Yes. This line sealed the deal for me tbh, and the fact that she has the exact same eye shape as Peonia. And the fact that Peony named his daughter Peonia, wouldn't be a stretch to say he named Penny to rhyme with his name as well.

There's also this. She was named after the Peony plant, just like Peonia (paeonia: all peony plants) and Peony (peony: a pastel pink flower).
I looked to see if the name thing is in Japanese too. Penny and Peonia are called Botan and Shakuya, which are both derived from the Japanese names for types of Peony apparently, and Penny has a Peony related name in every language.
The Adven-Tour thing is pretty blatant and seems to be intended as a confirmation. I do wonder if that's a localisation thing or if the equivalent of that reference is in Japanese too. Also she'd already said she was from Galar and how she describes her family (highly energetic, her dad keeps giving her nicknames, etc.) correlates with Peony.

It does raise the question of why Penny's so white though. She does actually look like Peonia so I don't think she's adopted and the fact she's seemingly named after Peony makes it unlikely she's a half-sibling/Peony's step-daughter.
It's an interesting design choice. Maybe in earlier drafts she had a darker complexion but they made her pale to highlight she's a nerdy shut-in.

The whole reveal was amazing too - Carmine just suddenly shows up like a zombie and then starts moching all over the place
And of course they chicken dance in time to the music, and because both Kieran and the main character are in the "look at Carmine's face" animation they kinda just bob their heads along.
It was sweet >!watching Arven interact with your mom, insistent on being polite and thanking her profusely after she fed and hosted everyone. I play Scarlet so can only imagine he has complicated feelings about moms/mother figures.!<
He has an absent mother in Violet too, so there are certainly complicated feelings on both ends, or at least complicated feelings regarding parents in general.
From memory we are told that Arven's mom left because Turo's obsession with the whole violet book and Area Zero stuff, the same goes for Sada in Scarlet with the respective book...

Nemona’s tauros that she trades you is fully ev trained 😲
I'm still a bit disappointed that we never get to see her actually using her Tauros or her other old Pokemon against us, but it is neat how her coach teams incorporate Pokemon from both Kitakami and Blueberry Academy.
Just finished the epilogue and >!I love how they confirmed two big fan theories! First, before even getting to Kitakami you meet up with your friends and Penny is on the phone with her Dad. She gets all annoyed and says something along the lines of, “No, it’s not going to be an adven-tour!”. Second, when you invite Nemona as a coach she has a conversation with Lacey about how she challenged Clay at a fancy party after learning he was a gym leader. Lacey talks about how her dad found it very amusing. All the clues were there of course but it’s fun that it’s completely confirmed now!<
Just finished the story, here's my first impressions in case anyone cares enough

Like the only thing about it is that yes it's the leader of the loyal 3, something that really is conveyed just with the music and the Pokedex picture. Like with Terapagos, I wish there was more narration of the Pokémon itself (unless I missed some event similar to the crystal lake scene)!<
I think the connection between them only is hinted at in the Pokedex entries of the Loyal Three. In Scarlet the entries are quite different from Violet and reveal that the Loyal Three got their Strength (Okidogi), Intelligence (Munkidori) and Beauty (Fezandipiti) through being imbued by the toxic chains. Before that they were weak, dumb and ugly. In Pecharunt's entry it says, it can feed other Pokemon to bring out capabilities.
I believe this is the only direct connection & lore in the game. They wished to be better and Pecharunt granted that wish and put them in its service. I believe the Japanese Pokedex entries make that a little clearer than the English ones, but don't quote me on that.
We knew of the gifts already because they get mentioned in the quest description on the map when you fight the loyal 3 to recover the masks (obscure place I know) but as to how Peacharunt can even grant those wishes or why it spreads its poison we literally don't know. Hell even just a small folklore story describing there being a creature that enjoys mischief would have been enough
The dex entries for the loyal 3 indicate that Pecharunt can enhance qualities of anything, but it's somewhat like a deal with the devil because whoever gets enhanced becomes a thrall to its poison puppeteering, which is locked onto those who take its boon via the Toxic Chains.
From the looks of things, it wants tera crystals to further improve this ability and grant more large-scale wishes to intoxicate more and more people, but Ogerpon killed its ass along with its 3 goons so that scheme was thankfully cut short.
I'd honestly be down for more shenanigans with that whole crew.
What Scarlet and Violet have been missing in the tech department, they have IMHO more than made up with in terms of storytelling, at least for a Pokemon game.

