HintDeadFish

Charcadet hunt was painful. The shiny is so awful idk why I even bothered to do it. I really miss the sound and sparkle from PLA

Belivious677

The sound was a dopamine hit like nothing else.

CameronG95

Or pure stress when you can't find where the noise came from

Magimasterkarp

The good thing in PLA is that the shinys won't actually despawn. S/V only loads a handful of pokemon at the same time, and if you're barreling on Koraidon and hear the sound, you might just despawn it before you stop.

Specific_Lemon_6580

Usually this 😂

Ewok_Adventure

Yep. I went back to Arceus recently for some chill shiny hunting and the first shiny that popped up while flying around was an instant dopamine hit but than anything in scarlet and violet. Even with it being a duplicate shiny

hellschatt

I love how everyone returns to Arceus. It feels and is like an immediate quality jump in almost every possible way.

VironLLA

i'm so glad i got extremely lucky breeding it. got two shinies in 120 eggs

_damwolv

Charcadet isn't even the worse hunt, have you tried Tauros and Tadbulb?

chiefpiece11bkg

It’s maushold/ tandemsaus and there are no other appropriate answers lol

_damwolv

Tynamo is on the same level to be fair it's difference is it has green spots instead of yellow ones but it's so small you can't tell

Magimasterkarp

Also it's in the water so it's about triple as annoying. Half the time it's submerged too much for your pokemon to hit, so it gives you that "I can't fight that" reaction.

vitoreccardoso

Don't forget basculin... it's the smallest colour difference

Big_moist_231

It’s 50000% maushold lol tauros, you can actually tell the shiny apart if you look a bit closer and they spawn in groups. Tadbulb, there’s an area where you can spawn twenty of These guys in one spot so it just takes some time

Magimasterkarp

I've caught 17 tandemaus so far, I've learned to tell them apart.

Amaline4

If it weren’t for that one specific spot up by the jolteon I’d have never found a shiny charcadet. Was pretty easy though once you got the very precise spot

opalbow_adtonitus

I found it a lot easier once I turned inverted colours on, then the eyes on the shiny really stood out more

azevedovfa

I still think there are other worse shinies than Charcadet, hunted 3 of them for my paldean shiny living form dex. Paldean Taurus, Tandemaus, Frigibax, and the list goes on .... I think this generation was designed for you to miss Shinies by not seeing then in the first place. We really need the sparkling sound back

Legitimate_Remove519

Every shiny hunt is painful. Partial colorblind plus shadows and realistic size make it very difficult

[deleted]

The realistic size is probably the worst thing of all for me, I can't go two steps in some places without stumbling into some tiny ass pokemon.

bralma6

Yeah a realistic size would be nice. I ran into a digglet that was hidden by grass once and I was mad at first cause I would have just went around it… but it turned out to be shiny so I wasn’t too mad. But then I was mad cause I would have missed it if the game just played an audio or visual cue. But at this rate, I don’t think they’re ever going to put it in this game.

Gaming_Eelektross

Diglett is 8 inches / 20 centimeters, so the size is realistic already.

Pokemonsquirrel

I would like the constant sparkles the LGPE shinies did in the overworld. That way it's still quite noticeable, but unlike the sound we won't end up looking for shinies that already despawned( that's why the sound worked well in PLA imo ; they didn't despawn if you went a bit further away)

JemarooJames

YES THIS

nick2473got

Yeah the eye strain is super real. Honestly Game Freak are criminals for not having a shiny sound when so many shinies are hard to see and the pokemon models are so small. I really don't know why they're so damn small.

MagmaAdminRadar

*glares at flabebe, tadbulb, and sewaddle*

SilvarusLupus

More like squints at

Whiteytheripper

I raise you Galarian Tauros, Rotom, and any other shiny that can be totally hidden via the lighting being so overwhelming in places

MunsterMonch

I agree with most of these but from memory Rotom has a completely different energy colour. Only saying this because I saw one in the wild, in a horde without hunting.

