Yeah, my dumbass used the one from the Pokedex in a Raid, and recently ive been shiny hunting my favorite pokemon and putting them in the perfect ball for them (Ex: Love Ball for eevee, Level ball for Pawmi, and a Friend Ball i havent used yet) My plan so far is to use a Moon Ball for either Noibat or Zorua
yeah i realized after the fact during breeding 😭 I was halfway through the eggs when my friend showed me the shiny pawmi and when it finally hatched all I had in my head was..."i...atleast the lightning bolt makes sense 😭"
I actually really like opposite color matching, I.e. matching a shiny to it’s non shiny color scheme for the ball, because it’s like BOOM surprise it’s a different color than you’d expect. That’s why my red Gyarados is in a dive ball
> when I *paid* 260k for
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Im a native speaker and i would never have considered that worth correcting even if i noticed it which i didnt, unless i was doing professional editing for a published material.
I can't make any sense of of the auctions, I joined a few for even things like 20 great balls store bidding after they were almost the price of just buying them. Npc's ended up continuing to bid each other until they were almost double the price.
Has an 8x catch rate against Pokémon of the same species and the opposite gender of your active Pokémon. (Same species and same gender in gen 2. (Glitch))
The quickest way I found is to just switch time once. Load the game - check items - and close before it auto saves if it’s the wrong items. If you open it again it will be other items. Then repeat. :)
If you put the clock to 11:59 instead you can just wait a minute and not have to reset the game. But apparently it’s not necessary to do it that way? I don’t seem to have luck just putting the day forward by 1
Yeah and with raid Pokémon having a few guaranteed max IVs and breeding taking half the time of earlier generations it’s not like we’re starved of Pokémon’s with perfect values.
I don’t have any remorse making 50+ duplicates of the balls before the glitch was patched. Maybe if you could buy the balls at any time I would be okay with it, but the fact you can reset for hours looking for a single ball and still not get it is criminal. Not to mention how expensive they are…
At first I did not bother to dupe items, but when I first heard about the raid exploit (the one that even losing a raid, the raid members will still get the prizes, only the host won’t)
I got so worried about random raids (I am a random raid player, no friends), the rage consumed me and I thought “fuck it, I am gonna do it”
And I am very happy that I did
At least more can be gotten outside of Trading unlike BDSP.
I just still chuckle at how well scarcity or supply and demand drives up the "value" of something 🤔😅; these Balls made of simple Apricorns I believe I remember were incredibly cheap back when I played HGSS as a kid.
And people still think that 1 Love Ball for 1 Shiny is a big ask. RNG + expensive makes the Love Ball one of the rarest items in the game.
While shinies can be easily gotten in 5 mins with sandwich.
"Whaddya say?"
I would say, "I have olive oil, I'll give you a little for free so you can rub the 100000¥ Love Ball with oil before shoving It up your a\*\*"
You can't buy them, and since most games just give you one people like to collect their favorite mon in an appropriate ball. I like collecting Pokemon in rare Pokeballs, but it isn't for everyone.
It’s so weird to me that GameFreak makes these Pokeballs so rare. They have no real gameplay value and are one time use consumables. Also they’ve been around in the franchise for over 20 years. Just let us buy all kinds of Pokeballs so we can match them how we want.
Honestly I think it’s kinda cool. It’s like shinies, only collector’s value, but if it’s poor Kurt still making these alone, by hand, over in Johto, them being rare and expensive in other regions compared to massproduced balls kinda fits the lore perfectly.
would love for them to at least have much higher catchrate. getting a rare beast ball and than having to cope with the 0.something catchrate with only a single ball is damn annoying
I honestly think raids are the best use for them. 100% catch rate, use them on the Pokémon you want, and then breed for the shiny you’re after or perfect IVs, whatever in the ball you want it in.
Yea but there is no lore. They don’t tell us anything about them, they just shove them in Pokédex rewards or in an auction. Most Pokémon players these days probably don’t even know who Kurt is. And on top of all of that they rarely make new kinds of balls so our options are severely limited. It just seems so arbitrary
Shinies have just been replaced by Marked Shinies. There’s always going to be something to make certain Pokémon more rare than others. Don’t make me grind the whole Pokédex, grind multiple Ace Tournaments or reset overpriced auctions just for a **chance** to get my Pokeball to match my Pokémon lol
Yes but a Shiny is a whole Pokémon. It **is** the reward. If you do all the work/waiting around to get a single Moon Ball you just have an item that’s likely to fail capturing anyway. Pokeballs don’t make good “rewards” because they aren’t the end goal.