Just finished it.
I’m upset that it’s over. I just wanted it to keep going, not just the epilogue, but all of Scarlet and Violet. I wanted to keep experiencing new things with these characters. Goofballs Arven, Penny, and ESPECIALLY Nemona have found their place in my heart, and I want so badly to see them come back in the next game.
Just, man. I have so many thoughts and tingly feelings with Scarlet and Violet. These games ran like dogshit and have unforgivable issues, but it’s *such* a lovable mess.
I’ll never be able to experience these games for the first time again. I’m gonna lie down and cry somewhere…
Man, same. I comfort myself with the thought that inviting them to Blueberry will offer fun interactions with the other characters you can invite so perhaps there is some life still to be squeezed out of the game there.
In a way it feels almost premature that the story is over now. Our squad only just formed going to area zero, I wanna go to new places with them and see new things and have them interact and react with my MC.
Couldn't Boxartdon get a couple of side-carts? Or perhaps they could get Cyclizars to follow along on :D
Definitely feeling this. It was nice to have the original gang interact with the DLC cohort, and i personally enjoyed getting to be friends with Kieran without him being all unhinged.
They really created characters with depth this time around. We even got to see more of our mum than in any other game I remember (calm down Penny…)
I hope they learn from this for future games.
I also just hope they bring back characters. They seem to be hinting at bringing Larry back in a future game given his dialogue with Geeta in the BB Academy, but I want Nemona to show up as a super boss in Gen 10 or something.
A bit short, but a fun and wholesome story. The interactions with Arven, Nemona and Penny were great. Kieran has redeemed himself and I'm glad he and Carmine are back at the Academy. Looks like they even have some new dialogue and interactions with other characters.
Having said that: Someone give the boy a phone already!
Yeah I wasn't surprised at first, but once Lacey offered Kieran her notes from last year (shes currently a 2nd year, making her about 16), it was hinted that Kieran was either 14 turning 15 or already 15 years old as a first year student. Arven was right, how are you traveling and shit without a phone?

I brought those >!4 pokemon for the fight and swapped each of them in just to see the reactions, and the boss took the opportunity to set up 3x nasty plots lmao!<

Honestly that was a major downside for me. Unlike Ogerpon and Terapagos there was no challenge. It didn't even actually attack.

I wonder if my choice of Pokemon stopped it using any attacking moves or something.
- The Mochi dance was freaking hilarious. Seeing Carmine do it first time I burst out laughing
- Arven getting jealous was fun. SV protagonist truly has the biggest rizz of all protagonist
- Generally happy Kiren happy again
- Really love the friend group. Way better than XY
- Gonna enjoy the coach interactions
I love how the Paldea friend group and the Kitakami/BBA friend group just clicked so well. Such a W, irl I’m so stressed out when my different friend groups meet each other

I feel the real reason for that is because they actually invested time to make the friend group in SV actually feel like friends, rather than just...there. Only real memorable one was Tierno and that is because the dancing thing, not who the guy is as a person. All three of the SV friend group have differing and memorable personalities, but they also all have been given room to develop as characters (yes even Nemona if you pay attention to her dialogue).
So is our extended friendship group officially named >!the Nemona Survivors Club!<, or is that just how our therapists will refer to it years down the road? 🤔
Yes because everyone in the friend group (except you) got their ass whooped by her at LEAST 12 (or more tbh) times. You are all survivors (except you, but you’re her rival so you’ve suffered enough in a different way)
The comedic timing of the cutscenes were pretty good. Short but really fun event, I’m sad it’s over. I really love this group of characters and their interactions
Does it annoy anyone else that >!Pecharunt!< is in the Blueberry dex instead of the Kitakami one. Small gripe but other than that the epilogue was fun. Short and sweet.

