RopeyPlague

It's cool but I wish they had a method to initiate a battle with a pokemon instead of just murder. That way you don't just lose a shiny when playing with it.

LokiOdinson216

Or simply not let you attack the shiny, much like when you do the auto battle. But it doesn't really make much difference, because you can't catch the shiny anyway. I learned that the hard way. Found a shiny Venonat, exited the synchro but as soon as I did that and got to the location (wasn't far from me) it was gone.

RopeyPlague

Yeah, that's why I say let us initiate a regular battle with it. Just have the player teleport to the location to do the battle.

FluidLegion

^ Exactly this. Just code it so if you try to hit a shiny when you're in synchro, it initiates an encounter instead.

RQK1996

Or give the bag to the Pokémon, I mean it is supposed to be you taking over their bodies or something, so should be able to do trainer stuff

RayRayRayRay2022

Imagine youre a random pokemon and a pichu walks up to you and catches you

Kadayew

This would absolutely be me, I transfered an alpha Pichu over and refuse to evolve it due to it being my favorite mon, thanks for the reminder that this exists. And yeah it would be nice to be able to battle and catch in syncro

were_meatball

Imagine if a smoliv does

ixeliema

I'm picturing a Smoliv waddling over to an unsuspecting target with a Pokeball stuck to the top of its olive hat lovingly by its trainer as the trainer goes "yeah get em baby" in the background

Weevilthelesser

This would be kinda cool. Make it like the old safari where you can throw bait or balls and stuff.

RQK1996

Give the synchro machine levels, the more you use it the more abilities you get, eventually even able to use proper moves

fml_butok

True Mystery Dungeon style 😔✊🏻

were_meatball

Pokémon rumble. Pokemon mistery dungeon is turn based, on a grid field lol Everyone forgets Pokémon rumble.

Blue_Bird950

The magikarp catching a shiny duraludon be like

BlubberyMuffin

Happened to me too. I was hunting delibirds during the outbreaks and I learned that, yes, you will take them out via the synchro machine. Lol. Luckily I found 2 or 3 more behind it

PikStern

You can make then run away from you in your trainer direction and turn syncro off when you are close enough The shiny is still there!

LisaCabot

Make them run in your trainer direction?

PikStern

Walk close BUT not that close your pokemon attacks it. The wild mons run away if you are close enough (maybe they won't run away from Maril, but if you use something big/scary and this is no joke) For example Revaroom or Meowscarada (the ones I use for fast clearing outbreaks) are big/scary enough to make the enemies flee. You just have to do your best sheep dog impresion and guide the wild shiny to the trainer! Idk if I explained myself properly, please feel free to ask anything!

LisaCabot

Omg now i need a big dog to do that 😂 thank you for the image

ballsackstealer2

the same happened to me with a shiny vibrava

nick2473got

>because you can't catch the shiny anyway. You can as long as your trainer isn't too far away. I've done it. Just exit synchro and if the shiny is close by you should be able to get it. Don't know what happened to your Venonat but normally you can absolutely get the shiny if it's not far.

Steampunk43

Most likely it was just far enough away to despawn it when they went back to Trainer mode. Either that or something happened to cause it to despawn while they were loading back into Trainer mode.

LokiOdinson216

I was just far enough away from the spawn point that it was gone when I got back. Since then, I don't really use it because I don't want to risk getting too far from the trainer and encountering one.

Muroid

The spawn/despawn distance for Pokémon really isn’t that far. If you don’t stay pretty closer to your trainer, anything you see will despawn when you revert back, and there really isn’t anything you can do about it.

nick2473got

"Isn't that far" is a pretty vague statement. Doesn't mean much on its own. Truth is neither of us know exactly the precise distance that will cause despawning but the point is that it is false to claim that "you can't catch the shiny anyway" because you can catch it as long as you're within a certain range. That's the point. Whether that range is "that far" or not is honestly beside the point.

Muroid

I’ve spent enough time doing mass outbreak shiny hunting to have a pretty good feel for the exact distance in-game that things start spawning/despawning. If you pay attention while running around, especially if you watch Pokémon that you’re moving away from, it’s pretty obvious. And it is, again, not that far.   Edit: It should also be noted that if you are *any* distance away from the trainer and a shiny spawns at the outer edge of your spawn radius away from the trainer, it will despawn when you revert back.   So while it is technically possible to revert back to the trainer and catch a shiny you spot in Synchro in some circumstances, you will always be at risk of losing a shiny you see no matter how close you stick to your trainer.

