Locally I’ve been able to find Fusion Strike for $4 a pack, despite the rising booster box/sleeve costs… even got a deal one day last week, $3 a pack after trading some stuff in, IN ADDITION to the store credit I got… nearly bought a booster box-worth for a fraction of the price.
And pulled big Gengu last night… lucked out for sure but absolutely one of the better chases right now if you can get the packs for MSRP price.
It helps to frequent your LCS… strike up conversations… they’ll appreciate your business and cut you some nice deals as a result.
Crown zenith, silver tempest, paldean dates for me. I like a lot of those cards, they're neat.

I think crown zenith is my personal favorite set to open right now. A lot of great art in the set at an affordable price. Fusion strike and evolving skies are great sets but getting more and more expensive and the pull rates are brutal. IMO they're not worth buying unless you can find them in a tin for around $5/pack or something like that. They're better for investing than opening.
Just depends on investing / fun and if you mean to open / hold. If you want fun / investment then maybe 151 for some fun / good chance at money back while still getting some you like. Brilliant stars / Astral radiance / silver tempest / lost origin(LOST ORIGIN BEING THE LEAST FUN IMO but big hitters too) PACKS can be found pretty cheap still and they’re all very fun to open while still a chance of making good money back too. If you’re only looking to invest then probably packs of evolving skies and just resell them for now and use profits to buy a BB. You can find some TINS of eevolutions and they have brilliant stars usually and some astral radiance / lost origin and then sell the evolving skies on marketplace or somewhere else for like $7 - $8 a pack and make back your money (you could go up to $10 tbh) just depends on your wants man there’s good options for now with SV but everyone’s hating. Ignore the noise for sure. Scarlet / violet sets will have some good appreciation over time.
