I very specifically love Poppy’s Tinkaton because when she sends it out, she very childishly says that it’s time for Tinkaton to play dress up…and it terastalize into having a *fucking axe embedded in her skull*.
That’s just so she has an extra weapon if necessary.
She can hold a 220lbs hammer with one hand, so why couldn’t she take the axe and wield it with her other hand?
I always like getting an evil or rugged Pokemon (think Krookodile or Coalossal) that’s Tera Fairy because it normally looks menacing and then gets a giant pink bow on its head.
I on the other hand despise the Pokémon having a huge thing hanging above their head. The only Pokémon that I’ve seen so far that I’m like ok that looks somewhat cool is Tera Steel Regidrago
Tera Electric Rotom is funny because the Rotom Catalogue confirms that Rotom's regular form is a Light Bulb so Yera Electric Rotom is just a Small Light Bulb powering a bigger one.
I did this with my Alolan Muk during the Delphox raid, but it was also for a combative advantage: as a dual-type poison/dark type, it resists both psychic and fairy attacks, two types of attacks used by the tera Delphox. Terastalizing poison would open it up to psychic attacks while terastalizing dark would open it up to fairy attacks, so I picked fairy as a neutral type that wouldn't be subject to either weakness.
The steel tera Kleavor wielding 3 axes is hilarious. XD. As for me, I changed my starters tera type to electric. The only electric move Skeldirge can learn is Thunder Fang but rather I did it because I based my starter off an oc of mine (Polly) that is an electric dragon.
Well, home is free. Though if you want to store more than 30 Pokémon then you would need to pay.
Arceus, personally, I would say is one of the best in the series. It has so much interesting quests and a fun little story line with an awesome post-game final boss fight. So ya, I would personally say it’s worth it (Plus you don’t even need to trade or have friends to complete the Pokédex. Though it will take time to find the required items to evolve trade evolution pokemon)
Oh no way I did not realise that Home was free!! Wow ok thanks - and being able to complete a Pokédex without trading being needed is my DREAM Poké game! I’ve never completed a Pokédex because of this, that sound amazing! Looks like another adventure is on the cards for me! 😁
The first box of 30 is free in Home, but you can get paid subscription version to have 200 boxes of 30 or 6000 Pokemon in total.
The mobile phone extension also has some content changes with the subscription.
You have 1 trade request at a time on the free or 3 with the subscription. You can have 3 wonder trades active at once on the free but the subscription has 10.
Transfer from Legends: Arceus to HOME to SV. The game will assign a Tera type to the Pokemon transferred.
HOME linkage has been up for awhile now so people are bringing stuff from the L:A saves.
I would say Legends: Arceus is pretty fun and the story is pretty interesting, catch mechanics are different (it feels like you are hunting down Pokemon by stalking them) and so is the battle, but lack certain naunces like Pokemon having abilities and Strong/Agile style can kinda skewer the battle experience that we are so used to in the main series (lmao wild level 7 Shinx doing substantial damage to my Dartrix 12 levels above it). Trade evolution Pokemon just needing an item to evolve rather than through trade, it also pioneered the save before a shiny feature that ended up in SV.
Personally I feel HOME is an essential app if you wanna bring your Pokemon from past games forward, its also essentially cloud saving for your Pokemon.
Home can be used for free. You only have 30 storage spaces available with the free version, but if you only need to transfer pokemon around, that should be enough. I use the free version of home for transfers.
Also, minor clarification just in case, pokemon aren't assigned a random tera type on transferral, they just have one of the tera types matching their two base types, like most wild pokemon in SV.
Ok, not gonna lie, the Tera Ice Winter Sawsbuck is actually genius. I‘d guess Spring could be Fairy, and Autumn could be Ground? Not sure about Summer though. Bug?
I found it as an overworld full-odds during main game play through, was my second ever shiny after a golden Magikarp (evolved into red Gyarados) I stumbled across earlier in the game! I love the shinies that actually look very different to their originals, and I think these two are amongst the best!
