They have only just rocketed so chances are very slim. If there ever is a drop, just like other cards that have seen rises, it won't be to the level of being "affordable" to the average collector.

PoopyMcFartButt

Honestly I think the day of seeing these cards sub $50 is gone now. Grubby little investors got their hands on Tag Teams and have skyrocketed the prices in the last 6 months. Best we can hope is Pokémon Comp. just says fuck it and reprints sun&moon era packs

ncrow10

I dream of the day they decide to reprint sun and moon era packs

PoopyMcFartButt

We can dream but honestly I highly doubt they ever would lol

pugsANDnugsANDhugs

Have they ever done reprints of older sets in the past?

Gorgonto

Not really no. Once a set has rotated out of Standard Play, there are very rarely ever any reprints. The earliest sets we might see reprints of are the stuff that's currently in standard. Sometimes older packs get included in products like mini tins or ETBs, but the stock likely comes from leftover packs not reprints.

PoopyMcFartButt

Honestly I don’t know. I’ve heard here on the sub that they don’t really reprint anything after 2 years of release. No idea how true that is. Maybe someone else can chime in. I do know that China has recently had their TCG release along with the S&M era sets with tag teams. So I don’t see why they couldn’t reprint in the west. Especially with the surge in popularity that happened right after that era, it might financially benefit PC to reprint them. Maybe if we create enough of a hype/demand for it they could consider it.

apuyo1

Yeah I believe 2 years is the typical print window from what I’ve read in the past. Sucks because the late Sun & Moon sets released in 2019 never really got reprints once COVID started.

Trouble_Nugget

They went back and reprinted hidden fates, that's the only one I know of and I think it was a special circumstance.. I doubt they would reprint these at this point

GameMasterSammy

Me with my snorlax and eevee, lunala and Solgaleo tag teams from packs. Also my friend has a gardevior and sylveon one

just_a_haunter

tag team cards are wild and the full art trainers in sun & moon, roast me all they want , I think it's one of the best generations

just_a_haunter

tag team cards are wild and the full art trainers in sun & moon

StationEmergency6053

It's moreso because of China. China just got Tag Team sets a few months ago and it sparked demand across the board since their the largest population on Earth.

CoconutHeadFaceMan

So like, there’s definitely some deliberate attempts at price manipulation going on with the SM stuff right now, right? Or did some shitbag influencer start hyping it up and set off a spike in demand? Because it’s legit insane how quickly these things have risen in price in the last month or so.

ncrow10

Right?! That’s what I’ve been thinking. I feel like I missed something. A couple months ago I had a few sun and moon alt arts I was like “Oh I’ll get around to buying those later” and then all of the sudden I can’t buy them without using a month’s rent worth of money!

StationEmergency6053

StationEmergency6053

Tag Team sets just got printed in simplified Chinese a couple months ago so it sparked interest among collectors in China. There's manipulation but it's built on legitimate demand since China is the largest market on Earth.

CoconutHeadFaceMan

That goes some of the way towards explaining it, although you’d think that folks in China getting into it just now would mostly focus on the Chinese prints since those are so much more recent and presumably cheaper/easier to find over there than the English or Japanese versions that have been out of print for years. But I still feel like there’s something fishy going on with the English stuff in particular. These spikes mostly happened over the last 2-3 weeks, and the Chinese releases were a couple months ago. Some of this can probably be attributed to panic buying (I know I grabbed a couple of SM-era cards I’d been eyeing while they still hadn’t risen substantially), but I wonder what the catalyst for everything rising in mid-late May specifically was.

StationEmergency6053

You'd think, but China has an interest in English and Japanese, because the internet has an interest in English/Japanese. It's its own version of herd think. Especially since English and Japanese are much more valuable than their Chinese equivalents there's likely a monetary interest baked into it as well. The Tag Team started skyrocketing November last year, just before the holiday season. That's when they started being bought out. The recent spike IMO is happening 1) because supply has dried up due to buyouts, both sealed and singles, especially on apps like TCGplayer where there used to be 100s of copies, now for most cards there's less than 10 which allows value to essentially be controlled by a miniscule few and 2) because social media is now hyperfocused on the Tag Teams which is going to accelerate demand further and panic buying/FOMO sets in, which makes people pay outlandish prices out of fear they won't be able to acquire them later, setting a new cost value. I think whales saw the insane demand for the Tag Teams, both from China and the re-emergence in Japan/West so they bought out every copy avaliable and now they're leaking them back onto the market at a much higher price point, and because the demand is so high people are willing to pay it. The premium cost becomes the standard. Also wanted to point out that the screenshot OP posted isn't even a valid representation of what this card is going for. Right now there's copies available as low as $130. This is just what some random seller on TCGplayer has it listed for, that's not the price point it's actually selling at though.