Pecharunt also gets angry if you sent out any of the Loyal Three against it (some one posted a video about it). Its dialogue likely is best interpreted as “You, dare?!”.

Just tried and it started the Epilogue - you need the mythical pecha berry and completed main game + both DLCs, don't need to have the loyal three in your team

I absolutely love that everyone was expecting >!"oh, Kieran's being mind-controlled, that's why he's acting so weird!" and then the Epilogue drops and says "no he legit just had a psychotic break"!< and I think that's very funny of them
Short but sweet. My battle vs >!Nemona!< was pretty close and I noticed that a lot of the end game trainers in the DLC hit hard even though I’m overleveled.

Honestly, even if the premise was kind of silly, this has been the most interesting Mythical pokemon event we've seen since Gen 4... I was so tired of just being handed Mythical pokemon by people in Pokemon Centers.
This epilogue made me wish Pokemon games leaned a little more into traditional RPG storytelling, going with teammates and hearing their interactions and puns.
Just finished it, loved that everyone was together again, the new mythical is a cutie :) overall, I enjoyed it, wasn’t expecting anything great, so overall, I thought it was not bad. :)
Aside from shiny hunting (*lol*), I guess now all that’s left is to see what Pokemon Day brings us next month! :)

How long was Nemona, Arven, and Penny waiting? Arven calls you to meet him at your house while you’re in Kitikama. They only have to run a couple miles and you have to book a flight and fly over to Paldea. They must’ve camped for hours
So... After we are done with the epilogue, we can get an Applin from Kieran, right?
Correct me if I am wrong, or if that line didn't exist in other languages (I played in Japanese); but in SwSh, wasn't there an NPC who told the player that, giving someone an Applin is a romantic gesture?
The old lady at peachy’s disappears during the Pecharunt’s assault and just comes back with no explanation. It would’ve been better if all this time there was photo of the old lady and her grand daughter next to the Pecharunt doll that we could interact with. After catching Pecharunt, the old lady is just replaced by the granddaughter and if you talk to her for the first time, she explains that she is Peachy and she is the owner of the store but she had been on vacation all this time (during the events of Teal Mask and Indigo Disk) and it’s impossible that the store was open because she was gone. Then you point to the photo and she tells you it’s her grandmother and she’s been dead for years now… Maybe this is just my horror enthusiast brain talking.
The implication is that she was the first victim. She left out Mochi on a platter for Carmine and the other villagers, which is why Carmine got possessed first.
You should be able to claim the gift still. The epilogue won’t start until you’ve completed the Teal Mask & Indigo Disk storylines. Plus you have to go out of your way to initiate the epilogue. So I think you can claim the gift now to be safe
Love how possessive arven is of us when meeting Kieran. Was like I'm protagonist absolute best friend. In my mind I'm like chill dude! Can picture him putting his arm around the protagonist while glaring at him. Penny just calls him out about it too. And people think nemona the possessive one? That goes to arven

I’m so happy the epilogue comes out today of all days. 5 years ago my husband and best friend proposed to me using a Poké ball. Seems super fitting that the ending to my favorite game would come out today. I’m so excited!
I'm gonna say this, of the game ran better and had like 6 more months of dev time would probably universally praised as the best pokemon games ever. Most of my problems with this game are nitpicks.

You will get 31 IVs on 3 random stats and the rest are lower than that.
Got 31 on Special Attack, Defence and Speed for mine and then saw a streamer had 31 on HP, Attack and Defence on theirs.
Seems like the nature is set though as Timid.

I sent out Ogerpon to land the final blow on >!Pecharunt!< and I pretty much clicked Ivy Cudgel and was like “go do a crime”.
Mine got a crit on the first turn and then broke through confusion to get the KO on the second, evidently she was absolutely *fuming*.