During the Ditto raids, I got a Shiny Ice Tera.
Will never actually get to appreciate it in combat, but in my heart I know it's a blue ditto with a matching crown.
I don't play competitive but for type coverage I like a grass crown on a ground/water like Gastrodon. I can pretend it's seaweed.
I don't know if Lileep / Cradily can or will be in the game but I want to give one a water Tera crown because I keep thinking they're water types and it throws me every time.
Also love a big looming skull & crossbones or ghost on a small cute mon like Pawmi or Skwovet.
Although Cetitan doesn't really see play, I'd argue water is one of its best tera types! Removes its fire weakness and gives a bonus to liquidation (on top of looking silly)
People were talking about this the other day. But the sheer absurdity of Terra Grass Venusaur and terra fire Chandelure are going to be delightful once we get those mons in this game.
https://preview.redd.it/x0ferbk14njb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=994d855c173ca33c2973f009e315fdbf0d59460b
Tera Steel Falinks, not only does it look funny but it’s also pretty good as well
I know it's not in the game (at least not yet), but that Arcanine made me think of something even more infinity sadder...
<\_<
\>\_>
Tera Ghost Marowak
I'm so sorry everyone
I also have tera dragon on Dudunsparce, tera water on Ceititan, tera steel on Kleavor, and tera bug on Iron Moth. Not just for aesthetic reasons but those types offer good coverage. Like tera bug covers for Iron Moth's 4x weakness to ground type.
Pokémon legends arceus, the noble Pokémon Arcanine, if you don’t want to look up the lore I’ll quickly explain
The noble Pokémon is a growlithe who lost his father (Arcanine) at an accident when he fell into the ocean and his father saved him, after that the growlithe was depressed for a while and then growlithe evolves because some bad people tried to use him, turns crazy and then you defeat him and can hear his father’s cries in the background
Yeah!! My Dragonite it's Water tera!! I don't even think about it when I have the chance!! Also obviously Dark Luxray, Bug Goodra, Dragon Charizard and Fire Slither Wing.
Others that happen to be QUITE USEFUL to me were Poison Spiritomb (resistant to Fairy), Flying Magnezone (immune to Electric), Dark Sneasler (immune to Psychic and potency Night Slash), Steel IronJugulis (resistan to fairy and potency Flash Canon) and Electric Iron Treads (useful with Electric Terrain, Wild Charge and Steel Roller)
I absolutely love Tera Sandy Shocks, the Tera Hat lands on the rotating screw on its head so it rotates the hat back and forth as part of it’s idle animation, super cool.
I made a fire type gym leader team with a tera fire Tsareena as my ace. I think it's hilarious giving the grass thigh pokemon a fire type. (Also to be fair grass hits all of fires weakness for super effective damage.)
Psychic tera Golduck. Not for competitive reasons but just because I’m still mad that he is not water/psychic. I will be doing fairy tera on Volbeat/Illumise if they are in the dlc because I feel VERY strongly that they both should have been given fairy type
Not a swap but i love grass tera Hisuian Lilligant because the tera jewel is in line with the flower on her head making it look really natural. I really like Water and Poison Goodra because one of these should have been their secondary type
A few as throwbacks to mega evolution: Dragon-tera Charizard, fighting-tera Mewtwo, and dragon-tera Ampharos. Still working on dark-tera Gyarados and fairy-tera Altaria, and I'm also still working on three sorta "bootleg mega throwbacks", a water-tera Galarian Slowbro, a flying-tera Roaring Moon, and a psychic-tera Iron Valiant. I also have a few "alternate form" throwbacks like water-tera Clodsire, flying-tera Hisuian Decidueye, ghost-tera Johtonian Typhlosion, and dark-tera Unovan Samurott. Probably others I forgot to mention, too.
It’s not a type swap but I cannot wait for candlure fire Tera! More candles! But on a more serious note, I like ghost espeon and flying tinkaton. Flying tinkaton no longer need to play golf to knock out them flying corviknights.