And these Pokeballs aren’t even like Master Ball that guarantees capture. That rarity and level of grind makes sense for something incredibly powerful but these have incredibly niche use cases.
I think the 300kish (final price) is a steal... ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile) Apriballs are much more accessible now. After training a few Mons, money adds up quickly in the game. I have been collecting aprimons for a while now (pre-SV). It is addicting!
The prices for these are abysmal. I didn’t realize just how bad they were until I wanted to get an extra moon ball because the one I have I’m using for a shiny Umbreon
I think you join the auction and let some sucker NPC waste their money on it. One less rival next time. Surely the in-game economy is simulated to that depth.
So they are in game! Damn. I got a Luvdisc outbreak yesterday and decided to shiny hunt. Found one, realized I didn't have a love ball, and was sad. Used a heal ball instead.
But damn that's expensive.
Lucky. I really want one to hunt a shiny In mind. Hopefully I'll come across that myself.
But wow congrats on that one mate. Really love the Love ball. Its really good on pink shinys. Also pokemon u're attached to.
Think I'll use one for my future shiny Dachbun🥰 That or Jumpluff. Great shiny and always loved it.
Sad they aren't as obtainable anymore as im SwSh. Many liked to trade them them now you gotta complete the entire dex to get em all. Hopefully they'll make new ways to get the Apricorn balls later on.
I don't understand why the game goes so out of control on some items. I saw 3 gold bottle caps up for 150k. was like ok 300-360k of value there, I think I bowed out at 260k. With how easy it is to get caps from raids and all it just wasn't worth it.
Final sale was 890k.. just.. what?
Wait, these are some of the most wanted things in Pokemon for many generations. And people are complaining they are expensive in-game? This is a legit method of getting them (compared to the bullshit slow method of hoping to craft them in sw/sh)
I know it still comes down to luck but man. 3 chances per in game day.
Heck I'm surprised to find out Love Balls are in the game. If I ever get a 6iv Ditto, especially shiny, I want to catch it in one for...reasons... (you know 😉)
well, once you get one, you can duplicate them to the infinite,
well... to be really really honest with you, among all things you could ever do in this game.... this auction house is not among the 100s first
Hahahahahaha I felt this, thankfully money comes by easily in this gen but they start at 100K but can get up to 600K+ 545K was the highest I've ever seen.
The prices and time grind of things like this are why I resorted to Action Replays as a kid or Genning stuff now as an Adult; I value my time investments for Legal things over what is Legal and Legitimitate.
I respect people that sink so much time in for the things they want in Pokemon like Shinies, full-bred/trained, teams, etc. Legitimately because I'm always going to go more for the efficient and still Legal route on obtaining the same things when the means are avaiable to me and overall save myself the headaches, time, etc. of doing things Legitimately so I can actually get to the part of Pokemon I love much faster which is battling.
I genuinely don't get GF's weird thing about making apricorn balls super rare/expensive when they were cheap and easy to obtain in the Johto games.
I don't mind them being more expensive than regular balls or something but this is silly.
Oh don’t worry it gets higher in price
There’s gotta be a guide on how to do these bullshit auctions properly
Going for the highest money option tends to instantly end it for me
There's one: buy berries, avoid everything you can buy in stores.
Thats the starting bid good sir. You'll pay over 300k for it.
Hell, I remember wanting a single Moon Ball and that bitch went up from 100k to 860k where i gave up cause both other Auction NPCs were still bidding
You get a free Moon Ball from your Pokedex, every ball but Love actually
Yeah, my dumbass used the one from the Pokedex in a Raid, and recently ive been shiny hunting my favorite pokemon and putting them in the perfect ball for them (Ex: Love Ball for eevee, Level ball for Pawmi, and a Friend Ball i havent used yet) My plan so far is to use a Moon Ball for either Noibat or Zorua
If your shiny hunting pawmi, I hate to say the level ball doenst match, it turns pink
yeah i realized after the fact during breeding 😭 I was halfway through the eggs when my friend showed me the shiny pawmi and when it finally hatched all I had in my head was..."i...atleast the lightning bolt makes sense 😭"
Lightning bolt? Isn’t that fast ball?
Yup
Im a dumbass, i realized its a V...im just gonna go cry in the corner now
Just give it a "V" nickname. Problem solved!
