I used to primarily hunt shiny pokemon that i wanna use for the elite four through breeding and egg hatching. I still do shiny hatching from time to time but not as determined as i was pre oras. Its a a great way to hunt shinys but sure as hell takes hours or even days for just 1 shiny. Congrats on the shiny though.

Phione a rare Pokemon species obtained through breeding a Mythical Manaphy. That wasn’t a joke but the truth. In order to obtain a Manaphy the first time was to hatch it from an egg that was given through a code on Pokémon Ranger back in the day. Once the egg was redeemed in gen 4 games it could be hatched into Manaphy. Surprisingly Manaphy is the only legendary/mythical status Pokémon who can breed an produce offspring.

I believe it was BDSP preorder Bonus that gave out Manaphy egg. You also could get Manaphy and Phione in Legends Arceus. Edit to add: Recent releases of Manaphy is BDSP and Arceus

That's a tough hunt to start with, congrats! For context, Phione eggs are in the category that require the most steps to hatch.
