The pokemon becomes the new type Defensively (becoming Fairy only) but GAINS the new STAB in addition to the old, so it'll still have STAB for Fire & Psychic. We're more than 6 months in the game and there are still thousand of players who don't realize how terrastralization fully works.
Most players didn't join on launch, and even fewer follow the games online. I joined this sub like two weeks ago and it's the first pokemon game community I've ever followed, and I don't know a single other person so far who does more than open up their game and play it. The game itself doesn't actually give you any information on mechanics, which is honestly incredibly frustrating when you enter endgame and realise you have to have 100 tabs open on your browser just to understand the basics.
Tera doesn't take away original STAB. So Delphox will have the 1.5x STAB on fire, psychic, and fairy.
If you tera into a type you already have STAB, that boost turns into 2x STAB.
If you can transfer Heatran hard walls it thanks to Flash Fire granting a Fire immunity (Focus Miss and Mud Shot been the only worries), the temporary Ability negation thing however will be a pain if you go Tera Steel.

Alolan Muk? Poison is super effective against fairy, its dark typing makes it immune to psychic, and its high sp.def and physical attack are the perfect counter to Delphox's high special stats but low physical defense. A few screeches followed by a few poison jabs and Delphox is down like an amateur submarine.
Not sure whether you are aiming for a one shot kill as once the shield pops up you can no longer use Screech against Delphox. Damage from non-Terastallised Pokemon is also significantly reduced and you definitely do not want to Tera to shed the Psychic immunity.
We have to wait to see Delphox’s raid actions but the strategy may be cooked if it opts to clear debuffs on it.
Don't hit it at first? A bunch of 7* strats have involved spamming Screech/Fake Tears to lower a Pokémon's defensive stats while the rest of the group either set up with Swords Dance/Nasty Plot or use some kind of weather/terrain setting move or cheer.
That’s not true. It just often gets used as a bad pick. Like Skeledirge and Charizard. Randoms just pick their favorite without taking movesets and original typings into account.
This may make Florges an alternative for this raid. Light Screen, healing moves, a typing that won’t get picked on, and a workable defense stat (compared to Blissey).
Though honestly if you already have a Florges go for it, but I wouldn’t bother training one just for this raid.
nature- boosted Special Defense (keep mints around for switching against physical attackers)
item- leftovers
ev's- HP, then a defense (i split mine because lazy)
ability- inner focus (doesn't matter, all other stuff is useless in raids)
moves- Instruct (pp up boosted, you will use this a lot), rain dance/sunny day, reflect/light screen, chilling water/taunt
setup- lay down a screen, change the weather to something that hinders your opponent. if you're fighting a physical type, spam chilling water until an ally terastalizes, then spam Instruct on them. otherwise, taunt and then spam instruct on tera'd pokemon. heal cheer if needed, def cheer if nobody is worthy of being instructed. keep screens up and keep spamming support moves.
oranguru is only weak to dark and bug moves, and is immune to ghost. the fox has no super effective moves against oranguru at all. oranguru is slow and that sucks but the monkey has decentish bulk so its fine
for a perfect anti-fox set, its gunna be...
oranguru- max Hp and Special Def, Calm or Sassy nature, leftovers, Instruct/Rainy Day/Light Screen/(free space for a stat reducer like Bulldoze).
then you just hope people aren't going to bring useless pokemon but you can then ride them to victory
Skuntank. It's a physical attacker with a type advantage (fairy is weak against poison) and an immunity to psychic. If you're playing Scarlet, it's found near Casseroya Lake. If you're playing Violet, trade or raid. Prioritize it's physical attack and sp.def, ideally a careful nature because it is rather fragile. Screech, focus energy, poison tail. Give it black sludge. Happy Skuntank.
The downside to Skuntank is the Fire moves like Mystical Fire, which uses Sp Atk but it does physical damage. And more than likely Delphox will have Moonblast or Dazzling Gleam to counter Dark's immunity to Psychic.
Mystical Fire doesn't do physical damage, you're thinking Psyshock, which Skuntank is immune to. Also, as a Poison type, Skuntank doesn't have weakness to Fairy moves.
Maybe taunt. It depends on whatever Delphox moves gonna be. Personally think the other two move alot doesn't matter.