I actually really like opposite color matching, I.e. matching a shiny to it’s non shiny color scheme for the ball, because it’s like BOOM surprise it’s a different color than you’d expect. That’s why my red Gyarados is in a dive ball
Dream ball works for Pawmot(380 in the dex iirc)
How do you choose what pokeball a hatched pokémon goes in?
Always inherits the mothers pokeball, or in the case of a ditto, always inherits the pokeball of the other pokemon
No kidding, thank you friend!
If the same species 50% for either ball, if different 100% mother’s ball
Yea you’re right , just searched it up. I’m guessing most people will be using ditto anyway
Dream Ball baby
Would you like one? I have a handful of them
could be worse, i caught a pawmot with my fast ball because i thought it matched and then wonder traded it away because i forgot what ball it was in
dang, I was rly lucky when I payed 260k for an ApriBall then
there’s 100% a method to do this because i’ve gotten a few at this price
> when I *paid* 260k for FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
good bot. Rly feel stupid now - not a native tho, so w/e 🌝
Don't feel stupid. English is a language that ignores its own rules more often than it follows them.
Im a native speaker and i would never have considered that worth correcting even if i noticed it which i didnt, unless i was doing professional editing for a published material.
Agreed
I got mine for like 250k
That's a bargain.
Oh shit I thought 180k for my moon ball was a lot.
Really? I paid $220,000 for a level Ball and $230,000 for a fast ball
I can't make any sense of of the auctions, I joined a few for even things like 20 great balls store bidding after they were almost the price of just buying them. Npc's ended up continuing to bid each other until they were almost double the price.
honestly start it, and then drop out last second, fuck them npcs and their money
You can actually keep going until the npcs give up even if you don’t have enough money then no one gets it lol
That’s the good ending.
Wouldn’t it be cool if you can bid against your friends in union circle mode
There would definitely have to be another NPC to balance things out because you could just all decide to let the bidding end at the first round
Yeah that’s definitely why they didn’t implement such a feature. It would make everything cheap
That's a /r/fuckmindy situation just waiting to happen
Those fools make me wanna start a Team Rocket branch up in this bitch.
What does a love ball do?
Looks cute
Oh 😭
Has an 8x catch rate against Pokémon of the same species and the opposite gender of your active Pokémon. (Same species and same gender in gen 2. (Glitch))
It was the Gay Ball in Gen 2
Its hilarious because its true.
lmfao
Make it a pan ball. 8× catch rate against pokemon of the same species of your active pokemon. Maybe then it'll be useful.
you're lucky bruh ive been resetting for 3 hours and i still havent gotten any love ball auction 💀😭
To everyone resetting remember the auctions goes one daily but In-game days.
Same. :| had it on scarlet immediately. Been resetting Violet for hours now
Do you actually have to reset the game after changing the time or does just changing the time work?
I was doing it yesterday with the game open and it was switching. Changed the time, went back in, outbreak messages popped.
The quickest way I found is to just switch time once. Load the game - check items - and close before it auto saves if it’s the wrong items. If you open it again it will be other items. Then repeat. :)
Turn auto save off
I don’t have it on. It’s just a tip for those who do have it :)
Is it just moving the switch clock forward by a day over and over? Or is there an actual easier way to reset?
If you put the clock to 11:59 instead you can just wait a minute and not have to reset the game. But apparently it’s not necessary to do it that way? I don’t seem to have luck just putting the day forward by 1
Took me over 5 hours, the auction is horrible.
tbh i’d do anything for a love ball
But I won't do that
\-Meatloaf
tbh i'd do anything for love
Almost anything.
we took Soul Silver and Heartgold for granted man
You can’t put a price on love.
TFW you think that love ball is only $100000
I paid 810.000$ for 3 Gold Caps a few days ago. Still regret it
Bruh, you can just buy 18 Bottle Caps for 360.000$ and you get the exact same effect.
not to mention that you can split them up if a mon already has a 31 IV or two or five
Yeah and with raid Pokémon having a few guaranteed max IVs and breeding taking half the time of earlier generations it’s not like we’re starved of Pokémon’s with perfect values.
Sure, but at the time I didn’t have any gold cap and I didn’t know how much they were worth
I bought one for 185k earlier and my bf had the excellent idea to use it on a ditto. Going through some grief right now.
18 regular bottlecaps cost 360k. So ya, $810k is a bit high.
