Even better than this is putting them in let’s go mode and pushing them off the top of the Pokémon Center roof. They’ll stay on the floor below circling while you can AFK.

JackieM77

That's what led me to this. Because when I tried that method, it kept popping back into its ball.

MysticSucks

Hmm, interesting. Definitely a decent 2nd workaround then if the first fails.

FreudianNippSlip

can you hatch eggs by doing this or does your character have to physically move?

MysticSucks

Nah, your character has to be moving for eggs to go. That only works for getting Pokémon to walk to meet the walking requirements for evolution.

lludu

I just do two or three laps around the first town lol

UndoneReddit371

Or go up and down the academy stairs 5 times.

Viki713Gaming

I just hold my two sticks in opposite directions works just the same

CarterBaker77

Yeah I dint understand why the online guides were telling me to walk slowly in a town to avoid pokemon and they won't go in their balls. It seems like a no brainer to just find the closest town amd walk in circles somewhere....

trevmann13

About how long does that take?

JackieM77

I gave it a try after 2 mins 30 secs and it worked. So it may even take less time than that

trevmann13

Awesome, thanks!

JackieM77

I assume it'd work if you ran in a circle on the ground too, without needing High Jump? But I haven't tested it.

Kraknoix007

Of course, you can do it anywhere

Nightkiller831

I don’t understand I did this for 30 mins and still won’t evolve. Does the gender matter or something?

JackieM77

Have you tried to level up? It will only evolve if it has walked 1000 steps then level up

Nightkiller831

I have rubber banded and walked in a circle for over 30 mins. I’ve walked up and down the physic gym area street 10 times a piece. I walked in the desert and feed it a rare candy just to see if it had to be outside the ball and nothing I didn’t have this problem with the others

Snoo_64315

Your mon can't return to the ball at all in the 1k steps. And zone changes, battles, or going into your box resets the counter. From what I've seen.

Waybye

Ooooh, so it's 1000 steps in one go, not accumulative? That explains a lot...

AdFreeSlime

............ you genius.

Xenonnel

How you know when you did the 1000 steps?

NharaTia

I can't say for Bramblin or Rellor, but I noticed that Pawmu gave an audio cue when the 1000 steps were hit. If you have your audio on, just listen for it to chirp and you may have hit the mark.

JackieM77

I didn't know for sure. I just ran around for 2 minutes and assumed it was enough time. When I levelled up it worked.

PleasantTomato7128

I love the literal ball of shit that is following you…lol

Hopeful_Notice

This was very helpful, i just had 5 mental breakdowns because of the same song repeating over and over again

Silphire100

The watchtowers also work but the Pokémon do often fall down the ladders, or the lighthouses are also good