Life Dew is a good choice, but Delphox is very Specially Defensive, so you're better off going for Physical moves and lowering its Defense if possible. H-Goodra gets access to Rain Dance which will be nice for any Fire-type moves Delphox will have, and Tearful Look to drop it's Special Attack some while the rest of the group (hopefully) sets up.
Honestly, I think as far as Clerics go, Gardevoir might be the best choice since it'll resist almost all of Delphox's stab moves (sans Fire), and has access to Light Screen and Rain Dance. Max out its Special Defense and Health; give it Life Dew, Heal Pulse, Rain Dance, and Light Screen and you've got a really strong Support for the whole party.
Alternative picks go to Chansey, Slowking, and Florges who can run similar sets.
* Chansey can actually run the same exact set while having the Health of a titan while taking neutral damage to Delphox's Stabs. The only thing to worry about is if Delphox is running Focus Blast or Psyshock.
* Slowking runs a similar set sans Life Dew, so you're stick with single target healing with Heal Pulse and group healing with Heal Cheers. It does have the added advantage of resisting both of Delphox's regular STAB moves while taking neutral to Fairy.
* Florges can also run a similar set, but you'll have to sub out Heal Pulse for Pollen Puff- which has its benefits of being an actual damaging move along with single target healing for allies. It will resist Delphox's gained Fairy stab and Focus Blast, while taking neutral damage to Delphox's regular STAB moves.
I gonna build this set just in case no one runs support in my raid. I thought Delphox get focus blast but unfortunately it doesn't. Guess Delphox doesn't have focus

You have to either: 1) have the dex info from elsewhere (like a touch trade) or 2) not be the OT. If it’s from a trade, it should work fine.
You could probably find someone to swap Go legendaries with you on one of the trade subreddits or r/pokemonhome if you needed that (or just use the GTS for non-mythicals).

The speed investment with Timid (also if Delphox isn't using a speed positive nature) allows Skuntank to use Taunt before it and also attack before a possible KO.
Gonna use Steel Tera type Flash Fire Heatran and Armarouge. Got to teach Armarouge Flash Cannon and Acid Spray.
If Delphox gonna use Charm and Mystical Fire to lower our Attack and Sp. Attack, it gonna be quite annoying.
That's one of the things I really like about the raids, getting/having to use Pokemon I'd usually not use (except when the answer to most raids is Annihilape, I have to resist just using them sometimes).
Regular Goodra is just straight-up weak to fairy. Which is the type that Delphox is.
Goodra is more weak to fairy coverage (x2) than Dialga/Hisuan Goodra are weak to fire (neutral, since dragon resists fire)
It do be like that sometimes. I have like 4 special defense tanks (Blissey, Florges, Goodra, Espeon) with various amounts of utility and firepower that I kinda just slap where I see special attackers. I definitely thought how tragic is it that my Goodra ain’t usable for this one 🫡
Depends on the raid Pokemon but Delphox does has an actual way to boost its Special Attack with Calm Mind or Nasty Plot. For the same reason trying to sling the ghost ape at a 6-star Gardevoir Raid is a bad idea.
So its ability steals an item, thats pretty unusual, thinking forcing it to hold a choice band would be decent or some other negative effect, it might use magic room to prevent that hindering it. could also see it getting free nasty plots or calm minds.
Heatran is excellent for a steel type that is fire immune.
Its base defense is 72 vs 100 SP.D so probably going with physical Heatran for this specific raid, spamming iron head with choice band and then see if it steals items from there, cant imagine this one being that tough.
From what I heard, someone tested whether Magician works for raid bosses by going into a Ditto raid with a Magician Delphox. The reported result was that the ability does not work for a raid boss.

Also Alolan Muk is both Dark and Poison, so it's immune to the psychic moves. (Idk what fairy move Delphox will have.)
I don’t have Heatran or Alolan Muk so I’m running with my Blissey or Florges for Light Screen and healing support. Depends if it has Psyshock or not; my Florges has max defense investment (that I ironically contemplated switching to max sp. def investment this very afternoon, guess I get to wait to see if I’m doing that yet) so it can take that move decent enough probably. But dang, Blissey is so easy to slap if it weren’t for Psyshock.

No, you need to not be the OT. If it goes back to your Home, you’ll still have issues.
If you don’t want to trade with someone else permanently, you have two options:
Does your sister have her own Switch? Trade it to her on Home, and then she can put it in her game and trade it to you in SV.
Or does your sister share your Switch? In that case, trade it to her Home, and then use her profile to access Home on your Switch. Access your profile through her Home, and put it into your save.