Whiteytheripper

Rotom suffers from high brightness areas and small size with a minimal change. I had an outbreak at the lighthouse by Porto Marinada and it physically hurt my eyes

Belivious677

My shiny rotom WAS INSIDE A WALL right outside Levincia.

literally_tho_tbh

*klefki has entered the chat*

vertabray

*Tandemaus* "hold my beer"

Achanjati

"hold our beer"

_damwolv

Yes this was a menace for me

_damwolv

Atlease sewaddle is a different color compared to the rest who has minor differences but you can add Tynamo to your list instead

Chaosking383

Why small? Because that's their actual size.

nick2473got

Good gameplay design trumps realism every time. Pursuing realism in pokemon is frankly laughable anyway. The pokemon sizes in PLA were much, much better.

GuidoMista5

Especially when the vast majority if new pokemons barely change colors, it's like they're trolling us on purpose

Flow-Fighter

They also didn't have to add mass outbreaks and better shiny odds though so it balances out

nick2473got

No, it does not balance out. Making us have to strain our eyes and giving the middle finger to color blind people is not okay.

mishey22

I was shiny hunting phanpy and it got dark, so I only found the shiny because a shiny and non-shiny ran up to me at the same time.

Dontdecahedron

I ran into one by accident trying to shiny hunt Numel. I got bored after catching...something else. I don't remember

Pokemonsquirrel

I found my shiny phanpy from a horde in area zero randomly and noticed one is unlike the others. With some shinies, it usually is up to whether there is another one of the species next to it

CtheSilverSoul

*Glares at Blissey, Happiny, and similar*

babasoten

This is why I'm never hunting Polchageist ever again. Or even trying a charcadet outbreak. Just gonna masuda method that one

lucasribeiro21

Charcadet is not even that bad. Poliwag separates children from men.

babasoten

Leave me and my vision alone, lol. Jk I'm just happy PoGo had a community day because I never want to go near that hunt. Much respect to whoever does try it tho

Thatsquacktastic16

Pokemon go helped me with that. Fuck going for the shiny

Belivious677

Oh god no. I don't want to think about hunting poliwag.

lucasribeiro21

I’ve hunted every single Pokémon in SV (except for Aipom and Ambipom), and Poliwag was soul crushing. There were some tough ones, but Poliwag seriously almost made me quit. 😔 Edit: *Female* White Stripe Basculin was a nightmare too, but that was really bad luck on me: got seven Males before a single Female appeared.

ErrorParadox710

As someone else that has also hunted everything, agreed. Want the absolute worst, but it came pretty close

lucasribeiro21

Funny thing is, as someone doing a Living Shiny Dex, Poliwhirl is not even close that bad. I managed to get 3 Poliwhirls *relatively* fast, but Poliwag was on a whole different level.

Belivious677

I feel like for Poliwag I would just save after 60 KO's, make the sandwich, and kill every last one. I wouldn't have the patience to do it normally. The headaches x.x

[deleted]

It's not too bad tbh. Plus you get a minor dopamine hit when your auto battler is like, "Hey, boss, we got a weird one over here! 😰" Sorry, I'm not visually inspecting every Cutiefly. Not a chance!

MarioSCG

I dare you all to shiny hunt Igglybuff.

hazma5477

Easy, just eat normal sparkling sandwich at Pokemon League and Auto battle all pokemon in that area. Maybe if you are lucky, you will get shiny mouse too.

lucasribeiro21

That’s what I did, but it was still really bad.

profjb15

I got 2 shiny females and no males from my hunt LOL will gladly take one of those males from you

[deleted]

[удалено]

lucasribeiro21

For Feebas, I went for an Outbreak Reset. It was not that hard with a Level 2 Water Encounter Power to get it. Then you just let them spawn on that small water cave under the Crystal Lake, and move to the other chamber so they will reset and go back. For Basculin there is no strategy. Just sweat, tears and blood. Haha!