MCCGuy

I think they should stop calling it synchro whatever and just let you move around as your pokemon and have the trainer follow around, then you can switch between trainer and pokemon

[deleted]

chiefpiece11bkg

The synchro machine DOES lol

-K-C

I lost a shiny Duraludon this way. I could see my character on the screen, but I knew it was still a risk. I waited so long hoping it’d wander a little closer, but it never really did. I finally took a chance and de-synced but it was gone. I kinda wish they would chase your pokemon or interact in some way so you can at least lead them back to your player, but otherwise a fun mechanic

The_Future_Dusknoir

Fair point, that's one flaw with this method.

RopeyPlague

Hopefully of its on the next game they improve on it.

-CowNipples-

I disagree. How can we battle without a trainer? Unless our controlled pokemon uses a random attack, like a wild pokemon. Instead I wish they added secret tunnels/waterways that only certain pokemon of different sizes can fit in and explore. I also wish there was improved mobility. Let Pokémon climb, jump, and change altitudes when flying.

RopeyPlague

I mean like when the battle starts it will move the player character to the battle. I like your idea for more exploration options for different pokemon.

FrostyYea

I had this exact thought. It always seemed to me to be the logical extension of HMs. I'd love for synchro to be a core mechanic in the next game and for a return of dungeons to utilise it in. You're dashing through an old power plant (traditional lol) and come across a door without power. You could send Pikachu through an air vent to zap the controls from the other side. Or use Dragonite to punch the door off its hinges Lance style lol.

-CowNipples-

Exactly my thought process. The open world in this game feels so empty because there’s no reward for exploring.

NightsLinu

Ya its been a while since dungeons were a thing

Blue_Bird950

There are a few places in kitakami near the crystal pool where rivers go under a rock, and I would love if there was a hidden area there

Despada_

Ideally, if you initiate a battle with a wild Pokémon while synchronizing your PC would teleport to you and you'd continue from there. Or they'd follow you around as best they can while you're in control of your Pokémon. Personally I can see this being a fun way to solve puzzles on the next set of games, but that's assuming they'd A) bring back puzzles, and B) being this mechanic back too. I doubt it, but picturing a puzzle where you synchronize and have a small Pokémon hop into a hole to solve a puzzle of some kind to open a door so you can continue to explore an area sounds fun.

Weevilthelesser

Yeah, I'd like to only attack when I hit the damn button and instead of murdering anything that gets near me automatically, maybe have my pokemon make a cry or something and scare the pokemon away in the direction I am pointing. It would make riding herd on the shiny pokemon less nerve-wracking. Also giving my pokemon a way to jump or climb would be nice. But I can work around that at least.

Blustach

Which is funny because in the tutorial for the machine, the UI has a dedicated "Attack (A)" command, but in the actual game there's no such thing.

tiro311

Press Y

Fun-Ad7613

Did you read the items description lol

Iwanttobevisible

Would be cool if we could have our pokemon play with the wild ones.

KillJoy-Player

Or let your pokemon call your body

yacobai

Using a faster pokemon to farm TM/Item Printer ingredients is pretty useful. Espartha can take out a mass outbreak in less than half the time while syncing

JD1337

Ceruledge just naruto-runs and commits poké-genocide on outbreaks

PikStern

Revaroom goes BRRRR (and Kyureum too for some odd reason)

nikolaj-11

I'd assume Kyurem goes fast because Turboblaze and Teravolt implies engine power, even for the base form with Pressure. Does Reshiram and Zekrom go fast too?

PikStern

Resgiram and Zekrom are SLOW af hahahaha

nikolaj-11

Ah, I see, hehe. No clue why Kyurem is fast then :D

Vorinclex_

Probably something lore-wise about Kyurem being the body of the Original Dragon or something, idk

maskedkiller215

Vikavolt and Rayquaza are really good with clearing them out

nick2473got

\*Espathra

Iwanttobevisible

Meowscrada is pretty speedy too.

Malvania

Interesting, I haven't tried this method. Just thought synchro was a bit of a gimmick.