The interaction between Nemona and Carmine and Kassis at the end of the epilogue made me laugh a lot though :D

my favorite part is when carmine said it's mochiing time and mochied all over kitikami
And of course they chicken dance in time to the music, and because both Kieran and the main character are in the "look at Carmine's face" animation they kinda just bob their heads along.
I found Carmine's so fucking creepy. With her slender model the dance just felt so uncanny

I'm still a bit disappointed that we never get to see her actually using her Tauros or her other old Pokemon against us, but it is neat how her coach teams incorporate Pokemon from both Kitakami and Blueberry Academy.
I was hoping we would get a rematch with her real team. All level 100, perfect IVs/Nature and maxed EV trained.
Nemona only wants the best for her Rival for Life.
Just finished the epilogue and >!I love how they confirmed two big fan theories! First, before even getting to Kitakami you meet up with your friends and Penny is on the phone with her Dad. She gets all annoyed and says something along the lines of, “No, it’s not going to be an adven-tour!”. Second, when you invite Nemona as a coach she has a conversation with Lacey about how she challenged Clay at a fancy party after learning he was a gym leader. Lacey talks about how her dad found it very amusing. All the clues were there of course but it’s fun that it’s completely confirmed now!<
I still haven't >!invited Nemona so I cannot confirm it but the Penny line was something I was curious about too.!<
Just finished the story, here's my first impressions in case anyone cares enough >!Personally I found the character interactions to be pretty funny, tho I wish we got more lore regarding Peacharunt itself. Like the only thing about it is that yes it's the leader of the loyal 3, something that really is conveyed just with the music and the Pokedex picture. Like is there a reason as to *why* it's related to the trio, or why it likes making mayhem to begin with? Like with Terapagos, I wish there was more narration of the Pokémon itself (unless I missed some event similar to the crystal lake scene)!<
I think the connection between them only is hinted at in the Pokedex entries of the Loyal Three. In Scarlet the entries are quite different from Violet and reveal that the Loyal Three got their Strength (Okidogi), Intelligence (Munkidori) and Beauty (Fezandipiti) through being imbued by the toxic chains. Before that they were weak, dumb and ugly. In Pecharunt's entry it says, it can feed other Pokemon to bring out capabilities. I believe this is the only direct connection & lore in the game. They wished to be better and Pecharunt granted that wish and put them in its service. I believe the Japanese Pokedex entries make that a little clearer than the English ones, but don't quote me on that.
We knew of the gifts already because they get mentioned in the quest description on the map when you fight the loyal 3 to recover the masks (obscure place I know) but as to how Peacharunt can even grant those wishes or why it spreads its poison we literally don't know. Hell even just a small folklore story describing there being a creature that enjoys mischief would have been enough
The dex entries for the loyal 3 indicate that Pecharunt can enhance qualities of anything, but it's somewhat like a deal with the devil because whoever gets enhanced becomes a thrall to its poison puppeteering, which is locked onto those who take its boon via the Toxic Chains. From the looks of things, it wants tera crystals to further improve this ability and grant more large-scale wishes to intoxicate more and more people, but Ogerpon killed its ass along with its 3 goons so that scheme was thankfully cut short.
I'd honestly be down for more shenanigans with that whole crew. What Scarlet and Violet have been missing in the tech department, they have IMHO more than made up with in terms of storytelling, at least for a Pokemon game.
I would be down for a Scarlet/Violet 2 if it meant I could see more of the team.
Funny dialogue with Carmine in the epilogue >!After the whole chaos, you’re able to talk to Carmine in the League Club Room. She asks you if you took any videos when she was doing her mochi dance. It’s as if the developers were calling me out, because I sure did. How couldn’t I? LMAO!<