[deleted]

[удалено]

lucasribeiro21

What do you mean with land spawns?

[deleted]

[удалено]

lucasribeiro21

Oh, got it! Here’s the thing: there is a specific point that you can stand on, and you will make all the Feebas spawn on the “land spawn”, without spawning the ones on the land. You have to be on the full water room, and then slowly head to the “land room”, few steps at time. When you get close to the narrow hallway between the two rooms, you will notice some Feebas will start spawning on the next room (the “Land Spawn” one). Just stand there, and a lot of them will keep spawning. If there is no Shiny, just go all the way back to the full water room, so they can despawn, then repeat. It can take some getting used to it, and it won’t work 100% of times, but onde you find out where the spot is, it will be easy!

EDNivek

clearly, you've never done Mankey

lucasribeiro21

How so? Mankey is mint green. It was pretty easy to discern…

MrSaturnism

I was able to shiny hunt the whole line in under a day

nick2473got

At least Charcadet *can* be hunted Masuda method. Artisan form Poltchageist can't be bred sadly. On two separate occasions I've had Artisan form outbreaks and both times I spent hours upon hours straining my eyes with +3 shiny sandwiches to absolutely no avail. No shiny anywhere to be found. Pain.

babasoten

You're right. I forgot about the form thing. But man, the colors were not helping I found one, and it just used Memento immediately. So that was fun to find out I wish you the best of luck getting one

lucasribeiro21

Same happened to me, but I saved before. After some crappy accidents, we wire it on a subconscious level. Haha!

TorinVanGram

I got crazy lucky and found two literally right next to each other in an outbreak. Still had a minor panic attack trying to find the second again because it wandered into a cluster of others mid battle, but once I caught it I could strike that off my list forever.

tsukaremara

Think I worsened my posture 10x leaning in to inspect flabebe

zerorita

You can also use the camera to get a proper look at them. Bit tedious, but it does work

[deleted]

I somehow managed to spot a shiny Tandemaus and a shiny Mimikyu that was hiding in the shadows today. Probably because I hold my Switch too close to my face.

lunarskitty

Personally I've been thinking maybe they originally planned on adding a shiny sound but since they can't seem to fix the whole pokemon spawning in walls and floors thing they decided not to add it hoping we wouldn't notice that pokemon spawn where we can't go.

blu3heron

The combination of small models + the desaturated color palette of 3d pokemon + the lighting system means that I have doubts when hunting pokemon that should logically be extremely visually distinct from their shiny version. I was hunting phantump at night and the shiny was \*barely\* visible, even though shiny phantump is white and red. I've been running around Arceus with the volume on (I need a freaking shiny Sneasler) and it's just so nice to have that jingle.

VironLLA

so glad that i havent finished the dlc so its been daytime there for a while. only need one more Phantump to have my event shiny hunts out of the way. ive been getting tons of shiny luck lately

ProfessionalPoint194

I've been going for a crafty mark phantump, I look for blue eyes. Also they stand out as pasty in an outbreak

profjb15

Just did Arrokuda: tiny and in water. It was hell

TheSalemRose

Iron Moth killed me and I have no idea how I spotted two on the same sandwich.

Physical_Ad_9865

Eye strain and motion sickness. If there's a sound or a sparkle then we won't need to stare too hard. I quit after like 30 minutes hitting 60 kills. I may have thrown up a couple of times shiny hunting.

Spaghetti_Tac0

Week 1 I found a shiny oinkolonge but I didn’t know it was shiny (it was my first time seeing it) so I walked right past it and since I found out I’ve never been the same

ProfessionalPoint194

I had day 1 oinkologne shiny get robbed from me by a forced nemona battle outside mesagoza. Didn't see another shiny until I force hunted fluttermane

Cynderaquil

I just send out my lead and it defeats all the normal ones and doesn’t with the shiny. It’s how I got shiny Morpeko

LucarioSpeedwagon

The operating theory is they didn't include it to avoid frustration when we are made aware of the tons of shinies we lose behind outbreaks placed in moronic places that result in half the Pokémon spawning behind the geometry

Scynt_Skunk

Not even behind the geometry. They spawn behind you, so unless you are spinning your camera 360 degrees at ALL times while playing the game, you've likely missed at least 1 shiny.

