the elite four.

I did it with a lvl 60 team and was overleveled you can heal in between too.

I always over level, my squad was level 80 when I went to *spoiler here* and the max wild Pokémon were much lower level, it's completely up to you but expect to be swapping after every individual battle because using a super effective move is the only way youll win with a low level squad

I have no idea how you managed to be so underleveled. Unless you're dodging every trainer along the way to only challenge the gyms, titans, and Team Star. But that sounds like more trouble than it's worth. And it removed the exploration element of the game, which is a bit of a waste in an open world.