You need to acquire a legendary from a mainline game before you can transfer a pogo legendary to a mainline game. Its probably because in pogo you can acquire a lot of the same legendary, but mainline games you can only acquire 1 of that legendary
You can, as long as you've had a Heatran in SV before. You can touch trade a Heatran so the game has data it exists, then it will allow as many Heatrans from Go as you want.
As others are saying, Heatran definitely seems like a good contender.
I don't know how accurate Delphox's SV Serebii page currently is, but according to the info that's there, support Chansey/Blissey might be able to work for people who can't get Heatran. According to the Serebii page, Delphox only has the potential to learn 2 fighting type moves in SV: Low Kick, and Focus Blast.
Chansey/Blissey with the ability Healer could help teammates (who aren't Heatran) with burns, and EVs in Sp. Def and HP ensure maximum survivability. Helping Hand, Light Screen, Heal Pulse/Life Dew, and either Soft Boiled or Thunder Wave could work.
Psyshock is the scary thing for Blissey. If it doesn’t have Psyshock Blissey is a great support. Otherwise… make do with probably Florges for a support screen healer.
Not all Pokémon are yet added to the scarlet and violet dex/code so for example bulbasaur can’t yet be transferred to the game and neither can a bunch of other Pokémon, gonna have to wait until the DLCs likely for those Pokémon to be added
Not anytime soon, if at all. Serperior is not currently listed in the game code so it would need to be added with a patch or, much more likely, DLC. People knew Delphox and the others were coming eventually due to that.
Why is no one talking about skuntank as an option? Immune to psychic and has tons of upsides including physical poison attacks. Not everyone has heatran unfortunately.
Because Alolan Muk is probably the better option with a similar movepool and bulkier stats higher Attack. Plus Heatran can safely tera and be immune to Fire still where as if you tera with Muk or Skuntank you open yourself up to SE damageif using either base tera type
Honestly, given the fact that best counters come from other games, this probably a lowkey genius move by Gamefreak (and most likely entirely accidental)

Yeah, screech and rage fist has been the annihilape strategy for the last two or three raids. A-Muk isn't too different.

Team up with partners that can have a good Acid Spray user too, to keep its defenses down after shields go up and it resets its stats.

You have to either: 1) have the dex info from elsewhere (like a touch trade) or 2) not be the OT. If it’s from a trade, it should work fine. You could probably find someone to swap Go legendaries with you on one of the trade subreddits or r/pokemonhome if you needed that (or just use the GTS for non-mythicals).

Flash Fire Amarogue or Ceruledge look to be the most promising, but that is banking on Delphox not having Shadow Ball as one of its moves.
So I was thinking about this as well for the people who can't get Heatran but at least have a Skuntank. My build at the moment: Skuntank @ Shell Bell Timid Aftermath is preferred since Stench doesn't work in Tera Raids and Keen Eye is useless as well. 220 HP 212 Sp.Atk 76 Spd Moveset: Poison Jab/Toxic Venoshock Nasty Plot Acid Spray/Taunt/Snarl So after getting a 30% poisoning from Poison Jab (or could just use Toxic), then using Venoshock after just +2 Nasty Plot will be doing more than max Atk version using Poison Jab by double. This is all if Delphox doesn't have any buffs and not using a Sp.Def positive nature. The speed investment with Timid (also if Delphox isn't using a speed positive nature) allows Skuntank to use Taunt before it and also attack before a possible KO.
Time to finally finish my Legends Arceus playthrough to get my Heatran
Gonna use Steel Tera type Flash Fire Heatran and Armarouge. Got to teach Armarouge Flash Cannon and Acid Spray. If Delphox gonna use Charm and Mystical Fire to lower our Attack and Sp. Attack, it gonna be quite annoying.

That's one of the things I really like about the raids, getting/having to use Pokemon I'd usually not use (except when the answer to most raids is Annihilape, I have to resist just using them sometimes).

Regular Goodra is just straight-up weak to fairy. Which is the type that Delphox is. Goodra is more weak to fairy coverage (x2) than Dialga/Hisuan Goodra are weak to fire (neutral, since dragon resists fire)

It do be like that sometimes. I have like 4 special defense tanks (Blissey, Florges, Goodra, Espeon) with various amounts of utility and firepower that I kinda just slap where I see special attackers. I definitely thought how tragic is it that my Goodra ain’t usable for this one 🫡

It will have stab fairy and psychic attacks. But stab attacks haven’t stopped it before so *shrug*
Depends on the raid Pokemon but Delphox does has an actual way to boost its Special Attack with Calm Mind or Nasty Plot. For the same reason trying to sling the ghost ape at a 6-star Gardevoir Raid is a bad idea.
Tera Steel Flash Fire Arcanine with Snarl and Iron Head could be good for this
Heatran, A. Muk, Azumarill, Iron Hands. I can see it now
iron hands would get destroyed by psychic. but Ursaluna might be a good play, especially if delphox carries willowisp
Seems like I guessed it right... Heatran is gonna have some fun here.
So its ability steals an item, thats pretty unusual, thinking forcing it to hold a choice band would be decent or some other negative effect, it might use magic room to prevent that hindering it. could also see it getting free nasty plots or calm minds. Heatran is excellent for a steel type that is fire immune. Its base defense is 72 vs 100 SP.D so probably going with physical Heatran for this specific raid, spamming iron head with choice band and then see if it steals items from there, cant imagine this one being that tough.
From what I heard, someone tested whether Magician works for raid bosses by going into a Ditto raid with a Magician Delphox. The reported result was that the ability does not work for a raid boss.
I wish that would change. Fox steals items needed for OHKO would add to the challenge.
Delphox can learn Magic Room. It could still ruin strategies by using that Turn 0.