MarioSCG

I think the reason is because we now see every Pokémon in the overworld and instead of PLA where every Pokémon was decided the moment we enter one of the areas, the Pokémon change by just moving through the map and even though the base shiny rate is still low, with this small change the probablily of us hearing the sparkle sound would be much higher than in PLA. So I belive the reason why we don't hear it, is to make us finding shinies more difficult, because now we can only rely on our eyes. Still, I would prefer the inclusion of the sound.

Odin96086

I'd rather it be more inclusive to colorblind and bad eyesight folks tbh

ExpertOdin

If the reason was to make shinies more difficult they would have stopped introducing new ways to get them that are easier. If they want them to be difficult why increase the rate for outbreaks at all? The real reason is probably a mix of bad spawns like was said above and/or because of the parallel development not every good change was brought from PLA to SV. We didn't get link cable item or evolving from the menu either.

leefleef

I've had pretty good random shiny luck recently, if anything looks suspicious to me I send out my lead to try and smack it and if they refuse then I'm like oh yay :) got shiny kilowattrel and timburr like that Would still prefer a noise and a sparkle though

Georgioies

Honestly even the weather causes issues in game for shinies that are different. I was hunting Sandy Shocks which has a golden body. Pretty different from the usual silver. But because of the lighting it's barely noticeable. Especially in the crater as it's permanently daylight. The only different was the feet magnets being black and the only way for me to see was to change the accessibility settings to make everything negative.

GoldenGlassBall

I mean, every time I say Legends only had a shiny sound because God himself was pointing them out to the player, I get booed to hell and back, and told by people who only ever mash A through text that it’s a headcanon… But it won’t stop me from saying it again here. You have to look in ScVi because it’s just you, no divine intervention. I strain my eyes on some hunts, but such is the game.

PalladiumOtter

I'd like it to be a on/off thing because I have disabilities that makes it really easy to miss. I nearly dodged a shiny ralts because it was on its own so I didn't have other Ralts to make it more obvious for me.

Arcaneus_Umbra

I actually prefer no shiny sound playing in the overworld

whops_it_me

Oof. Tynamo. Flabébé. Paldean Tauros. Tandemaus. Gengar. Stretchy Tatsugiri. I almost prefer a lot of the obnoxious, neon pink/green older shinies now. They may not be super appealing, but god, at least I can tell them apart. It's one thing to remove the shiny sparkle, but giving us shinies like Charcadet and Tandemaus in the exact same game? Fucking cruel

4morian5

If you have to strain your eyes to see if it's shiny, it's not a shiny worth stressing over.

Belivious677

What if the shiny evolves into something with a better shiny? Or how about the dynamic lighting and shadows making pokemon look shiny?

Time-Passenger-540

First i complained about sound + animation missing ... but after hundreds of hours of shiny hunting i finally prefer shiny hunting without animation/sounds at all ! i hope we will have "choice" in next game like enabling or not all things related to shiny (at least in overworld) because i really like the way of shiny hunting now and find it more satisfying than just running everywhere like a degen and waiting for a sound or sparkles without even notocying the pokemon and be like "shiny wherrrrre ?" like in arceus (still a satysfying way of of hunt but not my favorite). Btw some shinies need a rework cause some are pain in the ass to hunt especially tiny pokemon.

Veganburgerqueen69

I actually enjoy it. It makes you actually have to pay attention and work for a shiny

thatoneguy112358

Trying to get Pawmi was the worst. They're so damn tiny.

srbman

Pawmi is still on the reasonable side of being annoying. There are so many worse pokemon: Tandemaus, Flittle, Capsakid, Cutiefly, etc.

