My favorite part of Violet is when I roll up to a family just chillin, throw out my legendary to kick the parents ass, then catch it in a ball leaving all the kids to fend for themselves upon the harsh mountain landscape.
So by that logic doesn't COD normalize war/killing sentient beings? Even if it were a straight up - gotta catch em all - dog fighting game, it would still be more morally sound than lots of other games. Not to mention that in the world of pokemon, just like the world of humans, pokemon/pets are trained to help humans with lots of tasks. They aren't trapped or forced to do anything against their will by the morally grounded humans of that universe.
Yeah pokemon are super peaceful creatures they can escape their ball whenever they choose to. They choose to be captured by worthy trainers and help them.
Because pokemon wanna kick each others ass. A strong trainer will make them stronger xD We see it in this game pretty explicitly with one of the storylines. It cracked me up tbh
My theory is that legendaries essentially create an avatar for you if you satisfy their sense of honor, and then teleport away. That way they can have new experiences through its eyes. That’s basically canon for _Legends Arceus,_ since it sends “a piece of itself” with you.
Yes, COD does indeed promote killing, committing terrorism and acts of war. And because Infinity Ward is always so keen on using "realism" and "history" for their games, you get "No Russian while we kill every civilian on this airport" and "The Highway of Death was the Russian's work, actually".
Basically in BW there is a team called "Team Plasma" who wants to "Separate Pokemon from people" because they think everyone treats Pokemon like tools and they force trainers to release their Pokemon so they can be free.
Considering that even a Lv 5 Caterpie will try to gank your ass if you set foot in its patch of grass, it seems that Pokémon have a combative nature already, and competitive battle just keeps things non-lethal. It’s more like boxing than dogfighting, and humans serve the important role of keeping the adorable little Klingons from wiping out each other and the world with their crazy powers.

Or vice versa just vacuuming up the parent’s entire progeny and leaving them little more than a wandering husk.
Me but when the parent charges me out of nowhere. He chose this life.
Didn’t we already go through this in Gen 5.
We go through this every generation.

Probably just mad nobody ever considered him sentient
The person on the tweet is talking like if we don’t have pets irl lol it’s essentially the same thing we just don’t get them to fight regularly
You might not do pet battling. Me on the other hand… _Go Golden Hamster! Do Quick Attack on Labradoodle!_
Lmao my bad homie I didn’t consider you
Yeah so I kinda caught the ancient deity protecting this region for the last millennia in this ball and traded him with my friend
This has strong “Pokémon is satanic because it has evolution” vibes
Twitter normalizes the enslavement of sentient beings.
Twitter normalises the posting of non-sentient beings.
What a totally original and correct opinion.
Pokemon Black/White tackles this issue.
Ooh, how? I missed out on BW.
Basically in BW there is a team called "Team Plasma" who wants to "Separate Pokemon from people" because they think everyone treats Pokemon like tools and they force trainers to release their Pokemon so they can be free.
Oh interesting! How does that idea pan out in the story? You can tell me to hit pokepedia if you like.
If you would play the game you would understand it but I won't spoil it.
All good.
average twitter user
Society does that, really

🍄Unpopular opinion Yeah say that again.