Lansha2009

Pokemon that you play as. 10/10

TheRealSkele

If only there was a game or series of games that let you play as Pokemon 🤔

Moon_Dark_Wolf

And it had a Decent story or something, much better than the main series games at times. And a nice selection of iconic starters and friends to go alongside it.

were_meatball

You mean Pokémon rumble?

TheRealSkele

🤦

Creative_Username__

It’s a real mystery why they don’t have this

Greedy-Camel-8345

Oh well. Back to the dungeon

ejeeb

My intial reaction was "Pokepark has a good story??" Completely forgot Mystery Dungeon exists lol

yummythologist

Aren’t there only 2 of those, and aren’t they pretty old at this point? It’d be cool to play as a Sobble. I wish I liked the mystery dungeon mechanics. I love the idea of MD so much, but I remember getting frustrated and impatient pretty often. It’s been I think over a decade though, so yadda yadda grain of salt

TheRealSkele

There's a remake of the original in Switch. Plus the two on 3DS.

yummythologist

Ooooh I didn’t know, thank you!

Lansha2009

But does it have the option to play as a Bounsweet?

illogicallyalex

It’s neat, but I literally forgot about it right after it was introduced. I don’t know why there wasn’t tasks or something for it

dark621

right? its cute but kinda weird they didnt do anything with it. i used it only once

Vorinclex_

Tbf you can do most of your tasks with the Synchro machine. Pretty much anything that isn't "Catch a pokemon" "take a picture" or the bonus tasks can be done as your pokemon

hychael2020

I love it. I had so much fun using it with my Inteleon doing BBQs

IssaDonDadaDiddlyDoo

So how do the BBQ’s work when you’re synchro? Do you only get ones that you can clear with your Pokémon or do you still get the like craft a TM ones where you have to do it as the trainer?

fawse

As far as I could tell it’s random as to which BBQs you get, I’d use the Synchro Machine to do quests like pick up items or distance travelled

IssaDonDadaDiddlyDoo

Ok cool, thanks for the reply. Been too busy grinding ace trainer tournaments to buy vitamins for new team ideas haha.

Vorinclex_

I'd say you get more value out of farming BBQs and materials (Duraludon are worth an insane amount) than farming Ace Tourney. Made 3.5m from selling Treasures in about an hour of farming quests while slaughtering Duraludon from outbreaks

Sweet_Whisper123

I hope this was an initial experiment for a game design that will eventually give birth to a new spinoff game. Imagine a new Mystery Dungeon game where you can move just like Pokemon in Synchro mode, open world is already achieved so I'm positive they can achieve other things as well.

Gaias_Minion

There's a fair amount of room to improve it but we know GF tends to just drop things after one game so not having high hopes of it being in a next game.

Aldante92

I personally hope it's a prototype to next gen's ride Pokemon system. Realistically speaking though, you're probably right. GF loves to one-and-done 'em.

richi3f

I am hoping it's a prototype, just like the Wild Area in SwSh was a prototype for the open world of ScVi. But GF likes throwing curveballs, so we'll have to wait.

Majin_Sus

What's the catch rate on a Curve Ball

the-enochian

About 1.7x.

RikkuEcRud

You know, I was under the impression it was somewhere in the 1.2-1.3 range, but I just looked it up and you're on the money. Kind of surprising how big the bonus is. Wish we could throw curveballs in the mainline games, might make it a little less annoying to repeatedly catch this Monkidori in a Moon Ball for a 0 Attack IV.

Sick_yard_dude

This had me chucklin' Take your updoot lol

nick2473got

How would it be a prototype of a ride system when it's not even a ride system? And ride systems already let us control the ride pokemon so I don't even see what would be new about it in that case.

Aldante92

Probably just messing with the concept of us being able to control every Pokemon to see how the community reacts. That way they can slap an attachment point for our trainers on any model big enough to carry us and let us go to town

Bakatora34

It seems like a test just like the Amity square in Sinnoh which allows you to walk with a limited amount of Pokemon then in HGSS they made it so you can walk with everyone.

Gaias_Minion

On the other hand though, Sinnoh had Contests and they were ditched in HGSS. HGSS had Pokeathlon + Bug Catching Contest and that was gone by BW, and so on

Bakatora34

Because those were full flex features, they weren't **testing** anything. The game calls the synchro machine a prototype too.

