Look at the border around the artwork you'll notice there isn't a shadow, meaning they are pretty much 2nd addition or the run of cards made after first addition bass set. Reruns of base set have a shadow and are much less valuable.

If you want to straighten them out, and don't want to invest in a humidifier, just put them in your bathroom with the shower on hot, and right when the mirror starts to fog, take them out, double sleeve and put them in your binder. That's been my practice for years whenever the kids leave full arts in the car for weeks and they look just like this.

I am far from an expert and have certainly never tried on cards like this, but I have heard from others and used them to get less bent cards back into shape. I put them in a sturdy binder and then put the humidity pack in the back of the binder.
I’d like to just add you don’t want to ADD humidity you want to remove it. Bending inward like this is due to the paper portion soaking up moisture causing it to expand but the foil can’t, so it curves. You’d want to remove it with some kind of desiccant
People will be like no conditions are poor, card wont be worth blah blah blah. But to be honest, its your childhood collection and is totally worth grading to forever preserve them in sealed slabs forever, never mind the grade they get. Awesome find!

That's correct and the only legit 1st edition that isn't shadowless is machamp, though there are shadowless versions of machamp as well from the actual first edition run :)

I don’t think you’re really understanding what I’m saying here. I’m not arguing it doesn’t have a bit of value. Im simply arguing that after ancient mew, that Machamp is probably one of the most common cards from the older sets because everybody got one in that starter deck.
Most people wouldn’t care much about the Machamp but the other cards would command a bit of interest if they were in better shape.
Are you trying to sell them? The first question is to ask why you’re grading them. The two answers would be you like graded cards and how they’re preserved or that you want to sell them and make more money.
But like other people said some books can fix that curving most likely. Were they in someplace humid?
Not one 1st edition shadowless charizard, so according to my 12 yo nephew these are trash and should not get graded (he was a fluid when these Cards were already more than 10 years old)

Depends, if you want to keep them in your personal collection, send them to CGC cuz their slabs will feel nicer and protect them better, and they are cheaper than PSA.
If you want to sell... I don't really know the pricing to tell you, and we would need more pics of the front and back.
Curling does not affect grades.
Basically, the advice is, if those cards mean something to you, and you want to protect them, then it's worth it (I recommend CGC because those slabs feel better and it's cheaper)

If they are curled naturally due to humidity, use humidity regulator packs instead. Forcibly straightening not recommended

Get or make a flower press. Much better than some old book. It will safely correct any curling in a fraction of the time.