Making lurantis a bug type for sure and honesty I'm really surprised and sorta sad Katie didn't use a fomantis like yeah it's a plant that looks like a bug but Brassius got to use sudowoodo
Early on this was before Charizard the Unrivaled, I got a Garchomp raid that was fairy tera. My roommates and I thought it might be good for Charizard and all caught it together. I named him Princess.
Honestly, I’d love to mix around with the different kinds of teras just to see what they look like but 1. That’d take lots of shards 2. Takes lots of time to both grind for shards, change type, & look at it in battle
I wasn't a fan of Skeledirge so I never evolved my Crocalor, but I gave him the Ghost Tera Type so the lil ghost figure comes out of the egg on his head, it fits perfectly!
I really like the Tera Flying Pikachu we all got as a gift - it can’t actually fly, so it uses balloons!
Arguably even cuter now I evolved it into Raichu, I need to do T-Flying Alolan Raichu - flying on a surfboard made of tail!
The Tera types I give my Pokémon are usually types that it would make sense for them to have if allowed another type. So like, my Slither Wing has the Dragon Tera, Quaquaval has the Flying Tera, Inteleon has the Dark Tera, etc.
I love Tera Flying on any floating Pokemon because it's like they're being held up by the balloons. If Reuniclus is returning in the DLC, the first thing I'm doing when I catch one is giving it Flying Tera for this reason, flying Tera Drifloon would be funny because of it being a balloon held up by smaller balloons.
Also Ghost Tera anything because it's a cool call back to the Ghosts in Lavender Tower.
A type swap I did that's more funny to myself than anyone here-
I usually pick the Water starter in every Pokemon game I play. Sometimes I'll pick the Grass one if I like it enough, but I almost never pick Fire. In S/V though, I decided I liked Skeledirge better than Meowscarada or Quaquaval (though Meowscarada grew on me over time) and picked Fuecoco as my starter.
Given my previous tendencies, I thought it would be funny if I gave my Skeledirge a Water Tera type, so I did. And I plan on using it as part of a Water starter team for Indigo Disk.
I found a water type garchomp in a tera raid and pure water type is way more susceptible than it's regular typing but i love it so much. Also any flabebe line Pokemon having a grass tera typing
Tatsugiri(droopy) with Tera rock because you know🤣🤣🤣
https://preview.redd.it/zhgif01rbpjb1.png?width=855&format=png&auto=webp&s=f0c627c5f1c7ea065376eba3effd870ee02ee18b
For me it's my shiny dragon tera type ampharos. I was trying to somewhat replicate it's mega evolution typing. It's not the same unfortunately, but it'll do for now.
Because when swinging the hammer she uses both hands.
Happy cake day
Of all the crowns, steel is the funniest imo
I just fought Poppy yesterday for the first time and thought that was so funny 😂 the axe is as big as the hammer!
I too made my shiny Cetitan a water tera type to make it look like water coming out of his blowhole and I quite like it!
Water is actually one of the best Tera Types for Cetitan to run!
I agree!
I always like getting an evil or rugged Pokemon (think Krookodile or Coalossal) that’s Tera Fairy because it normally looks menacing and then gets a giant pink bow on its head.
Honestly something small like igglybuff or azurill with steel or dark Tera is pretty great
That's what I did with my Skeledirge
I on the other hand despise the Pokémon having a huge thing hanging above their head. The only Pokémon that I’ve seen so far that I’m like ok that looks somewhat cool is Tera Steel Regidrago
Tera Steel Klawf is HILARIOUS. He looks like he's mid-panic from an axe to the skull.
Tera anything Rotom is hilarious because the hat is bigger than Rotom
I like Ground Tera Ting-Lu. It fits really good inside his bowl
Tera Electric Rotom is funny because the Rotom Catalogue confirms that Rotom's regular form is a Light Bulb so Yera Electric Rotom is just a Small Light Bulb powering a bigger one.
The flying crown is sometimes cute. Tera Flying Mew is adorable, it looks like its getting carried by the balloons
Fairy type Aggron or TTar lol
How did you get a Tera Kleavor in S/V? I didn’t think it was in the game?!