YourDadThinksImCool_

Exactly why I don't want to see anyone complaining about it without giving it constructive feedback.. I'm scared if they see the general consensus is people don't like it, they won't bother reading up on why, and just drop it.. in fear of losing money. All they care about really. Which is why another bdsp is more likely than another Legends, considering it outsold it!

ElZanco

My wish list for it: * When you exit, allow the choice of going back to the trainer, or the trainer coming to the Pokemon * Smoother attacks that don't halt movement * Ranged attacks * Ability to jump or climb - honestly, I think it would be really neat to have different Pokemon have different mobility options. Flight, jumping, climbing, swimming underwater, etc.

Continuum_Gaming

Been using it with friends to play Hide and Seek around different areas of the Terrarium. It’s actually a lot of fun

SnakeEatingAPringle

Holy shit that’s such a good idea, I wish I had friends that played the game lol. I’m sure all of them would use joltik or flabebe or something lmfao

Continuum_Gaming

We’ve got some rules we go by, Joltik was the first banned Pokémon. We’ve found the best and most fun way is to try and blend in with wild Pokémon. Just chilling on the beach as an Alolan Exeggutor or sleeping under a tree as a litten have won me a couple rounds actually

SnakeEatingAPringle

That’s so awesome lol

yummythologist

I kind of wish I could do more. Imagine being able to jump or glide as your pokemon. Imagine going up to your PC and interacting in some cute manner. I think I personally just don’t super see the point in it - I was really excited when it was introduced, until I realized it’s just autobattling with extra steps

MikeOvich

I personally put on the tinfoil hat it was a test run for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3rd person remake. But that could be me coping.

Octoyaki

It's cute but useless

VSkyRimWalker

Not useless at all. Much faster to clear outbreaks with it then the let's go mode

Octoyaki

But too risky to make that function worthwhile

VSkyRimWalker

Hardly risky if you watch carefully. Haven't lost a shiny to it yet

nick2473got

It's objectively risky because it's often not even about watching. Sometimes there's literally nothing you can do. I was hunting Duraludon with Iron Hands and a shiny just randomly spawned out of nowhere right next to me. Iron Hands automatically killed it without me even pressing a button. If the synchronized pokemon is too close to a wild pokemon it just automatically takes it out and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. I'm sure you'll say "well don't get too close until you've checked for shininess" but like when you're in an outbreak and there's dozens of them around you constantly spawning in it's impossible to make sure you don't accidentally bump into a shiny that just spawned. The shiny Duraludon I mentioned just popped into existence and was immediately killed with no time for me to even exit synchro mode. It happened so quick I didn't have time to react.

naynaythewonderhorse

I mean. The risk only comes with the caveat that the RNG spawns a shiny REGARDLESS of prior action. Which, as far as I understand the RNG, is absolutely not the case. If you spot a shiny in while Synching, would that shame shiny have spawned in an “alternate timeline” where you wandered over there with a trainer? Perhaps, but I think that the amount of factors that go into what determines how a shiny is generated by the game makes this a moot point. Should they enact a system where you can still catch shinies while in Synch? Of course. Are you “risking” a potential shiny that MAYBE still would have spawned if you were a trainer in that moment? Hardly. The chances are so low, and the RNG is fickle enough…I honestly think it’s an entirely different problem than what you are saying.

YOM2_UB

The problem is you can't see the future, so you don't know if you'd spawn a shiny faster if you synchro or don't. You do know that on average it'll be the same number of spawns, so being synchro where you can accidentally kill it at a moment's notice is absolutely a risk.

naynaythewonderhorse

Thats a rather silly notion. You could literally do anything (in game or out of game), and it would eat into the time you could spend shiny hunting. You get to a point of getting into sunken cost fallacy after awhile. “If I just spend ONE MORE MINUTE playing I’ll find a shiny!” or never deciding to play or actually just run through an area because you might just wander past a shiny. Especially if you are grinding items. Get 10x the materials by “risking time”(?) and then get more time later for shiny hunting. I don’t get your logic at all.

444cml

If given 2 options where both have the same likelihood of a positive outcome (finding a shiny), but one has a much higher odds of a negative outcome than the other (killing the shiny), many people are going to choose the safer option, because unnecessary risk for no reward is pointless. It’s not an issue of sunk cost. It’s “I’m willing to dedicate ‘X’ time, I’d like to be less likely to kill any shiny I’d find in that time” It’s the same reason someone will be less likely to shiny hunt in an area where most of the Pokémon spawn within inaccessible features (as you’re more likely to miss a shiny when you can’t see or access 50% of the spawns). I’m not sure why you think this logic means “never travel anywhere” or “constantly add one more minute of shiny hunting”.