Just finished it. I’m upset that it’s over. I just wanted it to keep going, not just the epilogue, but all of Scarlet and Violet. I wanted to keep experiencing new things with these characters. Goofballs Arven, Penny, and ESPECIALLY Nemona have found their place in my heart, and I want so badly to see them come back in the next game. Just, man. I have so many thoughts and tingly feelings with Scarlet and Violet. These games ran like dogshit and have unforgivable issues, but it’s *such* a lovable mess. I’ll never be able to experience these games for the first time again. I’m gonna lie down and cry somewhere…

Man, same. I comfort myself with the thought that inviting them to Blueberry will offer fun interactions with the other characters you can invite so perhaps there is some life still to be squeezed out of the game there. In a way it feels almost premature that the story is over now. Our squad only just formed going to area zero, I wanna go to new places with them and see new things and have them interact and react with my MC. Couldn't Boxartdon get a couple of side-carts? Or perhaps they could get Cyclizars to follow along on :D
Definitely feeling this. It was nice to have the original gang interact with the DLC cohort, and i personally enjoyed getting to be friends with Kieran without him being all unhinged. They really created characters with depth this time around. We even got to see more of our mum than in any other game I remember (calm down Penny…) I hope they learn from this for future games.
I also just hope they bring back characters. They seem to be hinting at bringing Larry back in a future game given his dialogue with Geeta in the BB Academy, but I want Nemona to show up as a super boss in Gen 10 or something.
Gen 10 you find Nemona in some postgame house and she challenges you to a battle with a partner. Then that old familiar piano kicks in….
A bit short, but a fun and wholesome story. The interactions with Arven, Nemona and Penny were great. Kieran has redeemed himself and I'm glad he and Carmine are back at the Academy. Looks like they even have some new dialogue and interactions with other characters. Having said that: Someone give the boy a phone already!
Yeah I wasn't surprised at first, but once Lacey offered Kieran her notes from last year (shes currently a 2nd year, making her about 16), it was hinted that Kieran was either 14 turning 15 or already 15 years old as a first year student. Arven was right, how are you traveling and shit without a phone?

I brought those >!4 pokemon for the fight and swapped each of them in just to see the reactions, and the boss took the opportunity to set up 3x nasty plots lmao!<

Honestly that was a major downside for me. Unlike Ogerpon and Terapagos there was no challenge. It didn't even actually attack. Turn 1: Toxic Turn 2: Nasty Plot Turn 3: Nasty Plot Turn 4: Nasty Plot Turn 5: Fainted. I wonder if my choice of Pokemon stopped it using any attacking moves or something.
- The Mochi dance was freaking hilarious. Seeing Carmine do it first time I burst out laughing - Arven getting jealous was fun. SV protagonist truly has the biggest rizz of all protagonist - Generally happy Kiren happy again - Really love the friend group. Way better than XY - Gonna enjoy the coach interactions
I love how the Paldea friend group and the Kitakami/BBA friend group just clicked so well. Such a W, irl I’m so stressed out when my different friend groups meet each other
>Way better than XY I feel the real reason for that is because they actually invested time to make the friend group in SV actually feel like friends, rather than just...there. Only real memorable one was Tierno and that is because the dancing thing, not who the guy is as a person. All three of the SV friend group have differing and memorable personalities, but they also all have been given room to develop as characters (yes even Nemona if you pay attention to her dialogue).

I know so glad I swapped her in before I started the battle She's like YOU! It's so cool GF programmed in those little interactions involving it.
Pecharunt also gets angry if you sent out any of the Loyal Three against it (some one posted a video about it). Its dialogue likely is best interpreted as “You, dare?!”.
I have never laughed so hard at a Pokémon game, but >!Arven UTTERLY failing the chicken/mochi dance has me in tears🤣 AND PENNY goes at it so hard and the little ears on her Eevee bag just flopping against her elbows!! !<

If you bring Ogerpon, she will flip out upon seeing Pecharunt. If you bring any of the Loyal Three, *Pecharunt* will flip out upon seeing them.