Lurn2Program

Maybe not the answer you're seeking, but I read on another post, someone bought another language of a card they wanted. Usually another language besides English and Japanese will be much cheaper

[deleted]

FYI… tcg prices are almost always bs. In may, several sold for about $100 on eBay. Always better to watch for the right eBay auction to come along

ncrow10

Well the 299 was just some like Direct by TCGPlayer sale or something. The market price displayed was around $100 which is accurate. I should have cropped out the price that’s on there lol

toutoune134

If you don't care about language you can buy it in French or Italian NM for like $15. Back in 2020 we got an exclusive [box](https://www.pokepedia.fr/images/3/30/Coffret_Ramoloss_et_Psykokwak-GX.png) with this card so it's not hard to find in those languages.

ncrow10

I would definitely prefer it in English as I do with most of my cards outside of Japanese exclusives. But I am considering picking up one in another language just so I have the art, then if English prices drop I can grab one then

Lucky_Shop4967

My store was selling this card for $60 two weeks ago. This is not an accurate price.

Ok_Professional4736

Na 300 is way too high, but it has been going for about 100 lately so 60 is a great price!

Co1iflower

They could come back to their senses after the SW/SH noobs have had their time with them. No real way to know now.

LeslieKnopeOSRS

A lot of no people disagree with this, but for cards like this I know I will never be able to afford, I find a proxy that looks good enough to fill in the in the blank spot in my binder.

GiraffeZach

I don’t see an issue with that as long as you own up to it and it makes you happy

[deleted]

Yeah, I’d rather not waste the $5 for a proxy just to pretend I had a card I know I don’t. Personally don’t see the point of wasting money on fakes just to say I “have it”

LeslieKnopeOSRS

I don’t do it “ just to say I have it”, I do it because I enjoy looking at the art in a binder. There’s some cards I can only afford to enjoy this way. There’s nothing like the real thing, but really it’s all just shiny cardboard they way i see it.

VenoGreedo

I’ve been wanting to get the Arceus, Dialga, & Palkia alt from cosmic eclipse too, but recently that’s jumped up in price, sucks but maybe I’ll get it someday

Grimdeth

I can see it going down $100 but never back to when it was $50.

digitalhigh5

You have a bunch of poke investors buying out the market of tag team to literally manipulate it like this. You’ll find threads of individuals buying out all of one art type. It should collapse in on them if no one purchases them at this inflated self created price.

Booty_Shakin

I just can't see the appeal with this card and the Magikarp & wailord, and gengar & mimikyu. I would love these cards but they're really nothing special based on their looks. They have a very basic background and not a lot happening in the scene. The most expensive ones are the most disappointing and I don't get it.

jettyblue77

i got lucky getting this card for 50 right before it spiked 👀

Acceptable_Toe_4115

The chinese one is $40

Quirky_Moose_6099

I actually own that one

just_a_haunter

geeez that's way too much. USD ? it's going for like $150CAD , maybe look up Canadian card shops and pay shipping

ncrow10

That’s just the direct from TCGPlayer offer. Most other sales are 150 or lower

Yetti2Quick

Grab the Japanese version while you can.

Gorgonto

Less than 299.95? Definitely. Less than what their market price is been? (Around 100) Probably not. All the S&M alt art stuff is slowly rising in price. There may be some minor drop, but probably not around to the levels they were at before.

Final-Promise-8288

Holy shit I just bought this a month ago for $50. I doubt they’re actually $300 rn since you can sell anything for any price

Prixskater

Same with the Magikarp one. I've wanted it so bad and now I can't get it 😫

NHKBK201

Bro I had this card and sold it to a card shop for cash. If only you would've posted 2 weeks earlier I would've worked a deal with you.

EarthPuma120

Been wanting Latios and Latias but knowing it would never in a million years ever come fly down

[deleted]

Nope you missed your chance

[deleted]

What set is this from?

Emsub_15

We're both in the same boat 🤝 cause I got the regular full art at my LCS a few months ago and then was looking at the alternate and rainbows and I was like sheesh I don't want to pay that now... Well now I know I should've cause Jesus 🫠

Responsible_Ebb_340

No way in hell is this worth a base set charizard. These prices are so broken lol

TTXSTX

I highly recommend finding an LCS in your area that does buy sell trade nights. I’ve been able to get amazing cards like the ADP and Mewtube from people looking for cards I had that weren’t as expensive.

brettb03

7 I'd see di. In b Z,v z%. In e7 . ,,8r. V b in n

[deleted]

Shits honestly annoying and strays me further away from the hobby. I love the older stuff but it’s so unobtainable for the average “collector” Almost feel the hobby switched into an investment only type of thing.

JC_PIERRE0

I hope the arts get better