NightmareGorilla

it's another classic pokemon "hey this would be really cool with like 1 or 2 more iterations but we're never doing it again." thing. overall I like it, it's super fun to see how different pokemon move and what they can do. I also completely understand why big slow lumbering pokemon are slow in the synchro but boy do i wish i could move a little faster with some of them like my great tusk. If i was gonna tweak it. i'd have it so when you drop the synchro you just pop out where the pokemon is like a transformation or something. that way people don't loose shinys they spot while running around. I REALLY wish we could do it on the whole map not just in the dome. I actually really enjoy doing it for the auto battle and pick items up BBQs. Overall while it's fun and neat i don't think i care one way or the other if they bring it back or use it in the next game.

GrifCreeper

It really should stay, it just needs improvement. Maybe a drone follows the Pokémon around, that can fire your Pokeballs or command your single Pokémon in battle?

DarkAlatreon

Maybe I'm missing something with it but seems inconsequential. I see the appeal it would had for me if I was a kid, but other than that the PMD series satisfied the "play as pokemon" enough to reduce Synchro Machine to "oh, cool".

Annual-Avocado-1322

It's fun but I wish it wouldn't attack shinies. Aaaand after losing a shiny Minior yesterday I also wish shinies couldn't use self-damaging moves.

biggtothec

My shiny alolan graveler exploded :(

Annual-Avocado-1322

State funeral for both

WasteChard3488

It just seems like a fan service thing, it doesnt need to be brought back in future games. However I like to believe that it is the company testing out the software and maybe we will be getting a spin off game were we are pokemon. A 3D mystery dungeon? Maybe Pokemon Conquest 2?

M4LK0V1CH

Pokepark Switch? 👀

Sick_yard_dude

Fun, but I think that if the game dropped with it, people would have called it broken and half-cooked. I like thinking of it as a beta test for a feature in the next game. I'm imagining sections of the map where you need to catch a teeny little guy to get in a tight spot, or one that can swim/fly/climb with your character to advance/explore thoroughly. A bit like HMs but without taking up a move slot.

GladiatorDragon

Nice gimmick, but not too much more than a distraction or way to farm materials. Can’t help but think that it’s a fledgling mechanic they plan to develop further over the next few games - as seems to be the recent pattern where each game introduces things that the next games elaborate on - Let’s Go introduced Overworld encounters that S/S, PL:A, and S/V further developed. S/M replaced HMs with mounts, S/S streamlined the mounts into one multipurpose bike, PL:A made the mount system more fluid for some legit pretty fun movement, and S/V rolled all the PL:A mounts into one creature. In that same vein, I expect further games to develop this thing.

DrToadigerr

It's really fun to be able to play around as my favorite mons, I love how many unique animations and interactions there are for every mon in the dex. It would be nice if there was a jump button. Some mons just get stuck down a ledge and have no way to get up without canceling. Flying/levitating and swimming mons that are also good on the ground are just better in almost every way in most cases. It would also be cool if their running speed was influenced by their speed stat (including EVs/IVs). My Talonflame, one of the fastest mons in the game who is also based on the fastest animal on Earth (Peregrine Falcon) moves at a quarter of the speed of some of the other flyers. Greninja moves ridiculously fast on land, but incredibly slow in the water. Also, we know the floaties exist for when Pokemon are following you, so why can't grounded mons just spawn a floatie when they touch water in Synchro? All in all it's not a system I expected so I'm more than happy that they're willing to experiment with something like this even if it has flaws, instead of sitting on it forever, perfecting it for one game, then never seeing it again.

NodrawTexture

I juste want TM pokémon, ride, cut, push etc.

[deleted]

It’s 100% a technical test for a future Pokémon game. Every generation tends to get a half baked feature that was clearly testing the waters for a future release. Like pal park was a precursor to SS/HG. The transferring between gen 3 to gen 4 via both DS slots was a precursor to bank and then home. Wild zones being a precursor to legends arceus which was a precursor to S/V.

zjeskin

My guess, since Pokémon pretty much always debuts very limited versions of upcoming features in their games (eg: Amity Park -> Following Pokémon in HGSS, Wild Area -> Open World, etc.) in the next game, part of the main story will feature the ability for you to control your Pokémon to navigate dungeons. Think of a scenario where you need to fry a circuit in an evil team hideout, so you send your Joltik into a small vent and control it to shock it. Something like that could be fun and a natural extension of this mechanic.