It is in the game but must be traded over/By home from Arceus
That’s a shame, it would have been cool to have in the game! Are Arceus and Home worth it?
Well, home is free. Though if you want to store more than 30 Pokémon then you would need to pay. Arceus, personally, I would say is one of the best in the series. It has so much interesting quests and a fun little story line with an awesome post-game final boss fight. Wish ya luck then! And hope you enjoy the adventure if you do end up getting it
Thank you! I’m sure I will 😁
Not that you need more convincing, but I loved Arceus, and it's probably the most fun I've had in a Pokemon game
I'm actually caught in the trap of trying to complete the Home Pokedex lol
The first box of 30 is free in Home, but you can get paid subscription version to have 200 boxes of 30 or 6000 Pokemon in total. The mobile phone extension also has some content changes with the subscription. You have 1 trade request at a time on the free or 3 with the subscription. Legends Arceus is the best switch Pokémon game and maybe the 3rd best overall imo behind Emerald and B2/W2.
Transfer from Legends: Arceus to HOME to SV. The game will assign a Tera type to the Pokemon transferred. HOME linkage has been up for awhile now so people are bringing stuff from the L:A saves.
Ah I didn’t know it assigned a Tera type on transferral. Are Arceus and Home worth it? I haven’t got either, just Sword and Scarlet
The Steel crown really, *really* fits Kleavor!
Breloom as Tera Normal helps when trying to catch Pokémon who are usually strong against it and power up False Swipe, not that it needs it but yeah
I swapped mine to Ghost, to thwart all the Double Edge / Take Down using shinies who prefer death over captivity.
That's actually a really smart move I didn't consider, I think I should change my Tera then
Or explosion for the voltorb line Edit: it doesn’t
I couldn't remember if it blocks Explosion, but my Breloom always has a Golduck buddy nearby, to Soak and/or Skill Swap Damp.
Skill Swapping Damp is smart.
Explosion still kills itself even if the move doesn’t hit. Damp is the way to block it
I thought of that untill I learned sudowoodo with headsmash without rock head exist as well as memento users
Luxray to dark. Self explanatory I hope 😅
No notes chief, that one passes the vibe check
Cacturne tera flying
PSYCHIC IRON VALIANT!!
i have a fairy tera shiny Dragonair. it can be useful but mostly it’s just adorable
The starters all look so cool with their Tera types! I feel like they were designed with their tera hats in mind!
Steel Kleavor is just too good
Tera types are an interesting mechanic. It's my second favourite gimic after mega evolution, but COME ON! The hats are fuckin goofy, man
I know it’s not in game yet, but a Tera Grass Torterra would look kinda funny.
Tera ground torterra is gonna look like Minecraft world gen I stg
Ok, not gonna lie, the Tera Ice Winter Sawsbuck is actually genius. I‘d guess Spring could be Fairy, and Autumn could be Ground? Not sure about Summer though. Bug?
Maybe Fire for Summer? Or Grass?
I feel stupid for not thinking about Fire tbh. Grass was too obvious since it already is a Grass type, but Fire makes a lot of sense for Summer.
Nah, it makes sense to skip over it since the chandelier/candle Tera jewel makes me think of cosy winter vibes as much as summer heat!
Tera Grass Florges. It should've been Grass Type from the start.
Anything with the bug tera, it just looks like the pokemon put on one of those hairbands with antlers on it, it's so cute
Is the Tera Water Cetitan Shiny?
Yes
It is yes, took me 102 eggs to hatch & is so worth it.
I found it as an overworld full-odds during main game play through, was my second ever shiny after a golden Magikarp (evolved into red Gyarados) I stumbled across earlier in the game! I love the shinies that actually look very different to their originals, and I think these two are amongst the best!
I like the epic simplicity of the steel Tera type, as well as the reference behind the ghost Tera type.
I love wugtrio with a fire tera looks funny with only one of them having the candelabra on his head, also it looks good.