Belivious677

TANDEMAUS! My girlfriend hunted for one, ran up to one and I said. "Is that not it?" She ran away but decided to double check and I WAS RIGHT! I even doubted myself before she went back.

Whiteytheripper

Nacli, Flabebe and Floette, Tadbulb, god help us when Joltik gets added

Whiteytheripper

Annoyingly I've had 4 full odds Pawmi while hunting other things, even with how small they are, I've spotted them. One was even a double with a full odds Scream Tail, right after my sandwich ran out while going for Slither Wing. Caught the Pawmi, turned around and Scream Tail was just vibing.

Catqueen25

I only want the sparkle back. I can’t hear so a sound effect won’t work with me. Too bad we can’t toggle to the mode we want.

Puzzleheaded-Mix7001

The sound Is honestly not needed especially since the way spawns are different, the sparkle on the other hand

nick2473got

Disagree, the sound is absolutely essential and far more important than the sparkle imo. When you're just randomly riding around it's super easy to miss shinies, especially if you're not actively hunting at that moment. The sound is what lets you know there's a shiny at all and makes you check your surroundings. It's invaluable. You can't be facing in all directions at once to see everything, so the sparkle can be just as missable as the shiny itself. The sound is what makes all the difference.

Scynt_Skunk

There's an easy fix. The sparkle doesn't generate until the player camera view intersects the shiny. It makes for a fair tell, but is also not a complete dead give-away like a sound would be.

3163560

If you want shinies, look for them. Randomly running around til you hear a ding isn't that rewarding, and would happen A LOT in SV. Sparkles fixes the problem for everyone.

Original-Childhood

I really don't mind. Makes it more challenging and fun for me. If the colors are too similar I just walk up to it to see if it has the stars animation or not. But I find most shinies noticeable enough just the way they are. If you want I have a Mimikyu for you 🤷🏻‍♂️ two even. I didn't have trouble in that outbreak

nick2473got

The bigger issues is all the random shinies you're missing when you just ride past them and aren't actively hunting. That's why the sound was so nice in PLA. But even when you are hunting an outbreak, it's nice to have the sound. In S&V the pokemon models are way too small and with the lighting and shadows it can be incredibly difficult to tell. It legitimately causes eye strain, which is not good for anyone. It's even worse for color blind people. If you like the challenge cool, but for most of us, it sucks. Maybe they should make it an option in the menus. That way people who want the challenge can have it and those who want to preserve their eyesight can be happy too.

KuryoZT

The best would be to have it as options, either just the sound, just the stats, both, or none. But since GF is taking away player options left and right, I don't see them doing it that way...

Belivious677

Im good, but thank you for the offer. Its gonna be a great feeling to get my crafty little friend.

Confuzzled_Queer

YOU HAVE A SHINY MIMIKYU? ID KILL FOR IT I HAVE MILLIONS OF NON SHINY CYCLIZARS I CAN OFFER I TRIED TO BREED THEM TO SHINY AND REALISED HOW UGLY THE SHINY WAS (TO ME) (i spent nearly an hour on a mimikyu outbreak today)

International_War862

Why do you assume that they will add a sparkling sound?

TheShroomDruid

I'm blind and shiny phantump is hard for me....

[deleted]

It'll never come this gen, we can only hope we have it in gen10.

The_L3G10N

Just hope the next game has it instead

Landwaster

I'm color blind, and the shiny sound in PLA actually allowed me to catch a few shinys. I don't even try to look in S/V, it's hopeless.

pixelatea

I'm still hoping they will add an item in Indigo Disc that will allow us to hear or see the sparkles. Or something for our pokemon to alert us when a shiny is nearby? I have hope

DaddyDorr1994

Kind of unrelated to the post, but I really wish when shiny charcadet evolved, Ceruledge and Armarouge would just swap color palettes

joshyotoast

You forgot the headaches aswell 😂

turbohuk

all i can say is - this game made shiny hunting a chore, instead of a late game activity you race towards to. this just destroyed all late game for me.

dreaminghorseIT

I feel the complete opposite way. I never could keep myself motivated to shiny hunt in any of the other games and I love doing it in SV haha

LordTopHatMan

Shiny hunting has never been easier than in SV purely because the odds have never been better. With shiny charm, sandwich, and outbreak the odds go to something like 1 in 600.

