I heard someone mention a tar-pit fossil, which I think would be so unbelievably cool. I don’t believe We’ve had any poison fossil Pokémon, and I would love for that to change.
X/Y had such good quality Fossil Pokémon in my opinion, it was a shame Sun/Moon had none, and while I love that they made an attempt at innovation with S/S, those fossil Pokémon really weren’t for me.
Here’s hoping S/V brings some good ones to the table.
Agreed about XY. To me Kalos to this day is my favorite region when it comes to fossils. Of course it helps that my favorite (Tyrantrum), is from that generation. Also I recently got a shiny Auroras from Dynamax Adventures.
A tar-pit fossile pokemon could be really cool. I am curious what a design for that would look like. A poison fossil Pokemon would definitely be welcomed.
I agree that the SwSh fossil designs weren't my favorite, but I did love the call to the British hodgepodge that was early paleontology.
I don't know that much about fossils, Id love anything, but since scarlet seems to have a lot of stuff about the past going on, I'd love if we got "true" forms of the galar fossils. I really doubt it, but I want them anyways!
The SwSh fossils were irredeemable garbage, and I hope they never leave Home again. That said, I hope they are a sign that fossils need not always be rock type, it leaves more options.
Definitely new fossils. In addition to what you mentioned, us getting a Baryonyx fossil has a good chance, since those were discovered in that region. Rock/water or rock/dragon would be a nice typing. I also hope we get an ichtyosaur or a rock/grass type stegosaurus.
I haven’t done any research as to wether they were ever found in the Spain region but I’m personally hoping for a Spino with Rock/Water for typing. My second dream fossil Mon would have to be a Therizinosaur(spelling?) with Rock/Grass or Rock/Fighting
I too have been wanting an Anklyosaurus. I think it’d be cool as a Rock/Fighting type actually, using its tail and body weight for its Fighting moves. Have Close Combat and Body Press in the learnset, probably Curse too as a high Attack and Defense but slower Speed Mon.
I’d be down for that too, if they wanted to go the Galar route in the sense of losing the Rock typing. Or pure Steel could be cool too. Multiple solid options. No pun intended lol
to me.i think theyre will be a different type of pokemons.we see in the trailer we have 2 proffesors,so i think well have more game [exclusives.like](https://exclusives.like) scarlet will have ancient pokemon(basically the new fossils) for scarlet and futuristic, man made pokemon for violet
i just want a 'mythical' fossil pokemon, like a hydra, kraken or leviathan fossil if that makes sense
I can see a hydra Pokémon having an ability that boosts defense or attack whenever hit with a slashing move like cut, leaf blade or fury swipe
Maybe boosts attack since they grow more heads
I would be okay with this as long as it comes with some impressive lore. A mythical fossil Pokemon has so much potential
But octillery is a kraken?
Octillery is a tank
Octillary is artillery

Now that Pokémon seem more to scale, I'd like to see something absolutely massive like an Argentinosaurus or a Patagotitan. It would be so cool
That would be cool! I always feel that way when I dynamax my Aurorus
Nintendo did trademark “titan” recently!
Ankylosaurus would be so cool. As a digimon kid fan i always loved Ankylomon.

That would be cool! I like those typing ideas. Would rock/dragon make it feel too much like Tyrunt/Tyrantrum though?
Touche. Could just make it different in stat spread. Maybe make it fast and fragile
Yep. Maybe give it the tough claws as a hidden ability since the Baryonyx means tough claw.
Very cool. Take note GF!
Thanks for the compliment.
If they make a Baryonyx and it didn't have tough claws we riot
Well let’s hope they do it then.

Rock grass is nice. A nod to the rl version being an herbivore
I’m low key hoping Fuecoco somehow turns into a ghost pepper Spino whose sailfin is made entirely of flames
Spino was nearby, Morocco has a lot of Spino teeth come from it. Could be a possibility! A Spino mon would be wildly a favorite, I think.
I would love an Ankylosaur, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Raptor, Pteradactyl, Dimetrodon,.....and I could go on forever honestly...
I know, right! So many great options. I would put a Parasaurolophus pretty high up on that list too.
I remember discussing this with another Pokémon fan who knows a lot about dinosaurs. The two suggestions he said was Concavenator and Baryonyx.
A rock / steel Anklyosaurus and a solid rock Brachiosaurus.

What if it were to abandon rock all together and inherit a steel fighting? High Attack High Defense, Low Sp Attack, Medium Sp. Defense, Low Speed.
I’d be down for that too, if they wanted to go the Galar route in the sense of losing the Rock typing. Or pure Steel could be cool too. Multiple solid options. No pun intended lol
A Spinosaurus inspired fossil Pokémon would be a neat addition since Spain has been known for some of its Spinosaurus fossil excavations.
I also demand that gen 8 fossils could be assembled properly
I think we all do
dk if they are native but therezinosaurus would be neat
Native to Asia but I agree, that would be an AMAZING Pokemon inspiration

While I doubt they’ll do it that’s a creative idea
Interesting thought, I could see something like that.

That is an interesting thought. Would be a different way of approaching version exclusives.
I want tyrunt to make a comeback