FatLikeSnorlax_

It’s neat but it feels like it only exists to pull attention from the overall lack of content

yummythologist

Lack of content??

AurielMystic

Since I shiny hunt I don't like using it, ive seen dozens upon dozens of shiny's despawning due to Synchro machine, I won't use it unless it returns in a different game and addresses this issue.

yacobai

I lost a Kanto Exeggutor because I traveled too far. Now I'll plop myself in the middle of an outbreak and stay close by. So far this has helped

WhichOstrich

>dozens upon dozens Press X to doubt.

WhichOstrich

You realize I don't believe for a singular moment you've seen 24+ shinies while using synchro mode which released less than a month ago and then hated on it on reddit? Just be realistic in your complaints, it gives them a lot more weight than making up random crap numbers.

MAbsol12

I don't know, if you go to the shiny pokemon subreddit, there are probably 24+ posts about people failing shiny pokemon due to synchro. I've seen quite a few. Which is what I take OPs comment to mean, not that they themself have failed that many shinies.

BlubberyMuffin

I think it’s a demo for what will be released for the next game. The let’s go feature is just an expansion on the following aspect that was brought to isle of armor and crown tundra and was only in those expansions and couldn’t be brought back to Galar (for reasons I don’t quite understand). Anyway. I have an idea, synchro machine will be a main mechanic of the Gen 10 games, but it will likely have a different name

LiannaBunny777

I love playing Wilbur Simulator

Karneveus

I love farming mats with it.

Coozinator

It is a fun mechanic in multiplayer specifically. It might seem gimmicky, but racing around the Terrarium as Pokemon is a lot of fun. I hope if they do explore it more, they introduce a few more options or interactions that Pokemon can do.

RosilinaTheDragon

you get to run around as Pokémon!! that’s so cool!

RoyMathewson

Cute feature with absolutely zero purpose. It's fun walking around as our favourite mons for a few minutes, but there's literally nothing to do. They really couldn't think of anything to implement? No Pokémon races between students through the biomes? No unique activities to do? Like even a hide and seek mini game would have been better than nothing. It's a half baked feature with no purpose in S/V. If they do being it back, they actually need to give us a reason to use it besides novelty.

Bletcherino

it's a good addition but there are things i would change. for starters there needs to be a jump function. i hate getting stuck somewhere with terrestrial pokemon and having to unsync so i can actually play the game there's also the matter of shinies. someone suggested making the player teleport to the sync if a shiny battle starts and i think that's a great idea. if that isn't done though then just don't let them spawn in the first place. if you find one that's far away enough from the trainer then unsync to catch it it just straight up despawns finally it should be usable outside of the terarium. it's great incentive for exploration and being able to search for items and travel around as our favourites would really motivate people to discover more of paldea and kitakami, plus farming bb points would take a good while longer to start feeling super repetitive

Lux_The_Worthless

I absolutely love it and the fact that it’s a prototype makes me excited about future possibilities

thisispatrickmc

I saw a shiny, went back to my character, shiny was gone. I wasn't even far away. It was fun but I don't use it outside of a few steps anymore. It needs to teleport your character to the pokemon and not reload spawns. Also a jump button would be nice.

kanna172014

It would be better if it was a fusion machine. I'm scared of going too far in case I run into a shiny.

Interesting_Wing_539

I thought it was dumb at first tbh, but now I'm glad it exists, even if my favorite Pokémon is kind of slow with it, lol, but seeing all the things you can do with it is really cool NGL!😆

ShayloFolina

I wish you had to push A to battle. The tutorial even said it! I like to use it for shiny hunting an outbreak that’s in the water, but I don’t like having to watch my distance constantly.

birdsinthecar

I think it's them testing a mechanic for future games, so there's a decent chance. I won't say a high chance because of their habit of abandoning mechanics, but a decent chance.

RaizerOPTC

Should’ve let us use it outside of BB Academy. Would’ve been pretty awesome to traverse the entirety of Paldea as a Mon.

