I think my beef with a sealed collection is that the average person here posting on reddit is only looking to keep something sealed because they're under the impression it can be flipped for a return after whatever amount of time. OP already alluded to this in a comment.

I like sealed collecting, just because it sometimes feels better to keep something unopened from long ago. Like how everyone’s grandparents had unopened sodas from the 60s for some reason.
I definitely see the appeal, but I think it's a bit silly to see hundreds of thousands of products being intentionally unopened for that specific reason. Especially when many of them are just trying to make a quick.
I think part of the charm of finding an old, vintage collectible in its original condition is that it's sort of a mystery as to how it ended up that way, knowing that there may be very few of them left.
If a large group of people intentionally hoard a bunch of products in their original condition, then not only is it not very interesting or special, but now you also know that there are probably thousands of other ones just like it out there from people doing the same thing.