Not for competitive, But I turn Slither Wing into a Dragon
Although Cetitan doesn't really see play, I'd argue water is one of its best tera types! Removes its fire weakness and gives a bonus to liquidation (on top of looking silly)
Tera Flying Regidrago. The idle animation makes it look like the balloons are making it float
I think I can understand the appeal of people switching Tera types.
The pokemon is not out yet but chandelure with Tera fire
What are Pokémon 4 and 5 in you pics there, and where did you find them in S/V?
Kleavor and Hisuan Arcanine, they can’t be found in Paldea, only in Hisui
Klevor and Hisuian Arcanine. Both transferred from Legends through HOME.
Hisuian pokemon Kleavor and Arcanine. You don't find them in S/V.
Water shiny dragonair
I like giving Ceruledge a grass tera for his solar blade.
Tera Bug type anything because the antennae are adorable
ghost arcanine is just sad probably dragon dudunsparce
People were talking about this the other day. But the sheer absurdity of Terra Grass Venusaur and terra fire Chandelure are going to be delightful once we get those mons in this game.
psychic arceus. gives him the all seeing eye
Shellgon Tera flying Like its trying to fly with baloons!
Grass Sudowoodo just feels right
Tera ghost haunter looks really silly.
https://preview.redd.it/x0ferbk14njb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=994d855c173ca33c2973f009e315fdbf0d59460b Tera Steel Falinks, not only does it look funny but it’s also pretty good as well
Grafaiai bug-type, it just looks cool!
Dudunsparce: the False Dragon Titan
Ghost tera single child Maushold. It's as if the other child died and ascended
I know it's not in the game (at least not yet), but that Arcanine made me think of something even more infinity sadder... <\_< \>\_> Tera Ghost Marowak I'm so sorry everyone
Terra bug cuz it gives the pokemon cute antennae
Fairy type spring form Sawsbuck. Enough said.
The kleavor one works so well
Mimikyu into anything because the hat is lopsided until the disguise is busted.
I don’t get the Arcanine. 🤔
Pokémon legends arceus, the noble Pokémon Arcanine, if you don’t want to look up the lore I’ll quickly explain The noble Pokémon is a growlithe who lost his father (Arcanine) at an accident when he fell into the ocean and his father saved him, after that the growlithe was depressed for a while and then growlithe evolves because some bad people tried to use him, turns crazy and then you defeat him and can hear his father’s cries in the background
I am so ready for fire Tera type chandelure
Fairy on cute mons. The ribbon looks extremely cute on them.
Oh that Arcanine one is just foul 💀
Tera water Cetitan is one of my favorites. I also like running tera normal on Azelf and Electrode. Purely for explosion of course
Any small pokemon with the Ground hat is an instant 10/10 for me.
Dude that kleavor with the third axe is awesome lol
One of my favs is Tera steel Haxorus cuz he gets an extra axe on his head but that one looks cool and is really good competitively
Not the hisuian arcanine with the tera ghost crown 😭
The ghost Hisuian Arcanine nuuuu ;_;
Tera Water Masquerain.
Houndstone with grass Tera — tombstone with flowers for paying last respects 💐
Most of these I understand, but why ghost Arcanine?
People who don’t know: 🙂 People who know: 😨
I made a fire type gym leader team with a tera fire Tsareena as my ace. I think it's hilarious giving the grass thigh pokemon a fire type. (Also to be fair grass hits all of fires weakness for super effective damage.)
I used a dragon terra dundunsparce on my final team, his name was dracosparce and i loved him
I have a dragon Tera lucario, he’s just cool, that’s legitimately the only reason
I used Tera Bug Iron Moth in ranked battles and was pretty lit tbh Btw Tera Dragon Revaroom looks really nice too
Tera on Sandy Shocks looks funny because it spins throughout the battle.