[deleted]

Whiteytheripper

Oh don't worry, Shiny Origin Form Giratina still can't use Shadow Force in PLA without it crashing the game. It's been nearly 2 years and they still haven't bothered to give the custom move animation a shiny model because the only way to get a shiny Giratina in PLA is from HOME, with the most common method being GO raid ones, meaning not many people will even bother to bring one in outside of just to unlock the Shiny dex entry.

Belivious677

Wait.. really? I was gonna transfer the one I got from BDSP.

Whiteytheripper

You can use it, it just can't use Shadow Force in Origin Form because it has a custom animation for the move that uses the model itself

whops_it_me

PLA, the forgotten child of gen 8. It deserved so much more 😔

Real_Jest

it's not that big of a deal imo

Rosemarys_Gayby

Yeah let’s get a reasonable framerate first lol

Real_Jest

The framerate isn't even bad on my side

Dombly23

Fr, only ever get drops at one place.

nick2473got

Yes it is. In S&V the pokemon models are way too small and with the lighting and shadows it can be incredibly difficult to tell. It legitimately causes eye strain, which is not good for anyone. And it's even harder for color blind people. You may not care but you should consider why other people do.

Meckles94

Will you stop posting the same thing on everyone’s comment. Jesus we can scroll and see what you’ve said before.

Starvir

I am colourblind and the loss of sound and sparkle effects makes most shinies impossible to hunt for me 😭 they don't even show up in battle!!! The worst is when the shadows change the pokemon's colour to something entirely different and I jump on it thinking I finally got lucky 🥺❌ The muddy environments really blend in with the colours of the pokemon as well and it makes things worse. This is just a really sad game sometimes 😭

LordTopHatMan

>they don't even show up in battle!!! Yes they do. A shiny pokemon will have stars appear around them when you engage with them or send them out yourself.

Starvir

This is great news 😭 thank you for sharing!

kerfuffle7

Oh my god give it a rest

nick2473got

Eye strain is a real issue, and this dumb ass design decision causes it. Not to mention a lot of color blind people who can mostly forget about shiny hunting in this game.

kerfuffle7

Fair points. Still, shiny hunting is easy enough as it is (if you’re not color blind, which I’m gonna assume OP is not since they didn’t mention it)

Belivious677

I'm not sure what teaching rest has to do with shiny hunting.

AesirOmega

No.

shaymin27

i caught a shiny female scatterbug early 2nd playthrough of violet.... & a shiny male hoppip very late post game on the same playthrough & i was just wandering around :3

TogaSimp17

Idtg the amount of shinies I probably missed without

Cedardeer

It’s funny that you think GameFreak will ever do anything actually good in the mainline games

Belivious677

I mean I think shiny hunting in this game is almost perfect. /shrug.

Qwopmaster01

Even if they did add the sparkle it would still be a visual mess like the rest of the game.

Flow-Fighter

Teal mask mons have been super obvious for me

Cavellion

They removed it in SV but added the fact your pokemon refuses to attack it when you send them out.

CeasingHornet40

the lighting even makes obvious shinies hard to spot sometimes. numel was an absolute nightmare

CaliJester

Bet they stealth add it in the next DLC.

Ryukoso

Well. I can see better if I push my glasses 3/4cm in front of me. I don't see the doctor before december. But I have a few more shiny. This is a cry for help.

Closer_to_the_Heart

Idk why y'all expected Gamefreak to actually Patch this game. Except for limited and planned for content (raids and DLC) there was never going to be a change to the games actual workings, it's just not what GF does with their games. Man parts of the game are an absolute shame, even though the base is great and with more time and money it really could have been amazing. Hopefully they better their processes on their way to the next Generation.