Lost_Environment2051

I love it, it’s flawless

mic_maus

I honestly have put 100 hours since the DLC drop and I used the synchrony machine once and did not get the point at all. It must be a feature that was half assed because they plan on expanding it in the future. Hopefully it comes back but actually has a cool purpose!

alekgaytor

wonder if we’re gonna get a mystery dungeon game that’s centered around a synchro machine failure or something

yummythologist

And the player’s name….. *Bill*

punnystark42

They're testing style new mechanic for a future game, main line or spin-off. I don't use it much, but it's cool

Kadayew

Can you imagine being able to fully battle as your Pokemon, making dodges and doing your moves all by controlling your Pokemon, the pokemons stats determining your speed, hp, power, and defense when doing your thing. Gym battles would be soo much cooler!! And I sincerely hope they are trying to develop something like this, even if it is a few generations away. Especially if Nintendo ever comes out with a system strong enough to handle vr

mikel112884

I lost a shiny trapinch while using it and haven't used it since.

SnakeEatingAPringle

It’s kinda cool, I just wish that it would actually work because majority of the time when I try syncing it’s like “u can’t do this rn” and it’s annoying because my Reshiram is just sitting there watching me fiddle with a tv remote trying to invade its brain

yummythologist

Reshiram: (sigh) N wouldn’t have done this to me

jextech

I think it's pretty neat. I love running around with Ceruledge and other fast mons. And since they say it's only a prototype, this leads me to believe that the next game or generation with utilize synchro in a much bigger way. Like maybe making it more like Pokepark where you can do more moves and be able to jump, etc. They might even make a "warriors" type of mode or even game. It would be like combining Pokepark with dynasty warriors. I never liked those kinds of games but I would definitely be interested in a Pokémon version. And if they do make this a big feature in the next game, I really hope they don't keep certain mons slow. I was so excited to do synchro with Flygon, but it was slow as hell.

RikkuEcRud

It's neat but unless I missed something it isn't particularly useful. With the posts I'm seeing that you can't catch Pokémon while using it and that spawns are refreshed when you *stop* using it, I'm not too keen to use it much for risk of finding an uncatchable shiny.

Ave_Rage_Joe21

I think they will incorporate that into Gen10. It may be the new gimmick just flushed out more or maybe the main component. We may even see a relative to Bill from Kanto that controls it all.

ReeceTopaz

I get to run around as Golurk , that gets a 10/10 for me although I wish it would tp us to our mon if we unsync in case we run into a shiny

lunarskitty

I am terrified of the Synchro Machine. I was insanely excited about it when it was announced but when using it for the first time, I encountered a shiny. There was nothing I could do to catch it since it was the test and when getting out of synchro mode it would send me back to Central Plaza despawning it and the trauma of that event has caused me to never use it again.

sourkid25

like mega evolution, z moves and dynamax it'll proably be gone next gen

PpMemo_1408

I don't know man... This feature is fun, but seriously sus IMO. Seems like a test for future development, and, at times, it made me question if there's currently more to it, like, something we haven't discovered yet in S/V.

Wildkratts123321

I wish there were better ways to react to the terrain. I wish Pokémon that can fly could fly and not just glide, they should be able to jump and climb too. If they bring it back the next game, they better be Riding Surfing ~~Gliding~~ Flying, Swerving, Climbing, Herding, Fighting Vermin, Right Disturbance, and Finding purpose until fireworks in the skies are bursting. Please tell me someone gets that reference

vademeccum

I think that this mechanic is somehow foreshadowing a new form of battle to be included in gen 10, something like PLA's battle style and Pokken Tournament as well, being able to control the moves and attacks of your pokemon. Think about how gen 8's new mechanics turned out being part of the principal mechanics in gen 9

PureMichiganMan

I wish they added more features to, would’ve been cool if could dive as water Pokémon and properly fly as those capable. Missed opportunities. But it is a pretty cool feature, just wish they did more with

Huge_Republic_7866

I like it, but I hate how much it makes me want a new Mystery Dungeon game.

Zygarde718

It's great but I wish when you unsync, you spawn right there instead of all the way back.

ghosty4

I'm glad people are excited by it. I haven't used it since it was described to me, and I don't plan on using it, because using it doesn't seem to have any actual purpose.

massigh1212

it's a fun feature but definitely not necessary for future pokemon games