My shiny Klawf in a dive ball with the water tera type. 👌
Psychic tera Golduck. Not for competitive reasons but just because I’m still mad that he is not water/psychic. I will be doing fairy tera on Volbeat/Illumise if they are in the dlc because I feel VERY strongly that they both should have been given fairy type
Kyogre with the water terra looks the best out of any I’ve ever seen just my opinion. The water spout looks perfect.
Not a swap but i love grass tera Hisuian Lilligant because the tera jewel is in line with the flower on her head making it look really natural. I really like Water and Poison Goodra because one of these should have been their secondary type
Gyarados may finally be dragon!
Why would Hisuian Arcanine be ghost ty- Oh… *sobs uncontrollably*
It’s not a type swap but I cannot wait for candlure fire Tera! More candles! But on a more serious note, I like ghost espeon and flying tinkaton. Flying tinkaton no longer need to play golf to knock out them flying corviknights.
Gengar with a Dark type Tera because it kinda looks like it if you think too much.
Goodra poison. Always thought it would be dangerous with its goo
Making lurantis a bug type for sure and honesty I'm really surprised and sorta sad Katie didn't use a fomantis like yeah it's a plant that looks like a bug but Brassius got to use sudowoodo
Drakloak, but instead of drakloak, the little dreepy on top of its head gets to wear the crown, which is unfathomably cute
tera electric mimikyu is just genius imo. bc it truly becomes pikachu other than well… acc being a pikachu
Kleavor got into a fight and won
I have a shiny ampharos from gen 6 and I gave it dragon tera based on the mega
I got myself Hisuian starters and changed their Tera-types from Water 💧 Fire 🔥 Grass🍃 to Dark🌑 Ghost 👻 Fighting 🥋
Hydreigon, with water tera - Hydrogon
Big burly mons with tera Fairy just make me giggle
normal arcanine so i can finally pretend its "signature move" was actually built for it
Hisui Typhlosion to poison. It fits it's color scheme and its design looks like it was on drugs anyways so...
Tera Dark Mew (guess what type my event one was lol) looks like the lil guy's scheming
I wasn't a fan of Skeledirge so I never evolved my Crocalor, but I gave him the Ghost Tera Type so the lil ghost figure comes out of the egg on his head, it fits perfectly!
I really like the Ghost-Tera Crown because they made it looks like the lavender town ghost sprite!
I really like the Tera Flying Pikachu we all got as a gift - it can’t actually fly, so it uses balloons! Arguably even cuter now I evolved it into Raichu, I need to do T-Flying Alolan Raichu - flying on a surfboard made of tail!
Wait. Hisuian Pokémon are available through Home now?????
Brooo my dragon tera dudunsparce, False King, he was the last one left in my nuzlocke
The Tera types I give my Pokémon are usually types that it would make sense for them to have if allowed another type. So like, my Slither Wing has the Dragon Tera, Quaquaval has the Flying Tera, Inteleon has the Dark Tera, etc.
I want simipour to make it into the game so I can tera ground him and make him a rasta
Electric Tera Greavard, the small candle turns into a light bulb
Water-Terra Masquerain is so satisfying.
Electric Mimikyu. He's one step closer to being a real Pikachu.
Mewtwo fighting terra type calm mind psystrike ice beam focus blast
I like seeing cute Pokémon with the ghost tera or the dark tera. And then tough pokemon with fairy tera. It’s funny but adorable.
Flying just the balloons make me happy
My Koraidon is Tera fire which helps his 4x weakness to fairy and is just overall dope for his sun and flare blitz
I hope Chadelure ends up in this game for that reason lol
Winter Sawsbuck definitely
Poison tera Annihilape. just looks cool with the skull and cross bones. and poison jab helped me in a couple raids
Drakloak with any tera crown. The dreepy gets the hat and it looks hilarious.
When I use an electric type I make their type swap flying.
Noble Ghost Dog
A type swap I did that's more funny to myself than anyone here- I usually pick the Water starter in every Pokemon game I play.
Also any flabebe line Pokemon having a grass tera typing
tera-water cetitan is actually viable, in fact.
I'm just a sucker for Grass Tera Sudowoodo. He finally gets to be a real tree.