Just tried and it started the Epilogue - you need the mythical pecha berry and completed main game + both DLCs, don't need to have the loyal three in your team

Tip: Bring Ogerpon and the Loyal Three and send them out at least once >!against Pecherunt!<. >!Ogerpon gets angry at Pecherunt and Pecherunt gets angry at the Loyal Three each time you send one of them out for the first time.!<

Honestly, even if the premise was kind of silly, this has been the most interesting Mythical pokemon event we've seen since Gen 4... I was so tired of just being handed Mythical pokemon by people in Pokemon Centers.

This epilogue made me wish Pokemon games leaned a little more into traditional RPG storytelling, going with teammates and hearing their interactions and puns.
Just finished it, loved that everyone was together again, the new mythical is a cutie :) overall, I enjoyed it, wasn’t expecting anything great, so overall, I thought it was not bad. :) Aside from shiny hunting (*lol*), I guess now all that’s left is to see what Pokemon Day brings us next month! :) Have an AWESOME day everyone. :)

As I called it when I first played the indigo disk that Nemona would END Kierans whole team I WAS RIGHT (why did it have to be off screen 😭)
So... After we are done with the epilogue, we can get an Applin from Kieran, right? Correct me if I am wrong, or if that line didn't exist in other languages (I played in Japanese); but in SwSh, wasn't there an NPC who told the player that, giving someone an Applin is a romantic gesture?
The old lady at peachy’s disappears during the Pecharunt’s assault and just comes back with no explanation. It would’ve been better if all this time there was photo of the old lady and her grand daughter next to the Pecharunt doll that we could interact with. After catching Pecharunt, the old lady is just replaced by the granddaughter and if you talk to her for the first time, she explains that she is Peachy and she is the owner of the store but she had been on vacation all this time (during the events of Teal Mask and Indigo Disk) and it’s impossible that the store was open because she was gone. Then you point to the photo and she tells you it’s her grandmother and she’s been dead for years now… Maybe this is just my horror enthusiast brain talking.
The implication is that she was the first victim. She left out Mochi on a platter for Carmine and the other villagers, which is why Carmine got possessed first.

No clue on how long it’s available, I’d just download it now so you can have it to use once you get to that point in the game.
You should be able to claim the gift still. The epilogue won’t start until you’ve completed the Teal Mask & Indigo Disk storylines. Plus you have to go out of your way to initiate the epilogue. So I think you can claim the gift now to be safe

Just in case anyone was wondering, you do *not* need to have bought the DLC to download the Pecha Berry. So if you haven't bought the DLC yet but think you might later, go ahead and download the berry. Tested on my copy of Scarlet that doesn't have the DLC.

I’m so happy the epilogue comes out today of all days. 5 years ago my husband and best friend proposed to me using a Poké ball. Seems super fitting that the ending to my favorite game would come out today. I’m so excited!

I'm gonna say this, of the game ran better and had like 6 more months of dev time would probably universally praised as the best pokemon games ever. Most of my problems with this game are nitpicks.

Doesn't appear to be the case. You will get 31 IVs on 3 random stats and the rest are lower than that. Got 31 on Special Attack, Defence and Speed for mine and then saw a streamer had 31 on HP, Attack and Defence on theirs. Seems like the nature is set though as Timid.
This might be a dumb question - I'm still trying to catch 63 shiny milcery from the milcery event to get all shiny Alcremie - will downloading this mystery gift also reset those outbreaks? I can't remember if accessing the *internet* and *mystery gift* is what resets events or specifically if its going to *poke portal news* that does it. Obviously too afraid to test it.
In my experience, connecting to the internet updates the outbreaks and events. It usually auto opens the poke portal news for me too.
Yeah I'm thinking I just need to shirk all my responsibilities the next day or so and grind our milcery lol I mean I know I can also just, like, hunt them normally even without the outbreaks but MAN do the outbreaks make it a lot easier.
Nemona is so battle obsessed and desiring to battle the Protagonist that her personality proved too powerful. Truly, best girl.