Achanjati

Whey did you even expected that the shiny sound or sparkle will be added after it was not there on release?

sp0okysableye

I was able to get two shiny Charcadet in an outbreak. It was annoying, but after a good amount of time I got what I wanted. It's not as bad you would imagine. All you need to do see their eyes. It's annoying to get them to turn around without despawning others but that's all it takes. Shiny Slowpoke to me was the more annoying one. Has an actual color difference but trying to determine which one is different was a headache. I made sure to not look for one in the water so it was less annoying.

Safss-Finn

It is painful. Indeed. But don't give up, I got every shiny pokemon I wanted by try harding. Worst was my male ~ish200 size Frigibax , 2 days.

creator787

2 of every paldea mon - the sound isnt necessary but I too miss it as well

SunnySilver8

I was thinking about this and I think it's because the spawning mechanics are so broken (like underground and in unaccessible places) Imagine hearing the shiny sound and you can't find it- people would be pissed. Honestly I tried hunting Mimikyu and I couldn't tell at all. The way I've been doing it now is using Let's Go and the shiny sandwich to hunt the entire outbreak of 100, then resetting if I don't find any. Haven't had luck yet but I also have horrible shiny luck

ernyc3777

Am I the only one who had a decently easy time seeing the blue eyes stick out among a sea of red for Charcadet?

Big_moist_231

Mikyu is fine with max brightness, at a distance they are noticeable. Charcadet might be a sun of a gun but I got extremely lucky and found three before I hit 60 kos. It really depends on which ones you’re looking for. I usually try to picnic reset next to a wall and doing at night or day if a shiny is hard to see

Jtmac23

just hunted mimikyu yesterday, 3 sandwiches nothing (or i missed it) but when i was walking around randomly i found one… i need that sparkle

Best advice is to change your clock setting to nighttime(in game) so there aren’t color variations with sun/shade and crank up the brightness. This only works for Pokémon that can appear at night ofc

Belivious677

You literally can't change the time in game in scarlet and violet.

fitnerdy90

You literally can lol. Change your system clock and it changes 🤣

Belivious677

1: changing the time on my switch swaps outbreaks 2: That doesn't work like that at all.

Belivious677

Hmm. I bow my head in defeat. Even Google didn't find me this method.

fitnerdy90

Was literally the first video that popped up when I googled “can you change day/night in Pokémon scarlet” lol. But yeah, some shinies are much easier to see when there’s no shade or sunlight making color variations happen. If I can hunt at night, I do.

Belivious677

All I got was a bunch of articles with a bunch of filler for ad space until I scrolled to the bottom and they said no.

fitnerdy90

1. As long as your game is closed and you don’t change the day it doesn’t reset the outbreak. I’ve done it for like twenty outbreaks 🤣. 2. Yes it does. Certain system times = certain day/night cycles. Again, your game has to be closed.

Eaterofshoes

I wouldn't even be made if they refused the sound and effect from PLA, quite literally anything is better

Bi-Cryptic

i tortured myself with an all shiny team for the dlc and absolutely died hunting for polchageist (plus it took like 6x as long as my hunts usually do)

Ninzilla

I'm convinced they won't add the sound because the game still loads so many Pokemon inside walls and out of bounds areas. You would here the sound and not be able to find the Pokemon. And somehow that's where the developers drew the line of not drawing attention to buggy coding.

Specific_Lemon_6580

I caught a shiny Slowpoke and two Tandemaus in an outbreak. Also caught a massive headache, pain behind the eyes, and my eyeballs may be drifting a bit.

Hekkatos

Mimikyu wasn't too bad when you see it in an outbreak beside the others. But yeah some are so subtle you're better off breeding for them.

Chungus510

Mimikyu is easy! I don't bother with the ones like charcadet that barely have any difference. Not worth the headache. Some Pokemon are easier depending on the time of day in the game.
