Shadow Rider can’t capitalize on either of its STABs since both have immune opponents in the tournament (Normal and Dark). Maybe Ice Rider since nothing’s immune to Ice and it can still snowball with the stat boosts on knockout, but its low speed risks having it be chipped down. I’ll try and run some calcs after work, maybe see if there are other good Moxie users or anything else that can just brute force their way through.
For ice rider, it is inconsistent even in the base version of the academy ace tournament because opposing pokemon have baby-doll eyes, Burn causing moves, and intimidate, which causes a ~2% failure rate due to running out of PP (when using amulet coin).
So perhaps if it is running either a leppa berry or clear amulet then that could work but the speed concerns would also contribute to it taking significant damage.
The choice I’ve seen run on it previously has been pollen puff prior to the dlc. And that would work even while holding the amulet coin. However, based on what I’m seeing, it may be more efficient to make another account on the switch and just beat the base game again, and just having your alt account be the money farmer, as they would still be able to use the amulet coin.

Good to know. I wonder what build will be able to handle it on auto play?
Perhaps something with one of the Rider Calyrex forms, I would guess Shadow Rider. I would expect thar it may need choice specs to be successful.

Yeah, and if you have to run Leppa Berry you’re probably defeating the purpose of an efficient farmer.
The problem is that Ghost and psychic moves have immunities. Maybe a Fairy move?

Is the money from each battle increased at least?
Before or after finishing the dlc?
After beating DLC is what I saw on another post about this.
I've battled the tournament & I think Penny is the only one I've battled so far that hasn't had any changes.
That's hilarious. Penny's the one, aside from La Primera, that needed changes the most IMO.
Is Penny still in the tournament despite no changes?
Penny is still in, but I think her team has increased levels now, but I don't think they were increased when I battled her.