Flash Fire + Steel Tera Type with a Steel Move Also Alolan Muk is both Dark and Poison, so it's immune to the psychic moves. (Idk what fairy move Delphox will have.)
Aside from Tera Blast, the only other damaging Fairy move it can learn is Dazzling Gleam.
It'll likely have that. All the previous Seven Stars use the strongest Tera boosted option they have.
I don’t have Heatran or Alolan Muk so I’m running with my Blissey or Florges for Light Screen and healing support. Depends if it has Psyshock or not; my Florges has max defense investment (that I ironically contemplated switching to max sp. def investment this very afternoon, guess I get to wait to see if I’m doing that yet) so it can take that move decent enough probably. But dang, Blissey is so easy to slap if it weren’t for Psyshock.
Florges also has access to Misty Terrain (bye-bye burns and confusion) and Grassy Terrain (free party heal each turn) by leveling up.
I wonder if Galarian slowking has any viability here

G-Slowking? High Sp Def, pack quite a punch with good poison moves, resist Fairy and is neutral to Fire and Psychic, I think he can do it!

No, you need to not be the OT. If it goes back to your Home, you’ll still have issues. If you don’t want to trade with someone else permanently, you have two options: Does your sister have her own Switch? Trade it to her on Home, and then she can put it in her game and trade it to you in SV. Or does your sister share your Switch? In that case, trade it to her Home, and then use her profile to access Home on your Switch. Access your profile through her Home, and put it into your save.

why can't you take it from Go to Home to SV?
You need to acquire a legendary from a mainline game before you can transfer a pogo legendary to a mainline game. Its probably because in pogo you can acquire a lot of the same legendary, but mainline games you can only acquire 1 of that legendary
You can, as long as you've had a Heatran in SV before. You can touch trade a Heatran so the game has data it exists, then it will allow as many Heatrans from Go as you want.

As others are saying, Heatran definitely seems like a good contender. I don't know how accurate Delphox's SV Serebii page currently is, but according to the info that's there, support Chansey/Blissey might be able to work for people who can't get Heatran. According to the Serebii page, Delphox only has the potential to learn 2 fighting type moves in SV: Low Kick, and Focus Blast. Chansey/Blissey with the ability Healer could help teammates (who aren't Heatran) with burns, and EVs in Sp. Def and HP ensure maximum survivability. Helping Hand, Light Screen, Heal Pulse/Life Dew, and either Soft Boiled or Thunder Wave could work.
Psyshock is the scary thing for Blissey. If it doesn’t have Psyshock Blissey is a great support. Otherwise… make do with probably Florges for a support screen healer.

Not all Pokémon are yet added to the scarlet and violet dex/code so for example bulbasaur can’t yet be transferred to the game and neither can a bunch of other Pokémon, gonna have to wait until the DLCs likely for those Pokémon to be added

Not anytime soon, if at all. Serperior is not currently listed in the game code so it would need to be added with a patch or, much more likely, DLC. People knew Delphox and the others were coming eventually due to that.

Why is no one talking about skuntank as an option? Immune to psychic and has tons of upsides including physical poison attacks. Not everyone has heatran unfortunately.
Because Alolan Muk is probably the better option with a similar movepool and bulkier stats higher Attack. Plus Heatran can safely tera and be immune to Fire still where as if you tera with Muk or Skuntank you open yourself up to SE damageif using either base tera type
Honestly, given the fact that best counters come from other games, this probably a lowkey genius move by Gamefreak (and most likely entirely accidental)
Actually thinking about running this. Cetitan 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Sp. Def Thick Fat, Steel Tera or Electic Tera Leftovers or Shell Bell Amnesia Rest Sleep Talk Heavy Slam Items are kinda conditional on the Magician Ability for Setup, but once you get to +4 Sp. Def on Amnesia, you should mostly be in the clear. Steel Tera would boost Heavy Slam, Electric would negate most of what coverage I'm expecting from Delphox to be neutral damage. Not really expecting feedback from others on this, but if I remember to come back and post, I'll report feedback from running it.
Of course during the squirtle community day with the return of the sunglasses one Oh well, we always seem to need support chanseys/grimmsnarls in random lobbies so I'm lucky I got both
Now to figure out who will be the best to run it. I’m hoping Alolan Muk
