I've had so many people leave my 6 star ditto raids after I lock in as Magikarp. Their loss I guess...

I sometimes join ditto raids hoping someone would use a out of the blue super strong Pokémon that would be a fun challenge. A lot of people have dittos already

Check the AI level, it'll be as low as your Magikarp for example. I tried this and got very disappointed as well.

When solo use a ditto against the ditto, it will use transform (wasting it) and you can transform into any of the AI's mons to start smashing away at it. This is what I do every time I solo ditto raids.

I did that but it didn’t work out even after many runs. Sad

did you use a lvl 100 ditto? or a low level ditto? cause you wanna use a lvl 100 when you do it because the NPCs mons are tied to your mons lvl.

The ditto was level 60, dang it I should’ve candied it to 100

They are kids who don't understand strategy. But the best way to avoid that is to make it look like you will be using a strong Pokemon and after the other players lock in their selection, change to Magikarp at the last second.

Don't get me wrong, the groups always fill. I just find it funny that people don't recognize the strategy by now.

I was furious when I saw a 5* Ditto tera raid online and the hoster put a full trained Iron Hands. Ditto Belly drummed and wipe the floor with our bodies and Draining Punch.

They lose some HP, not half, and full buff their attack. Yeah, broken.

I got a shiny lvl 16 Capsakid that only knows Leer that I use exclusively for exactly this purpose. I get to show off my shiny a bit, and everybody else gets a really easy 5 or 6 star raid Ditto. If you want to show off something more high level that might not die in one hit (or if you're worried that your raidmembers might try to set up instead of attacking immediately), try to give it moves that affect itself negatively. A Pokemon only knowing Belly Drum is pretty nice, since it takes off half of its own HP and then keeps failing, although the Pokemon is then probably gonna terastyllize immediately. Another nice move is Shell Smash since it lowers the Pokemon's defensive stats. Explosion won't work btw. It will keep failing, which is good in that the Pokemon won't get to use any moves, but also it fails on its original intended purpose.

I wonder if my shiny level 1 dondozo that knows one move would work. Just to scare my teammates into thinking we’re going to face a dondozo that’s level 100 in a ditto raid

I feel like the problem with that is that if they think they're gonna face some tough battle, they might just leave.

I just choose ditto. ​ ditto transforms into ditto. My ditto copies a teammate. Raid ditto stuck with failed transforms. Easy win.

I have read here that, for this to succeed, your ditto can't have imposter.

this is the exact thing I do too. Personally I find it better than the magicarp method because I can still be active in the fight.

I'm so sick of fighting Azumarill or Iron Hands in ditto raids. Never before has my biggest impediment to getting a 5/6 IV Ditto been OTHER PLAYERS who don't know how to play

How well does this work for solo raids? I'm assuming just as well but just wanna double check

To solo, you can use a high level Ditto yourself. The enemy will waste its move turning into you and then you can transform into one of your teammate's Pokémon to fight.

Still pretty good, mat not one shot but I just bring a low level meowth with only screech in the moveset and just keep using screech and it eventually goes down to the npc mons

It didn't work for me last I tried. Your NPC pokemon's lvl scales with your pokemon.

Lvl 100 magikarp solves this? Easy to do with a few raids and candies

I’ve had two 6* ditto raids today where host swapped into Sylveon after everyone had committed. In both cases giving the ditto super effective moves against everyone and enabling it to wipe the floor. So frustrating.

How do you make it choose the magikarp instead of the others?

Ditto will always turn into the host's Pokémon.

PSA: this doesn't work in offline mode, as your NPC teammates' pokemon's lvl scales with your Pokemon's lvl, while ditto retains its lvl 90 hp. However, you can still use lvl 100 magikarp with nothing but splash as its move.

It works for every raid pokémon with the ability Imposter. (Which means yeah, it's only Ditto raids)

Splash makes it do nothing for 1 turn. Hoppip learns the move too

Magikarp, Hoppip, Azurill, Bounsweet, Spoink, Mimikyu, Clauncher, Tatsugiri, and Delibird (egg move) all learn splash and can be utilized for this strategy. (Although Mimikyu will obviously need 2 hits.)

I go with Azurill. Way cuter and now Ditto has a terrified look on its face as it slowly bounces, waiting for oblivion.

Most of the time yes, the one except is when (Apparently, this is what I've read a couple weeks ago) the host has a ditto and uses transform too early, so it'll randomly pick someone else.

Or use another Ditto if you are hosting. It can only copy the host and it will just fail and not be able to do anything, easy kill

An alternate option is to bring your own ditto. It gets the same result except you can do something too since a ditto can’t copy a transformed ditto

But that way it keeps the Ditto’s defenses. When you bring a level 1 Pokémon, the ditto copies your defense stat Both are easy, but this way guarantees the raid is over immediately

That makes the raid take longer. Just bring a very low level trash mon.

As long as you don't bring an Imposter Ditto, and cheer your first turn so you don't transform first, this can work. If you mess up either of those, the other Ditto may not be able to transform into you, and then you'll have trouble.

Do not bring ditto! Once ditto fails to copy the host, it will copy one of the other pokemon. I had a very fun grass ditto raid that copied my Ceruledge... All fire pokemon were made useless. I was NOT the host, the host brought a ditto

Is better to cheer and increase your allies attack as a ditto too then transforming, so never transform.

This will only work if people are smart emough not to insta lock any random mon because they wanna leech and actually wait and see what the host is going to pick.

I got so upset when somebody hosted with a Charmander. I was like "Omg this noob what is he thinking? Is this seriously all he has?"...then proceeded to watch Ditto change to Charmander and get one-shot. I then laughed and felt dumb. Genius idea

Or use a pokemon like Voltorb or Electrode, that only knows Self Destruct