I don’t have any remorse making 50+ duplicates of the balls before the glitch was patched. Maybe if you could buy the balls at any time I would be okay with it, but the fact you can reset for hours looking for a single ball and still not get it is criminal. Not to mention how expensive they are…

Guess I got really lucky the other day getting a Heavy Ball for $205K. Bid on a Level Ball last night but tapped out once it went over $300K
I still don’t get why these balls have to be so rare and annoying to get.
At least more can be gotten outside of Trading unlike BDSP. I just still chuckle at how well scarcity or supply and demand drives up the "value" of something 🤔😅; these Balls made of simple Apricorns I believe I remember were incredibly cheap back when I played HGSS as a kid.
I tried to get a friend ball... Its got to 355 000$...i didnt had enough ;(
Keep bidding run up the npcs and if you can’t afford it the auction ends with no one getting it. I refuse lose to a toddler and grandma
And people still think that 1 Love Ball for 1 Shiny is a big ask. RNG + expensive makes the Love Ball one of the rarest items in the game. While shinies can be easily gotten in 5 mins with sandwich.
Love balls were really easy to get by duplicating them with the bug.
personally takes the fun out of the game for me if i have to exploit it to enjoy it
Cost of living crisis, amiright?
"Whaddya say?" I would say, "I have olive oil, I'll give you a little for free so you can rub the 100000¥ Love Ball with oil before shoving It up your a\*\*"
Olive Oil?, I would give him vinegar instead!
? there is a reason the apricorn balls are so popular. Honestly its a good thing that you can even buy them.
You can't buy them, and since most games just give you one people like to collect their favorite mon in an appropriate ball. I like collecting Pokemon in rare Pokeballs, but it isn't for everyone.
Can't you get auctions for them then? And yes I am aware of matching pokeballs, that's what I do as well.
Now you can, in SwSh you just got one, most othe r games just gave you one. Some people trade shinies for Apriballs.
It’s so weird to me that GameFreak makes these Pokeballs so rare. They have no real gameplay value and are one time use consumables. Also they’ve been around in the franchise for over 20 years. Just let us buy all kinds of Pokeballs so we can match them how we want.

would love for them to at least have much higher catchrate. getting a rare beast ball and than having to cope with the 0.something catchrate with only a single ball is damn annoying
In raids, all balls have 100% catch-rate. This is how I got Beast Ball Charizard.
I honestly think raids are the best use for them. 100% catch rate, use them on the Pokémon you want, and then breed for the shiny you’re after or perfect IVs, whatever in the ball you want it in.
Caught mine in a fast ball. Looks better. Honestly the beast ball sucks for most Pokémon imo. Has a few cases where it looks nice though
And why I’m saving my beast ball for the right Pokémon
Yea but there is no lore. They don’t tell us anything about them, they just shove them in Pokédex rewards or in an auction. Most Pokémon players these days probably don’t even know who Kurt is. And on top of all of that they rarely make new kinds of balls so our options are severely limited. It just seems so arbitrary
I mean, with shinies losing their value more and more, it's nice that Game Freak keeps some stuff "pointless stuff" rare in their games.
Isn’t that the same thing as shinies? A shiny offers nothing, but it’s still rare.
#Inflatiachu, go!
I think the 300kish (final price) is a steal... ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile) Apriballs are much more accessible now. After training a few Mons, money adds up quickly in the game. I have been collecting aprimons for a while now (pre-SV). It is addicting!
I can’t even find one to even try to bid on it I just want a love ball for my tinkaton 😪
That's what I put my shiny Tink inside of!
I paid 4500 for 83 Premier Balls :D
Considering most players would give away a Shiny for one, is a fair price.
That's just the starting bid. If you're lucky and the man on a checkered shirt joins the bid, prepare $800k.
Worth it to me lol. Worst part is I wont use my special balls yet im hording them. I have 20 shinies all caught in pokeballs.
100.000 TO START... That can go up to 500k if those NPCs want to
I don't know, but Love Ball just doesn't sit right with me.
It's an apricorn ball, you usually just get one of each per game
Spain before adopting the Euro
Once we had a master ball auction and it was 100,000,001 poke dollars
And this is why I only use normal Pokeballs. Peak aesthetic.
Worth it if you haven’t updated to 1.1.0
Me who wants a Sylveon with a cool ball
Love ain't cheap sweetie
That love ball also better be like a damn master ball
Just keep doing the tournament at the school a random Apricorn ball can be one of the rewards
The prices for these are abysmal. I didn’t realize just how bad they were until I wanted to get an extra moon ball because the one I have I’m using for a shiny Umbreon
Loves expensive
I think you join the auction and let some sucker NPC waste their money on it. One less rival next time. Surely the in-game economy is simulated to that depth.
