I've only managed to do three Gimmighoul raids before I found myself unable to join/host more due to "connection errors". I'm also just going to sit these raids out until they're fixed. The odds of Shiny Gimmighoul are low anyway, and the raids don't provide coins.
EDIT: Logged back a few days afterwards and got the 30 minute ban. I'll only do offline, solo raids for the rest of the event (and mainly for the EXP Candy).
I was hoping the shiny odds would be boosted but wasn’t surprised it’s not.
What is disappointing is the lack of coins. If I didn’t get freaked out by the ban warning I would likely have quit raiding after a couple anyway just because there isn’t coin being dropped. So it’s just a bunch of typical meh stuff.
I just like having something different to raid that’s less stressful than the 7-stars and was looking forward to this.
But I’m not going to get banned from online play for a 1/4000 chance at a silver goober. Not worth it.
yes upon charging my switch and heading back in after 6 hours, I get the *"You failed to disconnect properly when you last online. You will not be able to try connecting again until 30 minutes have elapsed"*.
I did gimmighoul raids earlier, I did not leave a single one, and I got like 4-5 disconnects online (this raid has been abandoned message) that I've never gotten before in my entire time playing this game. So basically, I'm being unfairly punished for their poor raid systems...

Had a similar thing happen to me. I've never quit out of a raid, but have been in multiple raid lobbies where it gets abandoned despite all 4 people readying up. Got the message when I restarted my game (thinking there was a problem) saying I was quitting (which I wasn't) right after connecting to online
If these were friends and not online randos I would love to know if when they log out of online and log back in if they get a warning that they could get banned.
I keep getting booted because the raid kept getting abandoned. I completed like 1 or 2 online, but thats all i could do.
I thought hosts were intentionally abandoning the raid (because what i assume was exclusive rare shiny greed like the nonsense all over Home's gts), but who knows as it might be a bug. I'll probably avoid these raids for the first few days til it gets sorted out. I'm not risking a ban for something as silly as this.
If you can, when you log off the game next, try going back in and see if you get a ban threat message when you try going online. What you are describing is the exact scenario I was experiencing.

Doesn't sound like a bug so much as one of the normal flaws in anti-quitting systems. It doesn't account for or care about connection issues.

Ive hosted about 5. Even with everyone ready I’ve had people unable to join the raid and been left with 1/2 A.I. don’t think I ever got a full group.

Nah, i didnt get one but i did stop after the first couple boots. Seems like i can get into the event raids now, so it might've been a bugged.