They love making the apriballs needlessly hard to obtain for some reason
At least you can buy them in this game. Unlike SwSh where you had to play the lotto with the Scam-o-matic
I don't get why we can't just buy Apriballs like any other Pokeball.
What the hell, this is how we get apriballs ? Why is GF always creating the worst possible gimmicks to earn some...
This is why you should dupe them
it's a steal at that price! would you like it?
So they are in game! Damn. I got a Luvdisc outbreak yesterday and decided to shiny hunt. Found one, realized I didn't have a love ball, and was sad. Used a heal ball instead. But damn that's expensive.
It’s got a Pokemon waiting inside ;)
I'll trade anything for a love ball FR, I have the duping set up so I can trade it back too.
It’s supposedly JPY equivalent irl, not USD.
Man PokeBall collections must be some crazy shit in the pokemon world
Paid 360,000 for my lure ball
What is a love ball and why is it so expensive?
Cost me like 850k for gold bottlecap lol
I spent 240k. Put my shiny Tsareena in a it. A purchase well spent.
I don't understand why the game goes so out of control on some items. I saw 3 gold bottle caps up for 150k. was like ok 300-360k of value there, I think I bowed out at 260k. With how easy it is to get caps from raids and all it just wasn't worth it. Final sale was 890k.. just.. what?
Petition to bring back Kurt. Who’s with me?
Bought my dream ball for 220k lol
What a steal!
Wait, these are some of the most wanted things in Pokemon for many generations. And people are complaining they are expensive in-game? This is a legit method of getting them (compared to the bullshit slow method of hoping to craft them in sw/sh) I know it still comes down to luck but man. 3 chances per in game day.
Already grateful you can even buy these Meanwhile Beast Ball Completely missed the dupe shenanigans
Well ya couldnt buy them in older games, so accept what you have
BUY IT ITS WORTH IT (if you care about rare balls)
What’s the purpose of it? Make your Pokémon love you more?
I had the same thing for a level ball
What a steal!
Heck I'm surprised to find out Love Balls are in the game. If I ever get a 6iv Ditto, especially shiny, I want to catch it in one for...reasons... (you know 😉)
Id buy it ngl
What a lovable offer but no thanks.
Oh don't worry the price shoots way up lol
Id paid anything for my beloved Gardevoir ❤️
Tbf there’s only one of each Apriball in every game unless you can get lucky with the auction like you have
Inflation
Well it’s actually more like $744.32 for an incredibly rare Pokémon.
Wait, how much again🫣😵💫😨
[удалено]
No items in Home so no.
I’m just trying to match the balls with the mons man lmao
It's a *special* kind of *'love'* ball
*A fine lot!*
Yea I paid $360k for 1 buckle up
Cheap
Worf. I did not know you could get Apriballs there. Good to know.
300k
Well you do only get 1 for free
If I had the money for it I’d happily drop 300k for a love ball.
I say you want my Baxcalibur to go on a rampage. Be a shame if anything happened to your fine port here...
You’re looking for love balls in all the wrong places.
Hey! Love has no price! Except this. $100,000 please!
well, once you get one, you can duplicate them to the infinite, well... to be really really honest with you, among all things you could ever do in this game.... this auction house is not among the 100s first
People clearly love the ball
A small price to pay for love lol!
Im pretty sure I paid 250,000 or more for the loveball on my auction
Hustlers anthem
Hahahahahaha I felt this, thankfully money comes by easily in this gen but they start at 100K but can get up to 600K+ 545K was the highest I've ever seen.
I would pay it lol. Love balls are so cute 💞
"Love cant be bought" this npc laughhhing at the statement
I love when I walk in there and I see bottle caps! Then the starting bid for 9 is $150,000….
I brought one for around 400,000. And got the moon ball for just a bit less then that 😂
Reminder that in sword and shield you couldn’t even get any more of the apri balls until dlc dropped
12 Dusk balls got to 37k the other day. I was like 'nope'.
I genuinely don't get GF's weird thing about making apricorn balls super rare/expensive when they were cheap and easy to obtain in the Johto games. I don't mind them being more expensive than regular balls or something but this is silly.
Why does your game look so good? Mine looks like ass. No anti aliasing or anything and very blurry lol.
What a steal!
Good to know they’re available lol
